Hi all- just checking in we are getting closer and closer each day

Are any of you planning on surprising your family with the trip? We were thinking about telling the kids on Christmas day, which happens to be my son's 5th birthday

Any cute ideas on how to tell the kids?

I totally wouldn't be able to keep it a surprise

DD is only 3 and has no concept of time, so it's really difficult to explain to her when we are going. She knows it's after Santa Claus and after the snow. Every time she sees a castle or a princess she screams "I'm going there! After Santa and after the snow!!"

I decided to make some more reservations today. I think we'll head to DTD for a sit down dinner one night. I had planned it for the Sunday the day after we arrive but since that is superbowl Sunday I had to go ahead and change it. I am now trying to figure out where DH should watch the game. Last time we were there for the Superbowl we watched it in our room, but we only had two kids then, with four it may be a little harder to actually see any of the game. I could just blab on and on and on about planning lol

As for surprises - I would LOVE to one day, just don't think I would ever be able to.

Alli, I'm so impressed that you would be able to keep a secret like that all the way to Christmas!! No way would I be able to do that... lol

We do the same. On christmas evening (we celebrate christmas on christmas eve) she'll get a box with the hopper pass, some pins and a belle dress (we have an ADR for Akershus).
Sometimes it's extremely difficult to keep the secret, especially when she asks if we'll ever go to WDW again so I'm really looking forward to christmas this year.

My intent was to surprise DH with our Feb. trip. Did not happen.

the plan was to order him an Epcot shirt, and put the intinerary in with the shirt. I failed in my surprise. He called me one day and said that he found a nifty Disney Vacation Countdown app for his phone, and I blurted out the days and told him to put it in. He got really quiet and said "are we really going in Feb?", so I fessed up. When it came to him, I am glad I did, he really helped me to narrow down the TS meals he wanted to try.

I loved the idea of the dress and the tickets as a gift!

Hope everyone is doing good!! Busy week here at work and its only going to be busier.

Been MIA on here and I apologize! I've been super duper busy and DD#2 has been dealing with her medical issues (tubes in on Oct 14th). Hope everyone is doing well!

Due to hubbys work schedule and DD's school schedule we are going to have to switch our plans to May 2011. I'm upset about not being able to go during DD#1's bday BUT will be going for DD #2's bday and to celebrate little mans 1st...

I do have some good ressies that I will be now cancelling as well

I was really looking forward to low crowd levels and cooler weather but just can't pull DD out of school for as long as we want to stay down there for...I'm thinking about just making a quick trip up to NYC or Chicago with only her on the weekend of her bday now just to celebrate...

It was really great to meet you all! I'd still love to keep in touch with everyone on FB since finding fellow Disney obsessors is quite hard around here! LOL, you all understand my obsession!!

Awww... I hate that you're not able to go in February, Mandy, but I'm so glad you were able to reschedule for May. And I hope the tubes take care of the issues your poor brave DD has been going through!

We will be a POFQ at the same time. We are going the 13th-19th. And here i thought everyone was staying at POP, I was almost tempted to change hotels.

I'm so excited to have found this group! I think I'm starting to drive my family and friends nuts talking about Disney so much! Looks like this is a great place for me to express my excitement and share my obsessive planning! Yahoo!

My husband has a convention at Orange County Convention Center Feb 7-11th, so my DD (4 yrs) and I are tagging along with him. I haven't been to WDW since I was in high school (lets just say, that was a long time ago!), so I'm just as excited as she is!

Re: where we're staying... I have a reservation at POR. Tonight, my DH brought home the list of hotels the convention is sponsoring. They're all off-site But I'm going to try to talk him into staying at POR so my DD and I don't have to drive every day to the parks. It would be much easier for him to drive - right!?! And the hotels on his list are no bargains either. Guess I need to look for a rental car now!
