*** The Official August 2016 Thread! ***

Just got our quote back! And changed dates AGAIN!

Whole family trip is still on August 3-6 at AOA and then off site August 6-13 and then my hubby and boys are driving home & I'm checking into the Poly with my girls August 13-19.

Same thing we did this past August and we had a blast! :yay:
I just got my Poly quote for Aug. 14 - 26.
It's $238.50 per night.
Maybe I'll see you at the Poly. :cool1:

Just saw this August 2016 thread now! Thanks for starting it Budgie Mama :thumbsup2

We have our FD bounceback booked at PO Riverside August 26th- September 2nd. This is confirmed.

Just heard that the magical deal is out already! I'm thinking of adding 6 nights of room only (3 nights Beach Club and 3 nights Wilderness Lodge or Poly????) Decisions, decisions :rotfl:

Hi everyone! We haven't booked yet but are dates are set August 2-12. We are still debating whether to stay at POR or 2 rooms at POP, or to do a split stay until my mom joins us. Decisions decisions, ugh :rolleyes1

I'm so confused. I want Poly for sure, but I keep thinking free dining might be offered to Canadians earlier then the BB dates. If that's the case, I want more days of free food. :teeth:

Absolutely! This is us too. As much as I love the Beach Club, I'd give up the magical deal for more free food (we still have snacks at home from using our Disney snack credits:-)) Maybe I'll just book a deluxe from 19th-23rd room only magical deal and hope that us Canadians get FD offer and I can start it on 23rd???? If not, then I'll just extend (hopefully) magical deal. I'm with you. So confused!
Question for you. Are you buying all of your tickets on the FD package? I'm hoping to do that and then access them early while at deluxe resort on magical deal. Have you done this before? Easy / difficult to do? I don't want to buy two separate tickets.

I was thinking of booking the magical deal from Aug. 14 - Aug. 26. I know. Crazy right??

But I'm really hoping that free dining starts Aug. 19, so we can go for two weeks at POR, and then I'll still have five days before that at the Poly. I'm just dreaming (and scheming). If I do book, I don't think I'll tell my family just yet.

Right now I have eight day tickets with Waterpark booked for my seven day POR package. I know you can get your tickets at least three days early (and maybe even earlier I think) but I've never actually done it. I would imagine it would be easy to do though since your tickets would already be on your MDE account. Guest services would just need to activate them.

We've had AP's for the past few years, so I usually just get two day tickets with my free dining package and save them. My AP's expire in December and we decided to squeeze one more trip out of them, but they do expire midway through my trip. It might be time to redeem some two day tickets. And if I do use those tickets, I may as well upgrade to AP's again. :rolleyes1

It's a vicious cycle.

Ended up changing from the Poly to the Grand Floridian!!! It was only $125 more than the Poly -- and we stayed at the Poly last summer. Time to try something new!! :flower1:

Disneylover99 and OurLaughingPlace thank you for putting into words my dilemma! I received a magical quote of BC for $3000 (family of 5, 7night, 6park)...but no food. I am already trying desperately to determine what is the better deal. We have no cares which resort we stay in/at since we only sleep and hang at pools in the evening. I do know I only want QS dining so that's why I'm considering the BC this round.

AP's - I'm so jealous ::yes:: We only go once a year :crazy2: We also have the 8 days tickets with Park Hopper (don't usually get this, but as you know, you needed to add on PH or WP on tickets for BB offer) for a seven day POR package. I'm wondering if I can make it 10 days and activate them early. May need to call GS and hope I get a hold of a CM who can help me. Looking at available resorts, WL isn't offered (not that I noticed) for the magical deal. DD's are asking for a few nights at Contemporary. As long as I get a few nights at BC, I'm happy.
Good luck with your decisions!

We love BC! If you are doing QS dining, it's a great place to be:goodvibes SAB is fantastic! On our last trip, we spent evenings in the pool watching fireworks go off:thumbsup2 Good luck making your decision. At least it's a fun dilemma to be in:rotfl:

I think I'm up-to-date on the list, with the exception of @zokaluse - I've only got your BC stay on the list as I wasn't sure about the dates of the other parts of your stay (it didn't sound like they were booked yet?) Please tell me if I've missed anyone/anything! :)

We're hoping we can book our flights on Monday. It's all very nerve wracking, as the prices have made a huge jump since the amazing deal we got on flights in 2014. We want to fly direct, and are hoping to try Virgin for the first time... just need to get in quick as the cheap seats sell quickly! Eeek!

Flights are the hardest part!

Hi! My name is Bonnie and I love Disney World! DH and I have been DVC members since 2008, and we will be going back to WDW from July 25-August 4, 2016. We are staying at our home resort, Boardwalk Villas, in a 1-bedroom villa with our two sons who will be 11 and 9 when we go. We are celebrating our older one's elementary school graduation! The first few days, my parents, my sister, brother-in-law, nieces (ages 15 and 12 when we go) and nephew (age 2 when we go) will be joining us. They are staying in a 2-bedroom villa at Old Key West, which we were able to get them a discount for with our DVC membership. As of now that was the only 2-bedroom available to book through DVC member services for a cash reservation with a DVC discount.

We are visiting DHS and AK once each, MK and Epcot twice each, and Universal Studios once with express passes that we will purchase. The other days, we will explore Disney Springs, enjoy the resort and pool and just relax. We drive down from Brooklyn, NY so we leave the house July 23rd for the trip down. This is my nephew's first trip to WDW. He loves Mickey Mouse so much and we can't wait to see his reaction to everything! :)

I just booked the Poly!!!!!:woohoo: :dancer:

So now we are at the Poly Aug. 14-26 and POR Aug. 26 - Sept 2.
I can just taste that annual pass renewal that we promised ourselves we wouldn't get. :rotfl:

I just booked the Contemporary and the Beach Club  We couldn't decide, so we had to do both. Actually wanted a few nights at WL, but it wasn't offered. The magical deal is awesome!

To update our stay ...
August 19th-22nd Contemporary
August 22nd-26th Beach Club
August 26th - Sept 2nd PORS

So excited:-)
Now I have to see if I can actually access our tickets early from PORS free dining BB offer. I have heard 3 days early and I have even heard up to 10 days early. I'd much rather be able to do that than buy an extra set of tickets.

That's awesome! 12 days at the Poly:-) That will be so exciting.
We were struggling between Poly and Contemporary (as WL wasn't an option) and I couldn't give up SAB at Beach Club. I was out voted 3 to 1 on the Poly though:confused3 Maybe next trip:thumbsup2 I just try to keep everyone else happy so we can keep on returning to Disney. Definitely very excited to be on a monorail resort :woohoo:
