First of all, I hope it is okay that I post this here instead of on the "official" trip report board-I mostly visit this board-it feels more "homey."

3/2/10 We left Chicago Midway airport and arrived in Tampa, Fl 10 minutes early. Albert was a dreamboat on the flight. He slept, played with his Mickey plush and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse-thamks Momma for bringing that laptop! He never needed to be changed, fed or comforted at all. He thought the view from the window was funny! :rotfl:
We made a quick stop in the bathroom for a diaper change for Albert not Amy! :lmao: By the time we made it to the baggage claim, airport security was taking our luggage off the rack as "unclaimed!" :scared1: It couldn't have been more than 20 minutes since we landed. Apparently at Tampa Airport you damn well better be speedy.
After grabbing our luggage out of the hands of one very crabby security person, we headed to pick up our rental car. In the past I have always prepaid for our rental car. Unfortunately, I did not this time-I just secured the reservation with a credit card. Apparently, I am still a naive traveler. :rolleyes1 I did not know, in that case, they would charge my credit card an additional 40% of the total until the car was returned. Needless to say, my credit card did not have $1100.00 of available credit. I know...I know...I'm a bad girl! By the way, this is a fact Amy didn't need to know! Anyway, they insisted on cancelling the reservation and needed another credit card to make a new reservation. I was irritated at this point and just politely said no thanks and went to the Hertz counter. We eneded up with a smaller car but had no problems with Hertz and my credit card. Lesson learned.....on with the trip!
We drove to our hotel which turns out to be just awesome. I would highly recommend the Marriott Residence Inn in Clearwater, FL. Room is large with a small kitchenette, living area, bedroom, large bathroom. Even with Albert's crib set up in the living area we have lots of room. My favorite perk-which will just show how "queer" I am-is the fact that the vanity area of the bathroom is carpeted! How regal! :lmao:
We headed out for dinner and a stop at Super Target for baby supplies and snacks. Made it back to the hotel and Momma took a bubble bath. Oh heaven! :cloud9:
By the time I was done with my bath, Albert had been fed and was in jammies. Thanks Amyluv! He went night night and so did Mommies. We were tired!!!

3/3/10 Albert woke at 5:11a.m. for a bottle. He went back to sleep for another 2 hours. Amy took him down for "breakfast" in the hotel. She said they had a nice spread: waffles, eggs, sausage, hash browns and the usual toast, donuts, etc. She brought me back up a bagel. Coffe, bagel and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! :rotfl: We are all dressed and ready to go and, of course, Albie falls asleep for a nap. So, we wait for the sleeping prince. ;)
The weather is only in the 50s today, according to the forecast, so we are planning on heading to John's Pass for a little shopping and probably dinner at Crabby Bill's.

I'll try to post some pictures later tonight!

Can't wait to hear more & see some pictures! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

How fun!! You're not far from me. How long are you in this area?

The first trip with Albert. That is awesome!!!
Can't wait to read more.

3/3/10 continued:
We headed out to John's Pass and did a little shopping. We looked like tourists-taking photos in front of the ice cream shop and squealing over a dolphin siting. The dolphins were awesome-I have only seen them in a zoo setting before. Priceless! We stood there for quite a while-I was mesmerized.
Had a quickie nibblet at Delrosa's Pizza. Pretty good pizza-considering it isn't "Chicago" pizza. ;)
Then we went to the beach to see the the Gulf. It was pretty but cold and windy. Amy did put her feet in but Albert and I opted not to-maybe tomorrow we'll try again.
Headed back to the hotel and rested for a while-Albert should have taken a nap but decided he was having too much fun to give in so we didn't push it and got ready for dinner.
Dinner was at Crabby Bill's. I had oysters and lobster, Oy Vey! The largest lobster tail I had ever eaten. Delish!

Great pictures!!! Looks like your having a great time. It's been a while since I was down at the beach, when you live here, life seems to get in the way.

Awww..... he is so gorgeous!

Looks like you are all having fun! Keep it up!

Love it, keep em coming. The one w/ Albert listening to his inflight Mikey is SO adorable!! ;)

Thursday, 3/4/10
After a long night with little sleep for me-Albert decided that this was just going to be "one of those nights," :) we decided to have a low key day. We had planned on going to the Tampa Zoo but Mommies were too tired. Instead we headed into St. Pete and visited the Florida Holocaust Museum. As a Jew, it was a very emotional morning. I'll never forget the toddler shoes that were on display......the child was killed and the father went back into the ghetto to retrieve his daughter's shoes so he would always have a piece of her to hold onto. I literally had to hand Albert off to Amy and go sit by myself for a while to regroup. I'm glad we went-we will have to take Albert when he is older so he can actually remember the experience.
Then we stopped at Haslam's Bookstore. We found a great Passover book for Albie and then headed back to Clearwater.
After a yummy lunch at the Frog Pond Restaurant we went for a stroll by the still very windy and chilly Gulf!

After an afternoon nap we strolled around downtown Clearwater and had dinner. Mexican! Yummo!

We stopped for some ice cream during our stroll and accidentally stumbled upon the Chruch of Scientology. Now mind you, I am a very open and liberal person, but the Church and the headquarters was being guarded by security! We were just standing there and were kind of, admittedly, gawking-there were hundreds of scientologists wearing the same clothes and heading busily in different directions-it was just weird! Now mind you we were "sticking out" like a sore thumb but headed on our way but I could tell security was concerned by our presence. As a religous institution, I certainly did not get a "welcome-come on in and join us" feeling. I was afraid we might get arrested if we entered the "Church." After having thought about it, maybe the security was purely to protect them, although I have never heard of any violence being thwarted towards the Church of Scientology. It was bizarre!

A very relaxing evening at the hotel-watched Survivor, (yes I am a survivor junkie!) and went night-night. I am happy to report everyone slept last night! Yeah!

Soooo happy for you all! Wonderful trip! :thumbsup2

Friday 3/5/10
Today was a "down" day. We woke, did laundry, packed up and drove to Satelitte Beach.
We arrived around 2:30p.m. and checked into the Days Inn in Satelitte Beach. I do not recommend this motel at ALL. I probably won't be taking off my shoes and thank goodness I travel with my own blanket. Thankfully, we are only here for one night. My MIL is also on vacation in Florida this week and she is visiting her best friend. So, we spent the evening visiting with them and currently we are trying to get Albie to sleep. It doesn't seem like he is too in to that right now. :rotfl:

But tomorrow is the DAY-Disney here we come! :woohoo: We will be meeting Bubbe, Papa and Uncle Gordie at the AKL/Kidani Village tomorrow at Noon. Mickey better watch out-his number one fan is on the way!

Here is Mickey's Number One Fan:
