Today is our 25th Anniversary. DD, who is 19, wrote the following in a beautiful card:
"Mom & Dad,
I hope you have a fantastic anniversary doing whatever you have planned for the day. I hope you enjoy the time spent together and the day off from work. Try to relax and cherish the memories you will be creating. On your 50th anniversary, at the party I throw for you, you can look back and remember the awesome day you had for your 25th.
Thank you for being the supportive parents that I've needed throughout these years. Thank you for guiding me in the right direction. I am headed in the right direction and I am not worried about my future and I believe it is because of you. You raised me to respect others, to help, and to be kind. Thank you for playing a role in my life and for pushing me to exceed to my fullest potential.
I know I may not seem grateful but I am really grateful for everything. Thank you for my car and for helping me through college. Thank you for dealing with my mood swings and the hurtful things I do or say.
It's not easy raising kids but I think you did a great job and you should be proud of everything you've accomplished. I pray that someday I can look back on 25 years of memories with someone.
Like the card says "no matter how grown up we may become" no matter how old or mature I think I am, I will always need my parents and I thank you for always being there. I would be lost without my parents.
Have a wonderful anniversary and enjoy every moment. You deserve it. I Love You,
DD & (DS too)"
...Wow! What can I say... This is by far the best gift we could ever receive. I just needed to share.
