They showed him again later. I don't remember if it was between quarters or what. I think he was shooting hoops or something on the court. Not sure because right as I glanced up, he was gone and they were showing other celebs.

“American Idol” David Cook may be a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan, but last night he knew his performance singing the national anthem before Game 3 was going to be part of hoop history.

“It’s the Lakers and the Celtics,” said the new Idol and all-around sports fan. “I think this is one of those quintessential rivalries in sports. I’m just honored to be here.”

Got any predictions, Dave?

“I think its going to go seven games, and then it’s whoever shows up,” he said, adding that he did hope to say hey to Celtics’ Big Ticket Kevin Garnett last night.

The Missouri boy, who grew up Idolizing Jeff Hornacek, said pulling the oh-say-can-you-see duty at the NBA Finals is among the Top 3 coolest things he’s done since being crowned American Idol.

He put visiting a children’s hospital in New York and appearing on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno as his first and second picks.

Off all the Bull's to idolize....Jeff Hornacek????...He was good....Did DC play HS basketball, I know he played baseball...if he did I wonder if he wiped the side of his face like Hornacek did before every free throw....Hornacek was a good player but come on...Jordan, Scottie Pippie, Paxson, Kerr, Grant, Rodman...and you you like Horny

FYI-Hornacek was never a Bull. He is from Elmhurst, IL (Chicago suburb), but he played for the Sixers and the Jazz.

I was thinking that...I thought it was him and Stockton and Malone but I thought maybe he spent a season or 2 with the bulls early or late in his carear...
