~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

This is completely OT, but ...

My husband surprised me with a day at Kings Island amusement park yesterday! :yay: I am exhausted today :crazy2: - it really showed me how NOT ready I am to do all the walking at WDW! :faint:

Anyhow, I have a million things to do here at home today, but I'll be back on later to officially welcome those of you who have joined and take care of the additions to the lists. :wave2:

How fun! What a great guy. :)

And, we are switching our dates again! After looking at DH's probable schedule for next year, the November dates were not going to work out. I am sad that I won't be doing the Jingle Jungle 5K, but I can't be too sad, right? We are still going to Disney World! :) Our new dates are October 14-25. Hope you all are having a great day!

If you want to have easy access to good restaurants, I would not recommend AKV. There are so many other deluxes with more choices.
We stayed at AKV, Kidani January 2013 for two nights. Our kids loved opening the curtains and seeing the animals. They tend to feed them in the afternoon so if you take afternoon breaks you will definately see a lot of animals out your window.

I missed what Mod are you staying at? We have stayed at POR, POFQ and CBR before.

I agree about the restaurants. But AKL and WL would be the only deluxes close to being in my price range. DH stayed at VWL years ago with friends, so we want somewhere different. It also needs a food court/qs for breakfast.

We are booked at CBR in a king bedroom and we are renting a car. DH liked the theming there, but I said double beds and 7 bus stops. He was not a fan of standing on buses last year, so he already wanted to rent a car.

Yay for Kings Island!! I havent been there in years. We love to watch the rides going when we are driving down 71. :goodvibes

Quick rundown of dining.. opinion?

2/3: arrival day, peco bills (tradition!)
2/4: Nine Dragons @ Epcot
2/5: 50's Primtime
2/6: BOG or Tony's
2/7: Teppan Edo
2/8: Chef's Du France
2/9: Crystal Palace Breakfast (hoping to get the Wish's party this night)
2/10: San Angel Inn
2/11: Tutto Italia
2/12: Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package
2/13: BOG or Tony's
2/14: Tokyo Dining

*Very* Epcot heavy on the food. We will be getting the Premier Pass (:thumbsup2) during this trip, so park hopping is no big deal.

Maybe my head cold is starting to cause thinking problems...I am not following you on :confused3

What I was saying is the new technology in MDE and FP+ has the ability to make trips much easier to plan and potentially enjoy... However... On the new site I was unable to book any ADR past my 180 mark (on site guests are supposed to have the advantage of booking 10 days of their trip at the 180 mark) it had my resort linked, the calendar dates were highlights... Yet anything beyond 180 days would not be accepted online. I could have called but I wasn't stressing bad about my ADRs. This has been a basic insure advantage for quite a while and the fact that they still don't have it right makes me wonder how they are going to get everything else right.... Is that make more sense? Sometimes I forget you guys can't read my mind ;)

Hi! We booked our 2014 trip the day they released packages. I am so excited and only 471 days to go, lol! Here are the details...

November 8-16, 2014 POFQ celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary there and my Mom will be coming with us for her first trip to WDW since 1987

They have not fixed this yet? I ran into the same problem when doing ADR's for the 11/2012 trip. :headache:

I very much disliked having to do it one day at a time..

I have decided not to go to Disney next October becasue we are going on our first disney cruise May 1st and going to the parks before we sail. We will be staying April 27 to may 1st at all star sports and sail on the dream on the 1st.:cool1:

edit: changed resorts that fast! staying at Contemporary!

She will be in 1st grade. I know she probably won't miss much, but I have read some stories on here about parents getting letters saying social services would come out because kids had missed more than 2 or 3 days in a row.

What state do you live in? I work for social services in SC and as long as you have given notice to the school that you will be on vacation you should be fine. She is only going to be in the first grade, the teachers and staff will probably be envious.....LOL. We took our boys out of school for a week in March 2012. I talked with the principal and let them know what was going on and why the boys would be out of school. He sent all of the teachers an email and told us to have fun....I think you will be fine.:)

We just made the decision yesterday that we are definitely going to Disney next summer. :cool1:

We usually go in June, so I will assume that will remain the same. On our last trip we stayed at POFQ and loved it. We are hoping to stay here again. It will be a while before we book, but I wanted to get back on the disboards to start reading.

We haven't been there since the Fantasyland Expansion opened and the new FP system was unveiled. I have a lot to learn. I am so excited to get back into the "planning game". :)

Hi there! Welcome to our group - glad you decided to join us! :goodvibes

I'll get you added to the list for June at POFQ with dates TBD. Once you make your final plans, just be sure to post so I can update. :teeth:

Look forward to getting to know you. :)

I very much disliked having to do it one day at a time..

I couldn't get it to work... Tried 3 or 4 different ways/methods... Tried the old site and was unable to link my room reservation... After 20 or so minutes I just did it day by day... Not a huge deal or something that upset me tremendously however they need to get MDE at 100% functionality....

I hear things like this - makes me scared for when my kids are older!!

Going Nov 15-24 SOOOOO EXCITED.

I haven't been in 10 years and I'm going with my family and boyfriend (who has never been!)

I can't wait for a margarita in Mexico now that I'm old enough to get one :)

Staying in The Art of Animation Resort in a standard Little Mermaid room. The Little Mermaid has always been my favorite Disney film.

:welcome: to our group and to the DIS!

I'll get you added to the list for November. If anything ends up changing, just post an update for me, okay? :goodvibes

If you have questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask - meanwhile, join in the conversation so we can get to know you! :hyper2:

Good Luck and win big!!

So here is my two cents on AKL. We stayed there in 2007. I have to admit, the day we checked in, and I opened the curtains to a giraffe was *AMAZING*, but it was the only time we saw an animal from our room. I dont know if it was worth the money.

For me, I am not in the room enough. I tend to sleep in, no rope drop, and get to the parks about 11-12ish and then close the parks out. Then by the time we get back to the resort, I am exhausted and go to bed. On the rare occasion that has not happened, I end up in the spa. I would like to get back to the resort early enough one of these times to watch the movie on the lawn at POFQ, maybe this next trip.

New Topic: So I just posted on the Feb 2014 thread and I feel like a traitor to this thread. :duck: Silly I know, but its true!

Hope everyone is doing good and the planning is moving right along.

-Kristi

:lmao: That's too funny, Kristi! Don't feel like a traitor. I knew we'd gain and lose people along the way, especially once the month-specific threads got rolling. ;)

Oct 11-25, we will be staying at FW! yayy!

plans have changed from Aug. to Feb. to finally settling on the time of year we KNOW is going to be awesome, with the MNSSHP and gorgeous weather for camping!

We had a great time, but sooo much walking! :scared: I thought I was further along with rehabbing my foot, but nope, not so. :faint: I've got a long way to go before I can even think of WDW next year and all the walking we'll be doing there.

As far as what is Kings Island, see here: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/ :teeth:

As for my husband ... yeah, I think I'll keep him! ::yes::
