Part 1 had us arriving in Orlando and checking in to the Pop Century resort.
Monday morning has using the early entry option to EPCOT. I drove us to the park at 7:15 to beat the buses. Guess what? We sat at the gate and watched several Pop buses go right by us to the lot. We were allowed in at 7:30 and used our combination room key/park pass. I kept waiting for a huge crowd to arrive, but at 8:00 we went to Mission:Space and walked on, then walked on Test Track. Mission Space absolutely awed us. We rode it again later. Test Track was OK, but kept stopping for various reasons. We Fast Passed Soarin' and and watched Honey, which is an old favorite. We rode Soarin' and let me say this ride is pure Disney: awesome picture, the wind, smell, motion, all incredible.
We left for the resort at 1:00 and the girls swam while I downloaded pictures and took a nap.
We returned to EPCOT at 6:00 only to discover that Future World Closes at 7:00. WE had planned to ride Energy any Living Seas, but that was a bust. So, on to World showcase and O Canada, my favorite 360 degree picture.
We staked out a spot for Illuminations and fended off late arrivals who felt we should give a spot for their tardiness. Yeah Right. Illuminations was as good as we remembered and we walked around the world and back to Pop Century.
Tuesday finds us Non-Wimps at MGM for early entry. We use the bus today ( My learning curve is linear). We ride RnR, ToT, RnR again, all before 9:00!! Early entry rocks! The multi drops at the ToT is new for us as 10 years ago it was just 1 drop. We ride all of our old favorites: Muppets, Great movie Ride, Backlot( my girls were chosen as extras), Star Tours, etc. My 18 yo is Buzz Lightyear crazy, so character greets and autographs. She doesn't know about the Buzz ride in the MK, so that will be a pleasant surprise.
Again we return to the room at 2:00 and guess what? The girls are worn out and decide to take a nap just their old dad. No cranky people allowed.
We return to MGM to watch Fantasmic. If you havn't seen this show, any description I make won't do it justice. I filmed this, but I would find myself watching the show and not paying any attention to the camcorder. Not to be missed!!!
The girls call my son and tell him what a good time they are having. My wife, being a good wife, wants to know if I checked the oil in the car. Of course, being a good husband, I hadn't but I don't tell her. Hey, it's the happiest place on earth!
Observations: Every CM we met was gracious and pleasant. The Disney magic was really working. Fast Pass really works.
Downers: EPCOT is too big to close so early. We will have to return to see it all.
