This just in from CNN:

The executive board of the Transit Workers Union, Local 100, today voted to send striking New York transit workers back to work while talks continue with the Metropolitan Transit Authority, two board members told CNN. No timetable was announced for when bus and subway service will resume.

I will give this news a tentative :Pinkbounc , because it ain't over 'til the trains and buses are running.

My dad used to work for the MTA (retired) and called me to tell me not to expect the trains to be up and running 100% until after the weekend. You can't just shut the whole system down and expect it to come back up just like that, especially when it's this cold. They need to check all of the tracks and signals and go through a million and one safety procedures. Things will come back online SLOWLY. He thinks that the 16-20 hour timetable that they are quoting in the news is quite a bit on the low side given the recent temperatures.

I am going to work tomorrow anyway, I don't think they would like hearing "but my dad says that I should stay home one more day." :)
