The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

Has anyone found a good rental car deal yet? I need one 12/18-12/22 and am having NO luck :(

We have 12-15 to 12-23, from Tampa, full size for $240. But that was just for one day then prices back up. Still waiting for sub $200.

Please tell me I am not the only one that is super upset about the HM being closed for 2 weeks.....it is seriously my favorite ride and I usually ride it 4 or 5 times each trip.......:furious:

Honestly, it doesn't bother me that much. It is one of our favorite rides, but I also expect Disney to have to close certain rides to keep them updated. At one point or another over our past three trips, we've dealt with Test Track, People Mover, Splash Mountain, Barnstormer, Casey's Corner, Festival of the Lion King, and the monorail being down for refurb. It's just part of Disney. And, it generally means that you are there during a slower season so you have the benefit of lower crowds.

I understand, I am lucky enough to also be down in September so I can enjoy it then. But if December was my only trip I would be really bummed out.

I am very sad about it. We arrive the day it is closing.

My 4 year old niece will be very disappointed, she loves going on the "Halloween ride!"

Me too! We have a 5,3 & 15mo. old traveling with us so am disappointed that it is closed for reburishment.:sad2:
I'm hoping the new rides in Fantasyland will make up for it. ;)

Which company?

TJ
It is with Thrifty. But that rate is no longer found for me. Rates for cars move more than airfare. Usually two weeks or so before I find the best rates. I lock one in early I like and then keep looking.
Keep looking you will find a good one!!

:wave2: Hi. A little late to the party but we're excited for our first WDW Christmas trip!!!! We've done WDW many times but never during the holidays. We'll be at BC Dec 17-23. We're doing MVMCP on the 19th, Candlelight processional the 20th & the "sleigh ride" at Fort Wilderness the 22nd. DD will get to do BBB for the first time ever just before MVMCP  I'm hoping she will be able to get a Frozen dress for the party as an early Christmas present but I'm not totally sure about this...
Any way I'm super excited about this trip and subbing for ideas of how to add Christmas magic to our trip.

Hi everyone! Joining in on the Christmas Disney Magic this year. We'll be there Dec. 13-21 for our first Christmas visit. We plan on doing the party, resort tours, and of course, hanging out at the parks on a "loose" schedule. I promised my husband that this trip would be more "relaxed" but there's so much to see! So much to do! We can't wait!! :santa:

Thank goodness I'm getting in on the 30th! I wasn't sure what we were going to go once we got in, but we will be heading straight to MK so that we can get at least one go around in before it closes!

Oh sure... go ahead and rub it in. I thought we Mass-h*les had to stick together. :sad1:

Hello! We'll be there the crazy week of Christmas this year, 12-22 to 12-26. Paid off package today! Staying at Wilderness Lodge and club for the first time. We've never been during Christmas before. A bit nervous, but excited!

Will be @ MVMCP on the 19th too in coordinating clothes. Celebrating 10 yr anniversary.

I need some opinions here. We have a 4pm adr at Crystal Palace on 1 of our MVMCP nights. I snatched up the only CP res at the time. This is fine, except now we have to walk back to the front of the park to exchange our MVMCP tix for wristbands. Now I'm trying to decide, should I keep this res? Keep an eye out for a later res so that we have already passed through at 4, and are that deep in the park when the party when our dinner is over? Or look for an earlier res, eat walk to the front for the wristbands, that way, by the time we walk back, we will be deep into the park when the party starts?

Any opinions or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi!
Planning 2-3 days at the parks since we will be in Orlando anyway for another event.
I think we've decided to go ahead and buy APs while we are there.
Waiting for the kids school calendars this week before we pick the days and book a hotel. :)
