i need help. I have to write a sentece using the word 'tumult'.

What's it mean? Wait! I have a dictionary!

I still like subterfuge better, but I'b probably say something like
Professor Harold Hill's proclimation of trouble caused a tumult.
But we're doing the Music Man and that's the first thing that came to mind.
Please don't use it; that's just an example.
