The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

Flights are booked for December 18-January 2. Christmas and NY's Eve. :cool1:

We've been for the Christmas season, but never on Christmas Day or NY's Eve. Soooo excited!!!

Should I book the hotel now or wait until the free dining deal? (If there is one.) We'll probably stay at ASSports this time...

SO EXCITED! We arrive 11/29 through 12/6 @ BLT. First trip as DVC'ers. I think I could spend the majority of my days reading, planning and dreaming about Disney :santa: We have a 7 yr old son and a 2 yr old daughter, so we don't go too hard, and take an afternoon break at the hotel each day. I would LOVE to hear everyone's plans thus far! So far, here's what I have planned (just a bare bones schedule for now): 11/29 Travel Day, Chef Mickeys dinner, MK evening 11/30: MK morning, Epcot late afternoon 12/1: My son's 8th birthday! MK, Be Our Guest, MVMCP 12/2: My 38th birthday! MK, CRT early breakfast 12/3: HS afternoon into evening 12/4: AK for a few hours in the am (my MIL will be with and really wants to see the Lion King), MK afternoon, Hoop de Doo dinner 12/5: MK, Chef Mickeys

What makes you think that a mmvcp will be on 12/1. Aren't party nights typically Sundays and a few days over the week and Fridays?

Staying at AoA Dec 6-12. I usually wait to plan parks and ADR until Dec park hours are released! In the past I used TGM site to plan parks around crowd level. Do you guys use another site Unofficial or something to plan your parks in advance? I'd love to start planning more! TIA

I'm partial to the hardcopy book Unofficial Guide to Disney World. There are a lot of testimonials, charts and graphs. And it's good to have in front of a group of people (aka family or travelling companions) so you get their opinions during the planning stages. It's also good to bring with you. I'm not sure if it's available on readers yet or not.

It's DS13 and DD11's 5th trip (they have MDE app on their phones and are helping with itinerary) but DS2 1st trip so planning around him this trip. Basically we have a list of ADR we would like but trying to do less running with DS2. We always did RD with EMH and also planned some around crowd levels. With FP new system I'm hearing longer lines and trying to keep DS2 happy so looking for a good site to suggest lower crowd levels for less waiting time and will try to plan dining according to that. Any suggestions for a good site that already has Dec park suggestions for daily crowd levels out? I remember TGM has it down to the day, we went the week of Christmas and New Year in 2009 and followed his suggestions and totally stayed away from long lines and crowds most of the week! I just don't remember if he waited until Disney released the park hours to post or they went by past years experience.

Thank you @jcemom! The way I said it came of kind of like a smartA$$. That definitely wasnt what I was trying to do. I more or less was hoping that they had the dates posted and the OP had that info. The days you have listed is what I always thought too. We have been counting on a Sunday or Tuesday, as I hear those are some of the least crowded days for a MVMCP. Mondays just seem like an odd day to have a hard ticket party night because most week long visitors will hit MK on their first full day. WDW knows that and will typically schedule most entertainment and later hours on Mondays.

:rotfl: The way I read it, you were hoping they had some inside information, so it came across correctly to me, at least lol.

It's always possible that the days of the week will change. You never know. I've been counting on Tuesday parties myself though, so I hope they don't change.

So excited!!! Going in December:goodvibes We will be staying at Pop Century after we get off the Fantasy on Dec 20th.

Rejoice my fellow JetBlue-ites! Jet Blue has opened up their Dec-Jan booking.

Yup we booked our flight in jet blue last night 109$ per person per way! So cheep flying out of providence

Wow, I wish I could find airfare that cheap. Right now, it looks like $1100 RT right now for 2 people.

We are your people! :wave2: Booked at 12:01pm the day they opened up the flights. So far they have increased a bit, so I am pleased with the deal we got. Syracuse to MCO direct - WOOT!! :thumbsup2

So we are going the first week of Dec. 2014. Does that qualify as Christmas at Disney? The parks will be all decked out in their Christmas splendor.
We're staying at POFQ with our good friends who've never been before. 7 days. Woot!

And hubby thought I was weird for getting soooo excited already! Look at all of us!! :thumbsup2 I just requested to join the FB group!!

We are going December 20 - January 3. I've never been away from home at Christmas, forget about going WDW! We have rented a house and staying off site though. We'll probably do a day at MK and a day at HS. This will be our 3rd trip to WDW but our previous trips were the end of February and end of March respectively.

I must confess, I am very nervous about all the crowds but if we go in expecting it and plan well we should be OK right? Really the only must do's are in the New Fantasyland as we haven't seen it yet. We'll run there after rope drop and hope for the best. I'm excited about just thinking about it.

We are booked for 11/29-12/5 at Riverside. This will be our second trip, our first was January 2014 at pop. We are excited for Christmas at Disney! It will be myself, dh, dd (7) and ds (3).

I'm an obsessive planner (although at the end of the day I don't really follow the plan ;) ). I have our daily touring plans down (granted, it's only a 4 day trip :rotfl: I know I'll tweak them in the upcoming months, and the past has showed me that I'll add and drop ADRs 14,000 times :duck: Planning is the best part for me - I LOVE it. I use a mix of EasyWDW and Touring Plans - I make my plan in TP, but "from scratch" (I just like the way it's set up). I also use DisneyFoodBlog and AllEars.net to *ahem* research dining (read: look at yummy pictures). This will probably be our last year buying the dining plan for a few years - PB wil probably turn 10 before we go next and she eats like a toddler bird. :headache:

Southwest/Airtran won't come out until next month, but I'm hoping for under $300 RT per person. A girl can dream? I've seen prices floating around $126 one way and that would be AWESOME if it happened.

I love to plan too! That is at least half of the fun. Waiting on SW too. They are the only airline in our area that has direct flights to MCO. It usually costs us between $375 - $400 a person. But, hopefully I have enough points to cover two of us - so I should I only need to pay for 3 RT tickets.
