The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

I was able to get some earlier FP+ at Epcot, but have found no additional availability at HS, MK or AK - yet...

After 10 years of consistently asking for Disney World for Christmas, my wonderful husband surprised me just recently with a trip. All 5 of us (3 kids, 10, 9, and 7) are going for the first time on December 15-21. They don't know yet. I'm trying to keep it a secret until we get to the airport. I'm super excited, and trying to plan like a crazy person. (He had no idea how long one must plan for DW). We have the dining plan, but unfortunately, there are no character meals left. I went ahead and made ts reservations for each night. And, I got our fast passes done right away. Any tips on how to score a character dining experience? We are staying at Art of Animation, so no characters at the resort.

Join our fb page, Magical Disney Christmas 2014, they are great people and help find ADRs quite often!

I decided that this morning I'm officially so sick of reading about going to Disney and just want to actually be going at this point, 15 days to go!

THIS!!!
We are 19 days until we leave for our stay at the airport hotel and fly out bright and early the next morning. I am so ready. I have pretty much everything to do still as far as packing and getting the house ready. I like to come home to a very clean house after vacation so I'm not dealing with mess on top of post vacation blues. But 19 days is still too early to do any of this stuff. I'll definitely be trying to get most of the Christmas shopping done next weekend, so that will be busy. Then I can focus on printing all the things I need to bring, changing money over, cleaning and packing. It always creeps up on me towards the end and the last few days is a whirlwind of work and errands and getting ready. Yet at 3 weeks out ..there's just not a whole lot to do but wait.:confused3

I have a deep dark confession.. I still haven't seen Frozen:blush:. We do a family movie night once a week and that one is on the docket for the last one before our trip. Look at my post count.. I feel like I should be put on a time out until I've watched it. Shame on me.:rotfl:

That is so exciting! I know it's a pain, but keep checking for character dining, especially a day or two before you need them. it would be wonderful if you could get one or two character dining experiences. Good luck! :goodvibes

Wow, that's great! :cheer2:
As far as character meals, I would recommend that you keep looking - people cancel and change plans and others reap the rewards for their vigilance. The park hours for December have just been updated and some people are cancelling their 8 am breakfasts due to earlier park openings.

This may have already been answered but I can't seem to find it anywhere....is Santa out for meet and greets in MK during the day or only for MVMCP?

I don't know to be honest. I know he's at DTD for sure, because I just read the schedule of times. But I can't recall him being in the MK during the day. Mind you, we weren't looking for him so he may be but we just didn't notice.

I thought he had a photo location next to City Hall - sort of near the bathrooms? We had a photo there a few years ago in either December or January but not during Christmas week nor during a Christmas party...:confused3
This will be our first time at WDW during Christmas week - woohoo:cheer2::crowded::santa: but we will miss MVMCP :rolleyes2

Those of you who have attended MVMCP, please give me your opinions as to whether DH and I should go. We've been to Disney World so many times. This will be my 5th trip this year and his 3rd! We have never gone for the Christmas season. We have a candlelight processional reservation for 5:00 on the 9th (our last night there) and I am thinking about getting tickets to the magic kingdom after the CP and going to the MVMCP. So they have a different fireworks show than the regular Christmastime wishes? Is the parade a must see? It's just the two of us this trip, no kids (well our kids are 19, 20, and 23 now so no dance parties anyway.) Is it worth the money to experience it just once? If they sell out is it really crowded or are ride lines short? Thanks!

I don't know if it's good luck or an indication that the crowds may not be too bad when we visit 13-20 December.

I have secured FP+ for 14 December for 8 @ AK and had multiple choices for Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjari Safari...I made FP+ for 17 Dec @ DHS for 10 and had no problems getting RnRC, ToT, and Muppet 3D...made FP+ for 18 Dec @ MK for 10 and had no problems (in fact changed times this morning on one ride) with Slpash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, and Space Mountain.

Maybe it's the choice of rides, but having a large group and securing FPs at 30 days out, I was pleasantly pleased. Now I have mapped our days in a way that wouldn't have been possible without FP+...old FP had to be at the park early and run to get FP multiple times during the day...tired just thinking about that.
