Will the powers that be at GH have the courage to write a termination of Lulu's pregnancy?...Don't see that done very often. It would, in my opinion, be a REAL option for a girl of that age in those circumstances. The only other time I've seen it done was on AMC when Julia terminated the pregancy when she was raped. Other than that..it's the old "fall down the stairs"...and right before that they suddenly realized they've wanted a child all along. I think that they are portraying Lulu's dilema with such honestly... I wonder if they will tred into unchartered territory of abortion. The fact that Lulu is considering this option is already going against the soap opera grain. Also if it were real life..would Lulu be telling the entire town she was pregnant..and then consider an abortion. Is there a need for as many people that seem to know..to know...especially if terminating were one of the options you were considering? I would think that she could make her decision without having all of Port Charles know she made it. I just think at this point if she were as undecided as to how to proceed as she appears.. she would do what she needed to do and keep it between she and the baby's father..possibly a close friend or family member..but who at this point doesn't know that Lulu is pregnant. I just think at this point it should probably be known to as few people as possible..but then again it is General Hospital! Maybe she has it on a billboard near Kelly's!

I posted this a few posts back, Mimi on Days had an abortion about a year ago, but they had her talk about it, and then in the next scene she made a reference to it and then she went into the hospital for complications. Days really messed it up, I think they did it to tie in with the story line of her boyfriend leaving.

I don't watch Days much..but do catch it on Soap Net occasionally. I remember what you said about Mimi. It seems they take these type of storylines only so far...and then back out. Why bother then?...If all that will come of this is either the "accident" or "complications"...and the sudden realization that they wanted a child all along. Lets see something different. This is an 18 year old girl that barely graduated high school. .....? I think the writers have an opportunity here to bring up some differences of opinions and what is ultimately a personal choice for Lulu. Also..we are talking about Luke and Laura's daughter....they were a pretty ground breaking couple back in the day. I do remember when the Julia on All My Children had an abortion many years ago..and that was with a rape storyline..and even that was controversial. Erica who did this some 30 years ago has suddenly become the saint of all mothers and her termination ...has returned as the fetus was removed and placed in another person..unheard of at that time...not to mention ridiculous...and frankly sort of gross. What they were thinking with that one is beyond me.

I am not a proponent of abortion, that being said, I do feel that they are certainly portraying the emotion of a teenage girl faced with an unwanted pregnancy. I can understand her desire to not want to be pregnant at that young of an age, I had friends go thru that as a teen. I was adopted and had a teen birth mother, so I do suggest that there are other options out there and I do hope that they also explore those with her character. Anyway back to my point I certainly do appreciate the way they are showing her emotions. She is doing a great job portraying it.

OK, anyone else besides me want to stuff a sock in Alexis's mouth every time she harps on and on about Jason staying away from her daughters? She is REALLY getting on my nerves, including the defeatist attitude she has about her cancer right from the start. I'd like to see her put less energy into keeping Jason away, and more energy into fighting to stay alive.

The line forms behind me to smack Maxie a good one too. What a manipulative little home wrecker! :stir:

Looking forward to Luke's return. I love the Luke and Tracy scenes, with a little bit of Alice thrown in there too. :happytv:

I am right behind you as far as Alexsis. I am also so SICK of hearing the same dialog regarding the situation with Jason. Just how many ways can you say the same thing yet AGAIN, and AGAIN. It is BORING, BORING ,BORING! Frankly I feel as if I can leave the room when they show Alexsis..not going to miss much there. The very idea that she knows about her husband and her daughter and doesn't say anything...well..that's just out there..and couldn't get any dumber. She will have some weepy goodbye type sceenes...and that's the way this will go. I think they might even do what they did with Laura on Knots landing...if anyone is old enough to remember that. She will go away before the horrors of the disease strike. Alexsis is putting into motion who and how she wants her family raised. In this case she will of course miracuously return!. I mean they have had Monica have breast cancer..which was well done..and then Emily..who ...well that wasn't so well done...and now Alexsis..I think they will do something different with this..maybe that's why they are placing so much emphasis on her WHINEY repetitive, manipulative requests!

As far as Maxi..you are right...I do want to smack her too...but it's way more interesting than the teen stalker storyline. I still think it's kind of gross that she is after Lucky...since I can't shake it but..feel as if they are realted on some level. Although not blood relative..it's still kind of "icky" just the same. (I know..mature word! ha, ha!) :rotfl:

I heard a rumor that Laura was coming back. Does anyone have any information about that?

