The Official Gay Days DIS Meet - 05/31 @ PI Thread

Ok.. we had this thread before and it kinda died and I can't find it.

So.. here we go again.

As last we left you..There had been discussion of a group meal on the evening of 05/31 but I posted that I thought a reservation with 'dinner for 18' or '31' or whatever would be difficult. And not really a great meet & greet thing. Hard to talk to the folks at the far end of restaurant etc.

I then put a proposal on the table to meet on the top floor of 8Trax on 05/31 @ 8pm for drinks and chit-chat. That was countered by some seeking a quieter venue to the Adventurer's Club. 8Trax can be loud - altho I'm not sure that it is at 8pm... this is GayDays and that will be a busy night..

So.. Let's hear what GayDays attendees have to say. Personally I lean to towards the AC provided that there is an area there that we can relax without being interrupted for the show .. (I have never been)

My wife an I are at Raglan Road at 8:15 so we are hopeing to hop in at 8pm to meet folks from this board wherever, say hi, go eat at Raglan Road and maybe see some of the people we met later in the night when we go to the AC. I think we are being a little tight with timing - maybe I can change our RR ADR to later. We fly in to mco at 6:15 and have to check in at Pop to get our our PI tickets prioir to heading over to PI.

8pm, I'll just be sitting down to dinner at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom with my mom. So, I voted that I'll see ya later out dancing at Mannequins or 8Trax. I just read that Thursdays are 80's nights at 8Trax. How DOES one decide?! Ok, I'm gettin' just a little too excited!

Ok, I just read about 8Trax - so now I wanna change my vote. I'm still arriving precariously late. But 8Trax may have 80’s night Thursday. How can I resist? Mannequins may only get a cursory visit by me. Can one do them ALL and not drop dead at Friday’s theme park?
So, how are we gonna find fellow DISers at Pleasure Island? I’ll drop by the Home Depot (on my way to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End!) to pick up a lime green Mickey paint chip to wear on my shirt. At nearly 6’6” tall, I might be easy to find boogying down at 8Trax.

Just an FYI on Mannequins, if you're not in line by 9pm or earlier you will most likely have a 2-3 hour wait to get in.

DHB & I will likely be at AC (last time we were at Mannequins, HB was not coping well as the bass was just off tempo from his heartbeat and they were doing a heavy fog that he was having some type of reaction to). I'll be sporting an alien-green mickey paint chip somewhere on my person, so if you see two really tall, really big guys, both bearded, one black irish, one balding red head, that's us!!

Well, OrlandoMike and I met at the Adventurer's Club at about 8p. Each of us with our respective partners. We had a great time but didn't see any other DISers. We did make a round thru the clubs, except for Mannequins, it had a two hour wait.

AC was packed towards the end of the night. And the scantily-clad girl in the bubble at Motion looked so forlorn. The only people paying attention to her were the lesbians.

Mike has a pic of me giving him a smoochie on the forehead. Maybe he'll post it.

We stayed at EPCOT too long last nite, so we stayed poolside with drinks till the wee hours at BWV. Doing the same tonight.

Ya the bubble girl was pretty much a flop!
