~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

Busy day tomorrow! We have to pack all the clothes, buy snacks for the road, pick up my car from the mechanic we had it tuned up since we are driving thorough like 4states.

Not long now!

We decided to add a park hopper for one day so we will get some extra time at MK and so we won't miss Wishes because of our late BOG reservation. I am so excited!

I had to go buy really nice tennis shoes today so my feet won't get tired with all the walking. We are planning 2 days at Universal and 3 days at WDW. Add to that, we will have 1 1/2 days driving both to Orlando and back. I'm going to be tired my first day back at work but totally worth it.

Have fun! I just wanted to mention that if you have 3 day tickets to WDW and add park hopper, you can't add it to just one day. It's all or nothing. You can only USE the hopper one day, but wanted to make sure you knew that you'll be paying for the multi-day hopper, not the single day hopper.

I think we had to buy two days without a hopper and then a single day with a hopper but they worked it out for us. It was still cheaper I believe then three days with a hopper as we don't need a hopper but for just one day.

My husband was on the phone for a while with the ticket agent and they worked it out. I hope! We are picking the tickets up early at Downtown Disney so we will doublecheck it.

9 more days!!!!!!!!! EEeeeeeek!

I added the Memory Maker to our package the other day and yesterday I got the limo all settled for our surprise!

Plan is: Jan 6th is the first day back to school after the Christmas break. I will get the kids up as usual and drive them to school. Speed back home and PACK! I will have just about an hour before the limo arrives at 10am! Then we will drive over to the school and SURPRISE them with the fact that TODAY IS THE DAY and we're leaving for Disney World. I'm making a sign at work and hiding it in my jeep the night before the surprise.

I'm working on a shirt design for the kids right now. Also trying to sneak certain items out of their clothes to wash and hide in my room. This whole surprise is making it VERY difficult to pack. lol I won't be able to get the luggage out of the shed until that morning! I'm gonna need to be very organized so I don't forget anything!

I think you're right. You can't just add a park hopper to one day but you can buy a 1 day park hooper and then buy a 2 day regular ticket. It works out to around $1500 something but if you did a 3 day park hopper it's more like $1690.

How exciting! They're going to be so thrilled.

We're counting down together, I've got 9 days, too! Today I'm going shopping for a new pair of sneakers. Hopefully a week is enough time to break them in!

We just decided to book a trip to WL. I made the reservation just two days ago, Dec 26th. I customized our MB's right away and they shipped the next day, Dec 27th. Our trip is Jan 23rd to 27th, less than four weeks away. :yay:

We arrive on Jan. 28 and didn't get a flash drive either. I'm wondering if the recipient of the flash drive is dependent upon how much planning/magic band/fastpass customization the user already did. In other words, by doing what I should have been doing, Disney figured I didn't need a flash drive to get me started. LOL

We got a flash drive for our March trip and we had just been at the WL the first week of December. There is some speculation that people who book through a travel agent are not getting flash drives.

I think it is like $20 dollars cheaper a ticket which equals a extra $100 since we have 5 of us. If we thought we might use the park hoppers on the other days, we would pay the extra. I mean at this point between Universal with Express and WDW we are dropping big money on tickets anyway!

1st day 12/30 late arrival will be downtown Disney to pick up tickets, shop and maybe Disney Quest ( a favorite of my boys)
2nd day 12/31 will be Universal with Express as it will be crowded
3rd day 1/1 will be IOA with Express as again it will be crowded
4th day 1/2 will be HS with Fantasmic dinner package then go to MK for Wishes and maybe ride some Fantasyland rides afterwards (long day, whew!)
5th day 1/3 will be all MK and our late dinner BOG reservation
6th day 1/4 will be AK till 3 or 4pm then drive home

That is so cool! Too bad I am a teacher and can't be gone that long right after the holiday break. We have to go when it's busy. :goodvibes Plus sadly my high school boys can't miss that much school. They already missed two days for a New Orleans wedding and with the stomach flu.

I booked online for all my upcoming trips.....Jan, June and Sept and no flash drive here

Thanks! I am just so excited I can't wait for the day to get here. But I'm starting to get the "nerves" that started about a week before our first trip. Like butterflies. This time it's just me and my kids but last time my parents went too.

I can't believe we only have (almost) only 8 more days!!!!

I have a VERY flat pair of flip flop sandals and they seem to be the ONLY thing my feet like to be in! lol I wore them 8+ hours a day in my clothing store (tiles on top of cement flooring) and nothing. It becomes winter and I have to wear shoes and I've been through 6 pairs of shoes/boots before I finally found a pair that doesn't kill my feet after 4 hours. Better believe I have those silly flip flops packed for Disney! lol

Thank you! I am pretty darn excited for the actual surprise moment to happen and actually kinda excited myself for them to get a ride in a limo too! It's an hour ride to the nearest city to get to the airport!

I'm lucky that this semester (other than English) my son (16 yrs old) has only easy classes. Graphic design, website design and Cooking. His English teacher is going to let him write a paper. Not sure about what yet. And his cooking teacher gave him a project of doing a review on one of the restaurants we go too. So we're gonna print the menu. Maybe even find the recipe for what he eats. Take pictures of it. All that good stuff.

My other 2 are 7 and 10 and their teachers have requested them to write in a journal for every day we are there. I will get pictures printed as soon as we get back and then that weekend they can put them all together. Their teachers said they will have them do a little presentation of their trip to the class. :)

That's really great! I had to do something similar when I was 13 and missed a couple of weeks of school to go on an extended trip to the orient. I love as an adult reading that journal.

Been following this thread but haven't posted much....

It's official! 1/25-1/31 PORFQ!!

Dining Ressies are made, working on FP+.

Also, for those of you interested, I'm doing an Interactive Video Dining Review this year like I did on my last trip in 2012 (Check out the link in my sig for 2012's). I'll take votes daily on what to order for our reservation that night and review it live each night. Would love to have ya'll over to the new thread!!

Eleven days to go for me!

I've been thinking so much about the WDW Half Marathon that this trip is planned around - that I almost forget we have a trip to Disney to look forward to as well! :goodvibes

I keep checking the weather forecast here, in the hope that there is none of the 'white stuff' coming... UK roads/airports don't tend to do very well if it snows :( and I really want to fly to Orlando next month ;)

22 days for me... until we start the drive. We leave after dinner on the 21st. We will drive from PA to Georgia for the first stretch... spend the day/night at The Hampton to recharge and then finish the drive early on the 23rd... check into the beach Club villas for the night and spend that first day in Epcot. The 24th we check into Bay Lake Tower for our remaining 7 nights!! So excited!!! I have two large busy bags made up for my 2 year old daughter to keep her happy and busy during the car ride and our hotel stay in Georgia... also a dvd player and a ton of Disney movies for the drive. I also took advantage of The Disney Store's semi-annual sale this past weekend and bought my daughter a bunch of t-shirts for the trip. So glad to be going back!!!
