I think Sara Ramirez (Callie) is absolutely stunning in real life. Not so much on the show last night though. I have a very similar body frame and coloring, and it's nice to see someone built like me be portrayed in a positive way on tv.

I do think they were trying to make her look a bit disheveled tho. They do that with Mer, God knows. Even Izzie, as gorgeous as she is, never looks as good as she does as "Katherine Heigl". I like that aspect of the show, that these women look like real people - or real doctors who are working around the clock and don't have time to fix their hair or do their makeup!

Oh I agree. I think it's to show how stressed out they are working all those hours with no time for makeup.

Probably because she is twice the size of George. Why someone in casting decided to put those two together is beyond me. Not only do their personalities not match, they don't look like a couple. She seems too mature or something for George.......

It's funny how different peoples views on beauty are. I actually think the character Izzie is more attractive than the actual actress that plays her. I saw a picture of her from the Emmy's and didn't think she was nearly as pretty as she is on the show. And actually the same goes for Meredith.

As guess as far as Callie goes she doesn't have the kind of look that can pull off being disheveled. She needs the glam job to bring out her beauty.

I think she and McSteamy are smokin' hot together. Or her and the Chief, maybe? There was a time I thought they might get those two together. A bit May-December, perhaps, but it could work.......

I'm late to join the post-GA party this time, but just had to say how upset I was that Mer & Der broke up. If they love each other as much as they seem to, they need to fight for each other and work on the relationship. They just seem to be taking the easy way out, which is just going to lead to more problems for them not being able to deal with being apart.

I also don't like George and Callie together, b/c they are so mismatched, but I think it was wrong for George to tell Izzie he loved her while he was still married to Callie. I hope Callie is not pregnant, b/c it really seemed like she pressured George into trying before he was ready anyway. I don't think I really like George & Izzie together either. They are good friends, but I think that's it.

But I guess the show would be pretty boring if things went my way!

Alex's facial hair has got to go.... he's looking too much like McSteamy. Getting them confused now!

YES - it does have to go! Something about the facial hair on Alex is wrong…

I like the idea someone mentioned upthread, that maybe she'll be pregnant and it will be McSteamy's baby. Now THAT would be SOME storyline, huh?

Yuppers - it would be a great storyline… Perhaps Callie already has realized it’s Mark’s baby and that’s why she started putting the pressure on George to have a baby so soon… We’ll just have to wait and see!

I loved the ending with George telling Izzie he loves her! I’ve been waiting an entire season to hear him say those words to her… Is it going to work out - I don’t think so, but I’ll enjoy it while it does!

I was sad for McSteamy - he seemed lost, with Addison being gone and Derek dissing him. One thing is for sure - if Callie is having his baby he’s going to want to be involved in raising the baby… Remember his speech to Addison on the anniversary day of the abortion?!?!?

Mere and Der are grossing me out - I honestly could care less at this point if they’re on or off… They’re going to do the Mere/Der thing like they do every season - for me it’s getting a little old!

I guess I'll be the first.

Loved the Christina/Mama storyline. Whats not to love about these two terrific actresses? Sandra Oh in particular, she's just terrific. I was cracking up when she was telling Mer that Mama was in the hospital, and Mer was saying, "what, your mother is here?", and Christina was saying, "no, not MY mother, its MAMA!" LOL!

The meth clinic storyline was sad. Who was that actor that played the neighbor who was a bachelor all his life? I thought he looked awfully familiar but missed the ending credits. I also thought his discussion with Mark about not having kids or being married was foreshadowing Mark's possible relationship with Callie. I'm still stuck on the idea that Callie will be pregnant with Mark's baby.

Re: George and Izzy. Good Lord, are there two bigger dingbats than these two? Geesh. I'm sorry, I just cannot buy these two as a couple. I hate that Izzy went from loving Denny and being rendered incoherent by his death to loving George in a matter of what, months? I hope these two realize that they are really better as best friends, because I am NOT feeling the love.

Der and Mer were kinda eh for me. More of the same from last year. I guess the two of them are never going to be completely happy.

Felt sorry for Mini Mer last night. I can understand why Mer doesn't want anything to do with her sister, but I felt so bad for her just the same. I actually like that character, I didn't think I would. They do need some more new characters though, especially male characters. Its kinda lonely with just Dreamy and Steamy and Karev and George roaming the hospital corriders. Someone said they thought Blair Underwood was joining the cast mid season? That would be fun.

All in all I am very pleased with this season so far though. I really feel like the old Grey's is back. I do miss the presence of Burke and Addison though.....

JunieJay---You and I have alot of the same feeling about the show. I hate Izzie and George together. Tired of the Mer and McDreamy storyline. Mer knows her issues and need to get help. I really just want to slap her silly. I love Christina, Baily and Alex. Alex character more than any other has really grown on this show. McSteamy need to have expanded storyline. They do need to find another strong male actor to replace Burke, or let him return.

I wish they would bring Burke back. He really made the show. I loved him and Christina together. They both had such great chemistry. I would take Burke over George. George's character does nothing for me.

I have to admit to feeling a lot of resentment toward the producers of this show for firing Isaiah Washington. He made a mistake but did his penance, and I think it was unfair of them to fire him. I also think he's an outstanding actor, the best of the male actors on this show by a long shot. So its hurt the show from that standpoint. I doubt they will ever bring him back on though.

Well, I actually like the Izzy/George storyline...they are both kinda goofy, but that's what makes them interesting. I miss Burke with Christina...and enjoyed the part last night with Mama Burke. I am sick of Meredith and McDreamy....either get it on or get it off already....stop with all the playing around...it's not working anymore. Hope they have good storyline in the works for McSteamy....I have to say I much prefer him over McDreamy!!

I wish they'd fire/kill off Mer. Ok, I know, I know, it will never happen. I'm just getting so sick of seeing over and over and over how self-centered and *itchy she really is! I really wish her sister would get with McDreamy or do something to screw her over royally. She needs to be knocked down a notch!

I love how they've made Alex evolve over the last season into such a compassionate character. And I like the facial hair!

Eh. I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only thing I didn't think was beautiful about Callie were those weird bangs she had last season. Now that they flattened her hair a bit, I think she is drop dead gorgeous!!

That's so funny because I LOVED her hair last season. I thought it was really flattering and played up her eyes and brows. I think she looks terrible this year with the stringy hair and no bangs. I still think the producers are trying to make her look tired and bad.

As for last night's episode, I thought the George/Izzy thing was pretty anticlimactic. I thought after they admitted they loved each other, it would be all passionate unrequited love or whatever. But it was just kind of blah for me.

I agree that George and Callie don't look quite right together, but neither do George and Izzie.

I'm tired of Mer and Der. I always wanted him to stay with Addison, anyway.

As for Burke, I can see why they felt the need to fire Isaiah Washington. I loved his character, but from what I could tell he never was entirely sorry for what he did. He kept mouthing off about it in the press when he should have been acting contrite. It would have been really uncomfortable for TR Knight to have to continue working with him after all of that happened.
