Haiti is currently the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
It is rated 149 out of 183 countries in the Human Development Index.
Cite Soleil is the largest shanty town in the Northern Hemisphere.
Haiti located near the Enriquillo-Plantain Garden fault.
12th January 2010, 4:53pm EST.
Earthquake measured 7,0 moment magnitude scale.
Focus was 10km deep. Epicentre was under Carrefour.
Epicentre 15km South-West from Port-au-Prince.
Shaking lasted for more then a minute.
At least 10 aftershocks measured over 5.0.
Could top 100,000 deaths. Thousands are Homeless. 3 million people are affected.
Phone lines & masts came down, cutting communications
One hospital collapsed during the shaking.
Multiple landmarks in the country have been damaged to varying degrees.
Section of the Haiti national palace has collapsed.
The National Assembly building & the Port-au-Prince Cathedral were damaged.
A day after the quake, 61 firefighters from the UK have volunteered to help.
Oxfam has its emergency response team for Latin America based in Haiti
A public health, water and sanitation team from Oxfam is ready to respond.
Save the Children has given £50,000 for relief work in Haiti.
The European Commission has released 3 million Euros

Found out I only had a free trial -_- I would very much like to buy it though. You can set your own price for it, for some reason. They recommend $25 because they'll give you a pair of 3D glasses. I already have a pair though. Granted they came free to watch the Hannah Montana concert, but they still work!
