to the GRAND FLORIDIAN!

I had wanted to add a night to the beginning of my stay as our flight dates changed, but there was nothing available at the CR for the bounceback that I had booked. The only deluxe resorts showing availability for that time was the Wilderness and Grand Floridian. I know the WL is beautiful at Christmas, but I wanted the convenience of the monorail so I opted to quickly grab the Grand Floridian. I did NOT want to run the risk that I was going to have to stay somewhere else the first night and then move to the Contemporary. This trip is all about convenience, that's why I booked a monorail resort, and moving from hotel to hotel did not sound convenient. And to add an extra night and an extra day of dining at the Grand Floridian was only $264 -- I know I don't have the view of the MK, but I'm happy with how it all turned out. I never thought I'd ever stay at the Grand Floridian with my kids, but I think they'll like the grounds much better at Grand Floridian than at CR.

That's awesome!! I would love to to stay at the GF, regardless of the view! Especially at the holidays! I tried to talk my family into all (5) of us staying in one room just so we could stay there instead... they were not into it, but someday! Congrats!

Well, after reading what everyone had to say here, I went ahead and used my secondary email and saved a few more itineraries.........here's hoping it helps. I'd take anything right now (free dining or a room discount)!

I know this might not make you feel any better but I wanted to throw in a suggestion. I received my first PIN in over a year and I did save a few more itineraries. I also created a new profile with a secondary email however the PIN came to my existing account and email. I did this same thing with my husband and he received the same PIN. Here is what I think worked for us - on the Disney website, go under "Update Profile" right next to your name. I noticed some of our information and preferences were no longer showing so I updated them. I think the ones that made the difference was under "Communication Preference". I re-added Email, Home Address and Home Phone". I then saved the offers and about a week later I got the PIN email on each account.

I know this might be a long shot for you but I thought I would at least offer this to you in case you haven't done this lately? I know I had not and thought, 'hmm...I wonder if this will change anything?' and sure enough it seems it did help!

Actually, it was the morning after I did that they announced no more big discounts, so I'm REALLY crossing my fingers and toes now! (We're going anyway... but the discount would be a HUGE HELP!)

I was at the resort last month, and got a bounce-back email yesterday: saying I could save 20/35/40 % if we booked before we checked out --- but the email didn't come until 2 and a half weeks after we got back.
I called and got the discount for a December 2nd til the 10th trip I was thinking about anyway.
I am hoping for the free dining, but I'll take $175 off my week over nothing.....

We are going 2nd week of December, so I'm thrilled! Staying at a Value. So... question is, is the 20% off the cost of the room only (which is $82/97 during that time), or is it off the Magic Your Way pkg? I couldn't quite tell....

Hoping for FD, then we can decide which is best.

It is off the room only. So the free dining is a better deal. 20% off of 82 is 16.40 and 20% off of 97 is 19.40.

Definitely. Do you they tend to offer regular FD or just the Quick Service plan?

Either is better than none. : ) Really excited now that I go the first offer.

It will be Quick service for the values, regular for mods and deluxe. You can pay the difference and upgrade, around $10 to $15 a day.

I did the same in my DW's e-mail address last week. Is it a standard e-mail or something specific we should look out for. I get alot of Disney e-mails, dvd's, clothing, etc.

I too got the 20/30/40 PIN code today! That's better than my 20% off from AAA. I didn't receive it until I filled out an itinerary. It wasn't the free dining code I was hoping for, but maybe that one will come soon. I remember getting one last year around October maybe?

I wish that room discounts worked the same as free dining, where all you have to do is check in by the last day to get it for your whole stay!

unfortunately no, only the dining pins work that way i guess. i asked when i booked and they said i could only use the discount up to the night of the 16th. that's why the 16th we are staying at the CR for the one night, since it's the only night i can use my pin oh well, it's better than nothing, and since i am really holding out for free dining anyways...
