ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHH! All of this missed by 3 stinkin' days:

- New Soarin'
- New Frozen Ride
- Anna and Elsa Sommerhaus
- New Star Wars Fireworks
- Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire

Anything I'm missing that Disney has decided to debut all on the same day? :D

But just think of all the crowds and long lines you will miss? :teeth:

Seriously though I can understand the pain of just missing. Sorry.

The 17th is our last night there. I just had to rearrange a date night dinner for DH and I because he won't want to miss the fireworks. We will miss the new frozen stuff but DD doesn't even know it exists, so it gives me an excuse to plan another trip next year.

Trying to figure out why everything is changing on the 17th... Is there something special about that date? (End of quarter? Black out period begins/ends? 30 days from when they officially decided 2 days ago? :) )

Ugh, I am so crushed! I'm the family planner for a group of 13 of us, including FIVE little girls. For my three nieces, this will be their only childhood trip to Disney and we specifically planned it for after spring so that all this stuff would be open -- especially Frozen Ever After. They all have new matching Frozen Fever outfits and everything. We're leaving the 12th!! :( :( :( :( :(

Shanghai opens. OP thanks you too, Shanghai!

I know how frustrating that is, OP. We almost missed 7DMT a couple of trips back but ended up catching the soft opening. Fingers crossed that you have that opportunity.

Yeah, I was going to call this the screw Shanghai thread.... :thanks:

You'll still get to ride Soarin, you just won't see the new movie, but the original one will be running until June 16th! I would love to at least get that 1 last trip on the old version!

Hopefully you will stumble upon some soft openings. Keep yours eyes open. This happened to us at California Adventure before they opened their Toy Story attraction. We just happened to be walking by and they were ushering people inside. Pixie dust your way that the same will happen to you! Good luck!

We are still going 6.2 - 6.10.
Grateful to be able to go and hoping crowds are lower.
You cant always get what you want and you cant miss what you don't have.

WHAT???!!! Where was this announced? Since I knew from a while ago that we'll be missing the new version, I've been waiting on confirmation that they may be doing the old version until the new one is shown. If this is really going to happen, I am thrilled! I would love to ride the old version one last time!

Count me in with the bunch of folks missing out on lots of the new stuff. We leave on June 13th, with our last day at the parks being June 12th. I am crossing my fingers for possible soft openings, but I won't be holding my breath. For those who can travel to WDW frequently, this may not be that big a deal, but for those of us who can't, it is quite disappointing!

Has this actually been confirmed?
Yes, it was also announced a little while ago -

You just made my day!!! THANK YOU!!! :mickeyjum:goofy::dumbo::donald::tigger:
You're welcome! I hope it makes a lot of people happy! I would gladly take ANY version of Soarin during my trip, than none at all. Your next trip after this one, you will be able to look forward to seeing the new movie.

I was thinking that you couldn't pay me to line up with my kids mid-June to stand there and see a Mickey show in MK with the crowd and intense heat...ugh
Our last park day is June 19th
We will miss Frozen stuff
I am happy we do get to see new Soarin' and Star Wars fireworks (although I would have been satisfied with the older versions)
And on the bright side, we aren't in limbo anymore. Even if we weren't hitting that stuff, the news of Star Wars dessert parties being bookable for June and old Soarin' being available would have been enough for me.

It took us 5 years to get back to WDW, but hopefully it won't be another 5 years for our next trip! Seriously, I am still doing the happy dance! :yay:
