Odd night for an award show. But, after no Golden Globes last year, as they were boycotted by talent, media and creatives, and didn’t air on NBC, due to the concerns over diversity within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (which at the time had no Black members) and other issues of accountability,
maybe they just couldn't get a coveted Sunday night time slot?
However, they areback again. Err, hopefully new and much improved. So, it's that time of year! The Golden Globes are the official kick off the live award show season and our Golden Globes LIVE WATCH PARTY thread! This is my favorite time of year on the DIS.
Lots of dresses to talk about.

Some [drunken] speeches to laugh at
cry
or be forced to sit through.
And awards handed out.

Host: Comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award goes to: Eddie Murphy, a previous Globes winner and six-time nominee.
The Carol Burnett Award, a television special achievement award to "celebrate the highest level of achievement in the medium," goes to Ryan Murphy, a five-time Golden Globe winner and 16x nominee. He is a screenwriter, producer and director whose credits include Golden Globe-winning drama Nip/Tuck, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series Glee, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning anthology series American Horror Story and American Crime Story; Emmy-winning anthology series Feud, Pose, Scream Queens and 9-1-1.
Murphy’s American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, counts ten Emmys including Outstanding Limited Series. The second installment, The Assassination of Gianni Versace, won seven Emmy awards in 2018, including Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series and Outstanding Limited Series, and won two Golden Globes for Best Television Limited Series and Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series. Murphy’s FX drama Pose earned 20 Emmy Awards nominations
Golden Globes Ambassadors (formerly known as Miss/Mr. Golden Globes,) this year has been permanently scrapped as some jealous idiot wrote an article in New York Magazine about "nepotism babies," which are the children of famous, accomplished celebrities. The article pointed out a list of young adult children who perhaps got a hand up to their own levels of success by being their kids, and the access they have to more and better opportunities.
Of course, those in cancel culture, who has nothing else to do than type on social media while living in their parent's basement, jumped on a bandwagon of outrage. And now the GG's canceled the position of the GG Ambasadors under this negative "nepo babies" pressure. This position used to go to the young daughters or sons of the film industry's most respected actors, directors, and producers and are up & coming in the industry themselves due to their own talent and hard work. They had assisted by holding and presenting the GG awards to the winners.
Bono's daughter clapped back at New York Magazine's owners after the "nepotism babies" article when she found out the president of the entire company, Pamela Wasserstein, is a nepo baby herself. Her dad bought the magazine in 2004.
