This is the DIS Oscars LIVE Watch Party Thread! Everyone is invited. Newbies welcome! :welcome:

The Oscars are on an hour earlier. So is the Red Carpet.

This is the last, longest, hopefully the best, live award show of the season.
This is when they put on the best dresses.

Conan O'Brien is hosting. :mic:

You know the drill if you've attended before. Load up on munchies & drinks, wine & booze are welcome. :drinking1 Including the Red Carpet, it's 6-1/2 hours depending on when you tune in and how long you stay.
Drop in and out at any time.

We have two Red Carpet channels this year. (ABC usually has exclusive coverage when they start airing their Red Carpet a half hour before the award show. At that time, E! will then show rerun footage of the dresses and the hosts just start talking amongst themselves.)

Start times:
East Coast (EDT):

The Red Carpet starts at 4:00PM - 6:30 (ET) on E!
The Red Carpet starts at 6:30PM (ET) on ABC.
The Award Show starts at 7:00PM (ET) on ABC. <-- Earlier start time!

West Coast (PDT):

The Red Carpet starts at 1:00PM - 3:30 (PT) on E!
The Red Carpet starts at 3:30PM (PT) on ABC.
The Award Show starts at 4:00PM (PT) on ABC. <-- Earlier start time!

This will be a NO SPELLING & GRAMMAR POLICE THREAD!
The Spelling Police will be off duty and possibly slurring their own typing by the end of the evening. Typos allowed! :woohoo: :drinking: :drinking1 And if your posts are still making sense by hour 3, you aren't sloshed enough. Or, we are as toasted as you are! :lmao:

Let's have another fun evening! party: :jumping1: :rainbow:

A little heads up for newbies: The Red Carpet segment goes really quickly on this thread. People are typing like crazy all at the same time, seeing different dresses.

If you post something or ask a question and it seems to get ignored, :( you are NOT being ignored. Everyone is just watching, typing & posting so quickly before the dress goes off the screen. We do most of the reading, scrolling back & posting back to each others' comments during the COMMERCIALS! :surfweb: Your posts will get a response then. :hyper2:

Once the show starts, it slows down to a more comfortable pace. Just hang in with us! It's going to be a great evening. :hyper2: :lmao:  :sad2: :thumbsup2

It's going to be political as usual. I'll see the highlights tomorrow during lunch. Enjoy the award show to all who are planning to watch tonight.

I’ll be there. My daughter and I are on our sixth year of seeing them all. It was a weird year in that while I didn’t dislike any, I didn’t have any that I thought was a definite Oscar winner. My three favorites are I’m Still Here, Wicked, and A Complete Unknown.

Just got a glimpse of Ariana dress and it reminds me of a lamp shade 🤷‍♀️

:lmao: I just saw it. I'd love to see her swish those hips around. I do wonder how she's going to sit in it, as that peplum will be in the seats next door on each side. :crowded: And what about the back area? Does the back side fold UP so she can sit back?

Ariana is painfully thin. I hope she’s okay.

I saw Wicked and liked it, but it doesn’t compare to The Conclave. What a good movie! Have seen a couple of others, but not many.

I love Cynthia Erivo. she was robbed of an Oscar a few years ago for Harriett, and also the song Stand Up from the same movie. An incredible performer.

Thanks for all your work on this Imzadi. I’ll be watching on and off throughout the evening.

I actually love this dress lol.

OK, just tuned in and haven't seen anything yet (well, just saw Erivo) but I really like that pic of Ariana's dress. It's structural and flowy/soft all in one.
