The Next EPCOT Country

I love the idea of all the countries mentioned, but I think my most favorite one is Australia.

How about adding, to the American pavilion, some attraction about American sports. They could have rotations, year-round, of various sports' stars giving talks and autographs--baseball, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, etc. in a sports setting like a mini football field with astroturf or a mini-baseball diamond, etc. Kids could try throwing, kicking, batting, serving, putting, etc.
That would distribute the crowds from TT and Soarin' once World Showcase opens. I know there is the Wide World of Sports, but, really, not many people go there, do they?

They used to have something somewhat similar to this idea in Wonders of Life when it first opened, called "Coach's Corner". You could try one of several different sports-golf swing, baseball bat swing, I don't remember the others. Then it would be replayed on video with a sports celebrity "evaluating" you. I don't know why they discontinued that particular attraction, but it was very popular. That would be cool to have something like that in the American Pavilllion.

We were at EPCOT a couple of years ago when they had additional countries represented under one roof...it was wonderful...Israel had a very nice exhibit and "ride" through the country...though with the "tensions" in the Middle East, I am assuming Disney will avaoid any country which may be construed as controversial...then again, these days, which country is not? Hopefully when I am taking my grandchildren (many years from now), we can walk through new countries exhibits and tell them that "way back when", these countries feuded...now they are all friends...well, it is a nice wish!

I would personally like to see either India or Egypt go in. In ancient times, they were both empires that had a great influence over what civilization is today.

I remember that too. It was called Millennium Villiage and had lots of unique and interesting stuff from lots of other countries.

my vote is for egypt-there are so many things they could do , .....the possibilities are endless.
even when i was a kid i wanted to visit there, maybe someday.......

Is there a country with a better name anywhere? Besides, it's sp small, Disney could relocate the whole thing!

Isn't India already pretty well represented by Anadapur in the Animal Kingdom? And aren't there rumors that there will be an Australia land added to the AK?

Before a new country is added, they should improve the America pavilion. There isn't even a TS restaurant. How lame is it that we send out the image that all we serve is CS fast food.

I found this on Wikipedia. Like other posters said, this says that there were plans for Russia, Spain, and Israel in the past, but these countries wouldn't fund the pavillion. Just scroll down in the article to "World Showcase".
