...Pop Century Legendary Years! According to a rumour, work is starting up there now and this is going to be the first DVC value resort.

Views?

OK, let me get this straight. We've got AKL for sale right now, BLT for sale, GCV for sale. SSR finally sold out. Hawaii was just announced. Now we're looking at POP? Is DVC getting too big? Biting off more then the market can handle?

I guess I don't understand that one, either. How has it become DVC? All that I saw on the rumor post is that they are supposedly completing LY, not that it is DVC.

I thought I read some place that IF they finished the pop legendary years, they were going to make them into family suites, similar to the ones at all-star music.

This has been a rumor for about two years. It is probably based on the fact that DVC is the only on-property resort development that has been taking place, so if LY was to actually be finished, it must be DVC.

I don't buy it though. And there has been no evidence that there has been any actual work over there recently, even though there has been lots of rumors of work there.

With the success of the family suites over at ASMu, the more likely rumor is for them to be completed as a standard CRO resort but with a large percentage of the rooms done as family suites. But even then its a rumor.

+1 :thumbsup2

Heh...I went back to the linked thread...the ONLY mention of it being DVC in that thread was a joke, by yours truly:

But a bus driver told me that it was going to be the first Value DVC resort! :)

I highly doubt it but if that is so, I wouldn't be staying there.

Ahhh, so the rumor for DVC was you!! :rotfl: :rotfl: BAAAADDDDD!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, yes, it was ME! And I was the bus driver!!! HA HA HA! :)

Just goes to show, once you post something, in jest or not, some people will believe it to be true :)

Next I'll be cited on Jim Hill or something...

Good one! You got me there. :rotfl:

Hey  - 4 pts/nt Fri/Sat? It might totally be worth it to save on those weekend points :rotfl:

I had seen this rumor on another site awhile back. That site was reporting that the Pop Century DVC would be a different level of DVC and that our points would either not be accepted there, or there would be a higher point requirement for us than the value DVC members, much like a trade into anyother Disney non-DVC resort.

At this point who knows what will happen, but I suspect that Doconeill is correct in that these will be family suites through CRO. As a side note, there are photos on YouTube (I think) that show the insides of those vacant buildings. They look as though they need to be torn down and started all over if they are going to be anything other than like the family suites at AS.
