**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

I can't believe January is going to be here so soon. I am slowly checking everything off my to-do list. I think I'm going to get a new point and shoot camera today from one of the Cyber Monday sales. :)

How's everyone else doing? Getting excited?!

Getting really excited for our trip!!! Now that Thanksgiving is over, I'm turning my attention to Christmas gifts. The one that I'm really concerned about is the kids big present that "announces" our trip!!!

I'm trying to make an itinerary today to print out for them, but I'm having a hard time finding Disney clipart borders. I can find tons of Disney clipart, but no borders.

January is coming so fast! I'm really looking forward to my trip, I just don't want to rush the holidays.

1 month - 1 week - 1 day left!! Woo Hoo!! :woohoo:

I am so excited and I can't believe how quickly the time is flying! We're leaving to go home for Christmas in a little over 3 weeks, staying there for a week, which always flys by so quickly!, and then we'll be home for just over 2 weeks before we leave for Disney World.

I'm actually starting to panic a little thinking I only have 6 more weekends left. And those weekends will be taken up mostly with Christmas decorating, Christmas shopping, a Christmas party and Christmas. That doesn't leave me much time to organize everything and pack. I normally buy stuff for the trip and just throw it in the suitcase but this year I need my suitcase for Christmas, so I'll have to wait until we get home to even start packing. I know it sounds crazy, but 2 weeks is last minute to me

Right now, I'm keeping an eye on rental car prices. They're starting to slowly fall now, and according to the transportation board, should really plummet soon.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is doing well!

We have 59 days left as of today! :cool1: To top it off, we're thinking of extending our trip.

Another January trip here! I can't wait!! I will be going with my sister and her family. Little ones are 7 and 2 and they don't know we are going yet. My sister is going to surprise them on Christmas, I can't wait to see their reactions. We are staying off-property but are going for a whole week!

I can totally relate. I have a box that I was throwing everything into so it could all be in one place but I recently moved everything to the bags that I plan to take with us. My kids are 90% packed for the trip :rotfl:

45 days today and we are all excited. I love going in Jan. or Feb. The rush of the holidays keeps my mind off the wait. LOL I ordered new luggage on Black Friday and I can't wait to take it on its Maiden Tour to Disney. WOO HOO :cool1:

Sounds like everyone is ready to go! I love December so much, I really don't want to rush through all of the great holiday things we enjoy.

40 days and counting and I am beyond ready to go. January can't get here fast enough.

Yes, I agree!! We love the holidays in our house soooo much - a January trip just seems to keep the festivities going for us this year! But I will admit, I'm a crafter and am making some homemade gifts this year (quilts, hairbows, etc). It is KILLING me not to start on my 3 girls' outfits for the trip yet!!!

I jumped the gun on this one! My Amazon trigger finger just couldn't wait!:surfweb: But I got a really good deal and did all my "big" shopping for DD's at the same time and got everything they wanted in one order! And yeah...totally excited for this vacation!!

See, this is the part that is killing me with our surprise! I don't know if we will be able to keep it all from the girls. We usually have a box on the go for the month or two leading up to the trip. No box, no suitcase...and not to mention that they are going to be home from school for a week and a half leading up to the trip. Are we crazy to even attempt this? :confused3:eek:

I don't think you're crazy but I think you're going to have to be super organized. If I was you, I'd probably make a detailed packing list now. And then look at the list maybe every week or so just to make sure I didn't forget anything or need to add something I didn't think of earlier. Kind of like when I start to pack a month early and I keep looking at everything in the suitcase, then I'll remember, Oh, I forgot this, better throw it in. Same concept, just on paper instead of in the luggage. :)

And, if possible, maybe you can take things they won't miss, like swimsuits, and stash them somewhere they won't look, like maybe in a box in the top of your closet or if you have extra room in your linen or coat closet?

And you can always use what my DH tells me. We're not going out to the boonies or somewhere uncivilized. If you forget something, it's not the end of the world. They have Wal Marts and Targets. So quit stressing about it. :lmao: Although this is coming from the man who ALWAYS forgets to pack something, whether it be sleep bottoms, swim suit or a belt, so maybe it's not sound advice. ;)

Okay, I like this idea. Thanks for the tip. I think I will use the pretense of cleaning out their closets to grab stuff and put it elsewhere!:cool2: Organization has never been my strongpoint..so I'm going to have to be sneaky!:rolleyes1
