Hey fellow feb disers! Im so excited, check this out!

That's so cool!! Keep us posted! :cheer2:

I called Disney yesterday to check what I had put for room requests, and then spoked with someone in dining about the dessert party. She was really nice, put me on hold to see if she could find out anything more concrete. Unfortunately, all she could find out was that it has not been extended yet (which we know) and that it would probably be December before they made that decision. :sad2: Booooo.... DS and I were trying to work on the itinerary last night, but it's so hard to try and guess which nights Disney might have the party, if at all, you know? Grrr..

Wow thanks for checking that Gina! I was thinking of calling and harassing them myself  but I figured between all of us on this thread we will all hear about it pretty quickly once it's released - we'll keep watching and checking the disney site for it :surfweb:

Yeah, I'm sure once they extend it, the news will spread very quickly here. I just hope it's sooner than December!!

And I just realized I said "spoked" instead of "spoke" in my previous post... Spoked? Really? I may be a 3rd-generation Texan, but I try to not sound like a total hillbilly... LOL  :rolleyes1

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this Dessert Party you all speak of???

You will find very differing opinions on the event, but for DS and I it's a must-do. It's held at the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station, and there are only as many tickets as there are seats sold. I think it has gone up to like $28 per person, which is a giant increase, but Disney tends to do that with wildly popular things.

You're allowed in (after a long line up, usually) about an hour prior to Wishes. They will show you to your reserved table, and then you can hit the buffet! So many amazing, delicious desserts... Seriously good desserts. :cloud9: My son wanted to take the whole tray of ginormous chocolate-dipped strawberries back to our table with him. LOL

They also have ice water, lemonade, iced tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and (I think) hot tea. You can have as much of everything as you want, and they keep replenishing everything until Wishes starts. After Wishes, we stayed and drank coffee and hot chocolate until the crowd thinned out a bit, and we never felt rushed at all to leave.

The view of Wishes was just incredible -- and it was unspeakably nice to just stand there on the terrace and watch without people breathing down the back of my neck. And Tinkerbell lands right there on the roof of the building -- she flew just feet over our heads. So cool! They even have a PhotoPass photographer right there, and we have some great shots with the castle all lit up in the background. :goodvibes

DS & I *hate* crowds, and love desserts, so this event is worth every single penny to us. I will definitely rearrange my itinerary to accomodate going!! But it is very popular, and only held certain nights, and reservations go FAST. We'll all be on the phone with Disney as soon as they extend it for our dates, I'm sure!!

Hope this helps!

PS... If you Google "wishes dessert party" on the image search, you can see a bunch of pics of all the yummy desserts. :goodvibes

wow, i just googled the Wishes Dessert Party, they so need to annouce it.

We didnt do it when we were there in July and watched the fireworks from Frontierland.

I have a total sweet tooth and all of that looked so yummy.

I hope they do announce it sooner than December.

Maybe if we all call, they will know there is a demand for it and will announce it sooner? :rotfl:

Hello fellow February DISers! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about our trip!! Although I'm sure you guys can understand :cool1:

We are 125 days out. ADRs are made, iteneraries ready, must dos have been put on paper, special surprises are in store...only problem is flights.

Cheapest flight I can find is $254. Flying in on Delta and back on Southwest. I have never paid over $200 for a flight before (except international) and am really hesitant --especially with the extra checked bag fee on Delta.

Have I just gotten lucky before on my flights? Is around $250 about right?
Also, do you think they will get cheaper later on or should I go ahead and book? Airlines we typically use out of Nashville are Southwest and Delta.

I have checked with Allegiant and they are cheaper. BUT I have to drive 2 hrs to an airport that flies into Orlando or fly into Samford and then drive/ride an hour into Orlando. PLUS I once had an Allegaint flight booked for 8am and it was changed two weeks before our trip to 8PM!!! Thankfully, it didn't really matter with that trip..but I can't imagine this happening on our very important Disney trip where every hour matters.

If anyone has any advice or experience, please help me out!

I booked right through delta heading non stop from detroit to orlando the other day for less than 140 per person USD round trip

We are heading with my parents and my 2 sons Feb 22nd. Flights are booked and the boys are getting there 5 day mickey tickets for christmas all i have left to do is sit and think and plan.....i think i am more exctiied then my 12 year old and 4 year old put together. Since I am a starwood employee we are staying at the vistana resort and just renting a car. If an employee rate comes avaible we may stay at the dolphin for a few nights but the vistana resort is so much cheaper for food and everything. I cant wait last time I was there with my parents was jan 1986 and now we get to take my boys....

i haven't booked flights yet either. I have been assuming (hoping?) they would drop as we get closer. I do have them on price watch and I know they haven't gone under like $250/pp. and I was hoping to get under $200. We only have 3 options from here -- Jet Blue, Delta and Air Tran and the Delta flights don't work for us time wise so that just leaves JB and AT. There is one flight (JB) that is a PERFECT time for us and it's always been over $300 *gulp*. I get the JB specials emailed to me and they're always having $29 specials so I keep hoping I can get one of those.

Haven't been on the thread for awhile. We actually had to cancel our February trip since there were just to many financial emergencies. Between a new water heater, a clogged tub, and my mom needed cateract surgery (the insurance will only pay for half) we needed to use what we had saved for Disney.

I'm new here---my very first post! I will be heading to WDW Feb. 2-7 with my husband and DS3 for his first visit with Mickey. He is so excited that he can hardly stand it! He keeps measuring himself every night to see if he's 40 inches tall so he can ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!:)

About flights, we're flying southwest out of Detroit and I think we were pretty lucky to snag $69 each way especially since there aren't bag fees. I'm thinking we're gonna need all 8 bags with so many different possible layers of clothing! Yikes! I'm pretty happy with the price though!

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip :(

JSUgirl, wlcome to the group! :yay:

Wow I'm so jealous of $69 flights!!

That is adorable. :goodvibes Welcome to the February party!

I am jealous of $69 flights too... I was very happy to snag ours for less than $600 total, which is what I was expecting to pay this year. It doesn't exactly help tourism to places or help people spend more money to stimulate the economy when no one can afford to go anywhere!! But that is a whole different topic... lol

Elizabeth, I'm really sorry you had to cancel. I hope you get some serious pixie dust your way and you're able to reschedule very soon.

Did you just go to Southwest on line to find these deals? I'm helping my mom book her trip as well and we always fly out of Detroit and really would love a deal. Are those direct flights or do you have stops? Please let me know cause that is a great deal there :)
