*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Right now thinking of being just down the River at POR 7/11-7/16. :-)

What made you switch?
Always wanted to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, but since I'm a teacher I was never able to do it. :sad2: Recently I watched a video showing POFQ and decided that I'd rather stay there than Pop.

We went to POFQ for the first time on our last trip in 2011. Yeah, I highly doubt we will ever go anywhere else!!! Granted, that isn't everyone's view because everyone is different.... However, I loved the smaller resort. The pool is awesome. The colors of the room seemed sort of "royal" to me. The food court has different foods than many others. And, my fave thing is.... the boat to DTD! My husband is also a huge fan. This resort is really spot on for the type of place we like!

The fact that it's a smaller resort appealed to me as well. Also liked the boat to DTD. :thumbsup2

Alright Friends. My DH is home from over seas early.:hyper: Mission simply... done!

Today we are at 139 days out. New number. Time is tick tock-ing on. Plans are still the same. My MK day still stresses me out. So much I want to do in ONE day. Even though we will go to that park twice. I am having a hard time with "I WANT TO DO IT ALL".

How are you doin'?

Super News - Love Family Reunions..:cool1: Have a Super Day:goodvibes

I am glad that your husband is home safe.

I think I am feeling a lot like you. We only have 4 park days and I want to do it all also. This is our first summer trip and I am torn between trying to spend the whole day at the parks vs. taking afternoon breaks. We never took breaks on our previous trips but we didn't have the heat and crowds to deal with.

Same worries here...thinking of adding a day so we'll have 4.5 when all is said and done...and we can hit AK for the half day and have an early evening too...

It seems like a tough choice now between break or no break, come high noon you will be ready for that break. We are summer goers, and those breaks are amazing!

Our kids are a lot older this time, so, naps really won't be a must. I am looking forward to more pool time.

I guess I have some built in time in the afternoons depending on when I schedule FP+ times...and dinners are generally later or quick service, so...we will play it by ear I suppose.

We are spending 3 weeks in Disney this July, so excited! We are doing BLT (our dvc home resort) July 9-17, probably switching to CBR (hoping for summer deals) July 17-24 and finishing our stay off at BWV July 24-30!

We also use to use the breaks for pool time.
Can't do breaks anymore :( bc our condo is a half hour away. We usually just spend the mornings or go at night. We are never there mid afternoon in the hot summer heat.

:welcome: to our group! Oh how I would love to go for that long a period of time. I could spend good quality time with my whole Florida family and do EVERYTHING I have ever wanted to do at Disney. (even better if I were to have an unlimited budget too ;) ) When you settle in and want to share any ADR's or touring plans I will post those. As for right now, I will get you on the front page with all our other attendees!

Me too :thumbsup2 My mom and I were talking last night about what it would be like to actually go to Disney when it wasn't crowded. Ah, to dream :) :)

I've heard there's really no slow times anymore. It's just always crowded. :(
We've been the last couple weeks of August before. The first time we went never even needed a FP but the last time it was just as crowded as other times. So I think peak and slow times are really changing. It's not what it used to be.

Well, GOOD! I don't feel so bad then :rotfl:

Teacher here too. That's why we do Disney in the heat! :)

Ditto :)
We also go every school vacation when flights are most expensive :(. We are driving in April.

So happy to have so many kindred spirits on the boards. BTW, I just couldn't imagine driving to Orlando. :rotfl2:
