The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I agree, Amy. But, her sleeping with Chris was just wrong and she knew it from the look on her face. Why do they always do that? I like Chris, I really do...just not with her. They aren't good together. It seems like it takes them a lot to act in those scenes. Oh, well...time will tell :)

That Valentine's ep is when I finally gave up on Luke. He was such a dork.

MM, I've been watching some of the old shows on ABC Family and I just saw the one where Chris blows into town on his motorcycle. I didn't even see a lot of chemistry then--or maybe it's because Chris just annoys me anyway. I did want to just slap her for sleeping with him.

Mal, Luke was such a dork but he did get better toward the end.

OH, OH--I thought of you both last night while I was watching it. Luke's "backcountry bag" reminded me so much of my Boy Scout hubby. :lmao: Luke had packed a first aid kit, freeze dried food, a machete. DH packs pretty much the same things even when we go to WDW! :rotfl2: Well, except the machete and he only leaves that at home because he can't get it through security at the airport. He always packs these glow in the dark light sticks (in case the electricity goes out), a bag with some snacks, and a big first aid kit. He's Luke without the grumpiness.

When Y2K was the big scare, DH bought TWO 100 lb bags of rice along with a bunch of other food and MRE's. He lived alone at the time. When we moved in together, I asked him how long he thought the big catastrophe was going to last that one man alone could eat 200 POUNDS of rice. He then told me that he'd planned on sharing it with me. :rotfl2: Okay, I AM kind of a pig.

I know this is off topic, but is anyone else sad to see Everwood being cancelled? It is such a good show with such fine actors. The chemistry between all the actors is so incredible, especially Amy and Ephram. They are amazing for being so young. There are rumors that it is being cancelled to bring back 7th Heaven which I thought had it's series finale a few weeks back. :confused3

I admit I've never watched Everwood...I may have watched the first ep but didn't get into it.

My dad STILL takes chemlights EVERYWHERE we go. He even keeps them in the car in case we "get stranded somewhere." It's pretty amusing :teeth:

I'm sure there are a few more Everwood fans here. I mean, a whole bunch of closet 7th Heaven fans came out of the rafters for the finale! (ahem MickeysMommy, Mal hehehe)

I was shocked to hear that there were only 2 more episodes this week. Didn't it just start up again after it disappeared? And I read an article somewhere that said that it had better ratings than One Tree Hill (which is being renewed.) :confused3

This week's episode made me cry, poor Edna, the last scene was so sad (Almost as sad as when I found out that the show was cancelled!) I really liked that they showed how Irv had impacted all of their lives in major ways.

I hope they do a good job wrapping up the stories at least. I'm sure there will be some Andy/Nina romance, and Hannah will forgive Bright and Amy will realize what a great guy Ephram has turned into.

Just think, next year we'll be talking about the end of Gilmore Girls. At least they gave us some warning for that one. **grumbling, stupid WB**

I must admit, he is a pretty handy guy to have around in an emergency. :teeth: The lights go out and I have no clue where the flashlights are.

Here's another question--I just watched last night's Valentine's day episode again. When the heck did Rory learn how to cook? I found that so unbelievable. The kid who grew up on PopTarts, tater tots, and take out can suddenly use a lemon zester? It was totally bizarre--like she's becoming this whole different person.

On the Everwood question--I used to watch it but stopped when Madison got pregnant. That was just too much stress for me. :teeth:

Hey now! Don't be naming names!! ;)

Yeah, the whole Rory cooking thing was weird. I took it several ways: they are illustrating she is not just a mininature (okay, WHY can't I spell that word???) Lorelai; they are illustrating how much influence Logan has on her; they are showing that she is really alot more comfortable with her rich roots than her mom is (the whole ep illustrated this, not just the cooking).

I think you're right but what it basically showed to me was that I don't really care for the "rich girl" Rory. :teeth: She and Lorelai both seemed uncomfortable in their scenes together--like they didn't know each other very well. It was weird.

I love the Gilmore Girls! I got into it about four months ago. I have TiVo and it recorded an episode as a suggestion and I got hooked. I also really like David Sutcliffe (HOT) and found out he was in it! (though I prefer Lorelai with Luke...)

For Rory - I liked Jessie (Milo Ventimiglia) MUCH better than Logan. I don't like Logan very much as a character...

I thought the same thing when I saw the Valentine's Day ep that aired - it didn't feel like the real Rory....

Well, welcome to the GG thread! We're glad you're here. :teeth:

You know, I go back and forth on liking Logan. I did like him in this episode (particularly the part where he gave Luke the necklace to give to Lorelai.) I think I have a soft spot for him because he looks a bit like a guy I used to date. :teeth:

I read that - even after it's "series finale" they are bringing back 7th Heaven, because it got something like 7 million viewers to watch the supposed finale. It bumped "Everwood", so there wasn't room to bring it back. We have watched Everwood since the beginning, the writing is superb. (even TV Guide thinks so!). 7th Heaven is just TOO predictable. Supposedly, Monday's finale is 2 hours, there were two endings filmed, one if the show was coming back, and one if they got cancelled. The writer (I think) promises to tie up loose ends. Boy, this new network really doesn't want us to watch! I did also read that some one involved in Everwood (a writer maybe) is going over to Gilmore Girls, so maybe there's hope yet!!!

That's really interesting... I'm a big ASP fan, I think she's an amazing writer and was worried where the show would go after she left but it makes me feel a lot better that an Everwood person might be heading over to GG, the shows have similar styles of drama, heavy on character development and personal interactions.

:wave2: Welcome!

I am a Jess fan too, as is Mal, but sometimes she crosses over to the dark side :darth: :rotfl:

I just missed this thread....

I so I am posting a bump!!!

(I have also been watching my daily dose of GG on the FAM channel.)

That was too much stress? Did you watch the season finale of GG? Geez, everytime I think about it I stress all over again and want to hit Lorelai. Although, I was watching an old episode on ABC Family the other day. I believe it was the one right before Christopher found out Sherry(sp?) was pregnant and I thought 'maybe it wouldn't be horrible if they got back together'.

Oh and don't know if anyone's heard this but I read in a blind item from Kristin, the TV reporter over on E!, that Lauren and Scott don't get along and begged the writers to keep them apart or something along those lines.

And now for the dish that’s so dirty, we can’t name names. We’ll call this one Adam and Heeeave. On a certain show that I talk about all the time, there’s a power couple that everyone loves, but it turns out in real life, they give each other the heebie jeebies. They were together at the beginning of last season. Then, sort of broke up and there was a huge twist --that all the fans went completely nuts over-- that tore them apart. Well this twist, it turns out, is something that Adam and Heave requested, because they were tired of powering up on the Pepto before those love scenes.

A week or so later someone asked if she could give a new clue about who it was and she said they were moving to a new network. She never confirms that it's Luke and Lorelai but come on, their love scenes are pretty stiff. Actually they barely seem to have love scenes anymore with all of the drama. It was much better before when there was just a lot of sexual tension.

Hehe, sorry this turned into a mini-novel. GG is my absolute favorite show. I even made sure I never had to work on Tuesday nights just so I could watch.