Laura is coming back in October ... that is a definite

I am with you guys about Alexis and her rants "Stay away from my daughters" she is driving me nuts! Otherwise she is doing a very good job with the cancer story, although the coughing does seem a bit forced for her.

I am really liking the Lulu story on many different levels. I can totally relate with what she is going through. They are doing a very good job showing how her family is affected by her choice. The scene's at L & E's yesterday with Nicholas & Em were very good.

I agree with Alexis and Maxie but I tune in everyday waiting to see
JASON AND ELIZABETH.......I just love them together, he is so tender
with her. Their relationship doesn't seem forced at all. I am also
curious to see what road they take with LuLu. I think Luke will help
her make the right decision for her. I am looking forward to some
great scenes between Luke and Lulu when she tells him and Luke
and Lucky when he finds out he is an addict.

Yes, I would like to help you stuff that sock down Alexis's mouth.
Maxie makes me so mad. :furious:

"Keep my girls safe...Keep my girls safe....Keep my girls safe.." I'm right behind you two with a big long TUBE SOCK...!

Count me in, but can we make it a dirty tube sock.

It just amazes me how Maxie was given her oh I don't know third chance with her heart and she was doing pretty good reforming herself and man now she is just a HO! What a terrible waste of a good heart on her! She should be so ashamed! And where is her Mom or Mac???? Someone slap her!

And this whole Alexis thing is ticking me off big time. My FIL was just diagnosed with lung cancer in the spring. Not once has he whined or cried or been defeatist about it. He just does what he needs to do and thankfully the chemo is working and it seems to be reacting well. So watching Alexis basically bury her own grave and crawl into it before they even START treatment is ticking me off. Way to be a parent!! Just give up before the fight even starts. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And watching today Jason looked soooo uncomfortable during the whole scene when she asked how not to be afraid. How can she sit there and tell Jason stay away BUT hey while you're here, be my support system?

Ok I'm done venting now. :goodvibes

I've read that Alexis will be going into a coma for a few weeks....I'm looking forward to not having to listen to her! :thumbsup2 Maxie is a tramp, but every good soap needs a few of those, so she doesn't bother me. But Alexis....geesh. Sometimes I think her only purpose as of late is to annoy! ;)

As someone who had cancer and young kids (kinda like Alexis, but I didn't have another daughter who slept with my husband and who was in love with a member of organized crime, thank goodness! ;) ), I can say that the writers are doing an excellent job with her story. I think people with young kids, when faced with a life-threatening illness, tend to focus on what will happen to their kids more than anything else. Believe me--it's very hard to keep one's thoughts from going to the dark side.
BTW--glad that your FIL is doing well! :sunny:

What is with Sonny and this whole lets be there for Alexis thing. Lets not tick off Alcazar because it will make Alexis mad. Give me a break.

I gueass they are trying to bring back the old Jax. He is now back to playing games and being a ladys man. It would be nice if Carly could really have a back bone and stay away from him.

Was it just me, or did everyone else look at Nic's arm pitts every time he was on? At first I thought his shirt was too small. Next scene, I thought, someone please turn on the air. The poor guy is sweaty.

LOL. Didn't Georgie even say as much when she found out about them? I'm pretty sure she said "We're practically cousins!" or something like that and Maxie snapped back that they weren't related! :lmao:

I know what you mean. My aunt just died from mesothelioma (cancer of the lining of the lungs) so the whole storyline is just a little too fresh sometimes. Honestly, she was not too optimistic and I think she helped herself along. She really only tried to get treatment for her kids' sake. If she had lived just two weeks longer she would have seen her first grandchild. :sad2:

I actually like the dynamic between the two. Alexis keeps saying that she likes Jason, she just hates his job. She's indicated she likes his honesty too. She knows he doesn't play games. I think deep down she knows what a stand-up guy he is, but her fear about her daughters just overrules that.

Carly and Jax--blah. :sad2: He's a weenie.
Carly and Max --yes! ::yes:: Give the underdog a chance for a change!
And I can't believe Luke really said that about Lulu (what she was telling Dylan--that Luke said he never wanted Lulu). What about how he was threatening everyone with a gun during the epidemic if Lulu didn't get the antidote? I think there was some creative rewriting here...

I'm with you about Alexis and Maxi, I liked to give them both a piece of my mind.

Jason and Elizabeth and baby makes three??
