*** The Official August 2019 thread ***

Here now at PORS. Went to Buffalo yesterday for park and fly hotel, then shuttled to airport at 4:00am this morning for our 6:10am flight! Arrived at PORS by 10:00am. We requested and received building 18, first floor. I like the renovated rooms. We usually stay in this area (preferred section, AB room). It's near a quiet pool and the food court / lobby- we like to be able to quickly get to food court for a cold drink with our refillable mugs. Our room was ready around 1:00pm so that was nice.
Since our room wasn't ready when we arrived (obviously we didn't expect it to be ready at 10am) the four of us went to Disney Springs (Wolfgang Puck Express) for lunch-we had 2 different kinds of pizza, a salmon dish, a meatloaf/mashed potatoes meal and cold beers/pop. So good. Love having the dining plan and ordering whatever we want without considering the price and having an alcoholic beverage is a treat for us.
Had swims / showers /relaxed in room and heading into MK tonight around 4:00pm- we have FP for Space, Splash, Big Thunder and 6:30pm Crystal Palace reservations too. I'm hoping to also do Buzz, Laugh Floor, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, but we'll see how tired we are and if we can last till midnight. So nice to be back at our laughing place!

Sounds like your trip is off to a great start! Wolfgang Puck Express sounds yummy...can't wait! Thanks for checking in here. :)

Me too! Going to do the Droid at 9:15am - and the we booked Ogas for after dinner drinks at 7:45pm! Opening day! Woohoo!

So does a reservation to one of the places guarantee you entry into the land? Or do they have some sort of "subject to availability" thing on it? that would be awesome if you didnt have to like line up early and could just get into the land with the reservation.

That's being talked about right now in the SW threads but no one seems to have a definitive answer yet unless I missed it. I'm really hoping it does!

We were exploring WL last summer, and we stumbled upon Geyser Point. We absolutely loved it, and we are definitely going back this trip. I didn't realize they pipe in the HEA music, so thanks for the tip! Think we will make a night of it at WL. I wonder how late the resort boats run?
The boat from MK to WL runs until one hour after MK closes. The boat to CR and FW stops running at 11:30 pm

I forget what thread someone was asking, but in case it was here.....

RE: The coupons for mini golf and discounts at Disney Springs etc...that were normally mailed to you

I was putting our magic band in my carryon and was just about to throw the box away when something fell out of the side of the box. It was luggage tags and the mini golf vouchers, a "savings card" to present at various locations for discounts on merchandise and coffee etc...

So if you were wondering where your mailing is...check the side of your MB box!!

I ran upstairs to check and I got nothing! :( We're so close to our departure day Aug 27th, is this normal? I passed the flight info and final payment to our TA. I can see we are paid in full via Disney Gift Cards. Should I call Disney or my TA (first time using one).

Has anyone’s here booked the bounceback FD? We usually don’t because we have DVC and AP’s. But we are out of DVC points and sitting out our usual spring trip to wait for crowds to calm down- so FD would work this time since we can just pay to upgrade the required hoppers to AP’s when we get there in September . Now my sister and mom want to go too, so I was going to book 3 rooms at a moderate. Just wondered what availability looks like.
Not yet, but I will. Still trying to figure out my dates.
We haven't booked yet, but are planning/hoping on booking Dec 13-19 at Pop! We don't arrive for another week though so we still have to wait on that.
I got the notice from our TA about booking a BB. We just bought AP's so I'm new to that and have a question, are the BB offers lower compared to an AP discount. We're really looking for Room Only at Wilderness Lodge for at least 7 nights.

5 days left... wondering what is the craziest thing other people drag with them? I pack my espresso machine. Yes it takes up space and pounds in my suitcase but waiting in line at Starbucks takes precious time away from Disney fun!
We own two different types of water filters for travel, depending on how much room I have left in my suit case determines which one I'll pack!

Collapsible hanging storage

Stainless steel water bottles & dish soap
This is my thing.

They are usually pretty close. Sometimes AP discount is better. The problem is AP discounts are usually only announced a month or 2 before. So if it was me, I’d book the bounceback, and then you can always switch to the AP discount later if it’s better.

When are you checking in? Room only bb til the end of this year is available to book til the 15th. But pickings are slim at this point. The fd bb is available to book now for dates next year.

We just got home early this morning. We had a FANTASTIC time! We hadn’t been to Disney in 11 years and Disney with teens is so much fun!!!!! It rained pretty much every day, usually right around 3:45. A couple of days the rain continued into the evening. We just threw on our ponchos and our crocs and continued our adventures. We were able to sit down and watch illuminations 5 minutes before it started and had an amazing front row view. We park hopped one rainy night and we’re able to ride Slinky Dog with a 35 minute wait and then hopped over to AK and rode Everest with a 15 minute wait and Kali River Rapids with a 5 minute wait. We also were able to get on Flight of Passage with only a 30 minute wait that night. We were a bit soaked but we had a BLAST! And since most people fled when it rained we were able to relax and enjoy, what at times, were fairly empty parks. Pandora Land at night in the rain is truly magical. They did an amazing job with that area.

We scheduled our days so that we were back at our resort for a few hours every afternoon for a nap or pool time. At times it was hotter than the sun but our “spray fans” and cooling towels were a god send. We also had refillable Brita water bottles that we wrapped in the cooling towels. That kept the towels nice and cold when we needed them and my bag from getting soaked.

Hope everyone heading out soon has a magical trip!

In our case, the bounceback was better. We booked a bounceback for the Wilderness Lodge back in February for our trip later this month. The discount was 30%. When the annual passholder discount came out, it not only was only 25% discount, and it expired one day sooner.

It is always a good idea to book a BB if you know you are returning. Sometimes the AP discount is better and sometimes the BB is better, but we have had better luck with the BB. :)

I don’t know where my head has been. Can we be added to the roll call please?
Ksromack + dh August 21-22 Pop Century (for AP SWGE Preview)

August 26-30 Yacht Club, aug 30-sept 2 BCV, sept 2-4 Poly Studio, sept 4-6 CCV

I was looking to book a Room Only for 2020. We don't need tickets or free dining.

Yeah. Room only bb offers for next year are typically bookable at the beginning of November.

ohh too quick I was still asking....
So if I'm reading THIS right, the only BB offer I'm able to book for 2020 is Free Dinning? Is there anyway around that? Like book the 2020 offer now then when Room Only comes out mid-October or so, change it to the new offer?
