is he coming to indy yet????? agony, i say!!!

so hey gina...we gonna meet before this impending concert? lol

Brandie:

Depending on when the show is will depend on when we meet. I know we normally try to grab dinner before shows but if it is on a weeknight it will be a meeting at the front door of the fieldhouse (if that is where it will be).
OR...do you mean, like you and I meet for lunch or something soon?
UPN is channel 23 for us isn't it? I don't ever watch UPN but I will tape it for Clay!

And no one answered me...where are you finding this concert info?

Gina::MinnieMo

i imagine that people are getting this info from various clay message boards...just a guess though...

UPN is 23 i think. we have dish network with DVR...kinda like TIVO. so i have it set to tape ryan's show everyday automatically! i have 2 of them taped so far, but haven't watched them yet...lol

and we should meet sometime! i mean, we live in the same town for pete's sake! :) we'll figure something out...

no clay mention in luann today...

Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson Plan Joint Headlining Tour

01.13.2004 7:13 PM EST

Justified and Stripped is history. The next hot joint tour might as well be called Invisible and Thankful.

Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson will join forces for a co-headlining arena trek kicking off in late February. Tour dates will be announced later in the week, and a spokesperson for both artists said on Tuesday (January 13) that the outing will hit about 30 cities.

"We are thrilled about sharing the stage for this momentous next step in both of our careers," Aiken wrote on his Web site.

In a recent interview, the "American Idol 2" runner-up said he was proud to be associated with the show and fellow contestants like Clarkson.

"I think the public is looking for something that they can call their own, and that's part of the reason that 'American Idol' and Ruben [Studdard] and Kelly and myself have been successful, because we've been able to be an artist that the public can relate to," he explained. "And hopefully we'll continue to be someone that they can relate to."

Aiken's next single will be "The Way," his spokesperson said, a song Enrique Iglesias co-wrote (see "Will Clay Aiken 'Carry' Fans Or Show Them 'The Way'?"). He's currently reading video treatments from various directors.

And while Clarkson recently said she would continue acting (see "Kelly Clarkson Says You'll Hear A Lot More Passion On Next LP"), Aiken isn't quite ready for "From Clay to Kelly."

"I'm not much of an actor. I don't know, we'll see," said the Raleigh native, who as a child starred in a production of "The Sound of Music" with fellow North Carolinian Frankie Muniz. "Maybe I need to take a class or two first."

Fans are more likely to see Aiken in another reality show.

"If 'The Amazing Race' is ready for a celebrity edition, sign me up," Aiken said of the show he originally wanted to audition for, until a friend talked him into "American Idol." "I'm like their best promoter, I really am. 'The Amazing Race' was a fast-paced show, there was action, there was definitely something happening. And with 'American Idol' there's something happening, there's a progression to the show. Otherwise I'm not a real big reality show fan. Now, I guess I'm kind of a product of a reality show, so I shouldn't be saying that."

Clay Aiken Heads to Stuckeyville!

January 14, 2004
The hit NBC show "ED" is known for its wide array of wacky characters, but on the January 23rd episode, they're adding an "American Idol" to their line up of loveable players. Ballad belter CLAY AIKEN makes a special appearance and ET's CHRIS BOOKER was on the set for his big acting debut!

Clay, whose part wasn't much of a stretch, says he doesn't think he did too badly. "Well, I had three lines and I played myself, so I think I did pretty well, we'll give me a B+."

"I'm coming to the rescue of some of the characters who make fools of themselves and embarrass themselves and then get other people in trouble," he says describing the episode. "It's kind of like an apology from one character to the other one and he pulls some strings and tries to get me to come to Stuckeyville to perform."

The smooth crooner says he was a little surprised when he was first asked to do the show. "We got the phone call and the first thing I said was 'Ed, wasn't that the show we were up against last year? 'American Idol' was up against them, right?'"

Clay, who has spent most of his time either singing or studying for his degree in Special Education, says TV is something all together different from what he's used to.

"It's weird to be here and to have to be doing it over and over and over again," he says. "I'm used to doing the live thing -- you do it once and you get it. With this thing you do it 20 times to get one song done."

Although the singer's schedule has been jam-packed, he thought the show "Ed" was worth squeezing in some time for.

"It's a really good show and it's very family-oriented so I was excited about the opportunity."

For more on Clay's first acting job, check out tonight's ET!

oh dear god...i hope and pray that those aren't it!!!! WHERE'S INDIANAPOLIS???????????????????????????????

:worried:

We are hoping to go to Raleigh or Winston-Salem if Raleigh is sold out.

This is so exciting!

CRYING!! MUCH CRYING!! Wilkes-Barre and Philly and NO PITTSBURGH?!?!! Sigh. On the plus side, the Columbus, OH show falls during our winter break. Maybe the little sis and I will be taking a road trip. I feel your pain, scarlett.

Detroit isn't all that far away, but on a Thursday--it might as well be 500 miles! My daughter says I can call her in sick to school--yeah, but what about me--not to mention driving late at night. . .2 ladies (husband won't go). . .at the Joe! :earseek: I'm not real timid, but not feeling all that brave either! Of course, given the performers--I'm betting we wouldn't be the only two girls there without a male escort. :p

YIPPEE!!! Worcester is only 45 minutes away....when do they go on sale???? Does anyone know??????

No Toronto either. :( I'll have to rely on those of you who DO go to give us a full report!

i think tickets go on sale a week from tomorrow...the 24th of jan.

if i can get anyone to go, my hubby said that he would be ok with me going to the columbus show! it's a little less than 3 hours away...but i'd have to find someone from the indy area to go with me...anyone else gonna hit the columbus show?

oh well, not in my area either. I guess it was to much to hope they'd be at Radio City or MSG......... I am NOT driving to Long Island!!

I'll be relying on you gals for a good concert review!!;)

"I guess it was to much to hope they'd be at Radio City or MSG......... I am NOT driving to Long Island!!"

I have to agree!! I was really hoping for MSG or the Meadowlands. At least you can get to these is a reasonable amount of time. I wouldn't even know how to get to the Nassau Coliseum!!!

Well I guess we wait for the "Clay Only" concert in the future!!

Brandie- my sister and I are heading to Columbus. Providing we get tickets of course... THANK GOODNESS the March dates fall over our winter break! If we can't get tickets for that we may try Wilkes-Barre which is closer if we leave directly from college. So many options to hunt down Clay. ;) Does anyone have any idea when tickets are going on sale for the shows? I can't find any info anywhere for the PA/OH area shows...
