Great news Ann, congratulations!

Happy birthday Madyson Jo!

Hi Cheerleaders

Oh yeah....happy-b-day SSB

Congrats Ann on grandbaby #2!!!!

Happy Birthday SSB!!! Hope your day was great.

Hi to everyone else - I am at work - been kinda quiet so far, hope it stays that way!! :)

MGM was not too packed Friday, my little brother went with me. he had never been to MGM before. We got there around 10:45 and left around 3:00. I was a bad girl, I parked at the Swan and we took the boat over to MGM. shhhh. ;) It was such a hot day though. I do not know how Teri made it last weekend. Luckily it rained around noon time so it cooled things off. We did the Muppet 3-D, The Great Movie Ride, The Backlot Tour, at lunch @ ABC Commissary, walked around the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and looked in a few shops. It was a short day but my brother was hot and we wanted to head home. Wanted to leave early enough so that we would miss rush hour Tampa traffic. We almost made it too - as soon as we hit Tampa it was very slow going.

Thanks Teri. How are you this lovely evening?

Where is everyone tonight? Well we know where Ann probably is - the hospital.

Sue - how was your weekend. Did the boys enjoy it?

Congrats again Ann on the new Grand Baby. :D

Yeah, my b-day was the 14th. ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

*hugs* Cheerleaders!!!

Buggin'

Ann, hope you're enjoying the new grandbaby

Christine, glad you enjoyed your day at MGM

Hi Teri...no ring yet?????

hello ejigs...hope all is well with you and your family

Oh-oh.

I'm beginning to suspect something about this thread.....that I'm the mouthy one.

We already knew I was the long-winded one, but, when I'm gone this thread seems awfully quiet. so, I must begin to suspect that I'm also the mouthiest cheerleader. And all this time, I thought it was Debbie

So, to catch up----

CONGRATS, GRANNIE ANNIE, on the new baby!! er,sorry--that should read Grammy Ann--just a little typo--so sorry, Ann.....

A Belated Happy Birthday to my Pal, SSB !!!! Whom, is seems, is still out celebrating

We had an un-eventful return from St Louis (i.e.--everything was OK at the house). Still no word from Amanda, altho people keep calling here to talk to her. When I tell them she's not here, it seems they've all talked to her/seen her/ took her somewhere/ etc, and tell me she told them she would be here. One person insists she is not using drugs--at least, not the 2 days she was with her, but, I imagine that may have just been those 2 days, because this woman would not let her into her house, if she suspected drug use.
So,who knows where she may be....

The boys are back in school today, Surprisingly, they were both excited to be going back (especially surprising for Shawn, who, usually, to put it mildly, does not care for school).

I have a cake and cookies in the oven, and am thinking about trying to re-start my scrapbook making, but, not sure where to start, it's been so long since I stopped.

Instead, I may just plop myself down on the couch (between loads of laundry I'm doing) and read this book a friend at work brought to me. It's called Sweet Potato Queens, and, she insists, she and I are true Sweet Potato Queens, and, to a degree, I guess we are. I can't afford to go to California and have my underwear handmade, though.

I read about 1/2 of it this week-end and it is funny.

Anyway, hi to all....Have a great day and I shall check back later..

Sorry--the full title of the book is

The Sweet Potato Queens' Book Of Love

and it is a riot.

So far, I highly recommend it.
It might be a little "R" rated in places, though, so consider yourself forewarned.

Wow--it's deja vu all over again, as I sit here talking to myself once again.
Where are all of you guys, today????

Congrats on that new grandbaby Ann!!!!

i've been "lurking" lately...haven't had much to say!! but i'm here now...counting down the days until the wedding and honeymoon...oh...i can't wait!!! i am so ready for a vacation!! and i am so very ready to marry this man!! :Pinkbounc lord knows we've waited long enough for this day to come!! pray that the next 3 weeks just fly by for us...

my mom was here over the weekend and made my wedding dress for me...it's really pretty! very plain, but pretty! and FH made our unity candle...and he's also making us bride and groom hats to wear while we're at WDW. he finished his over the weekend. it's so adorable!!! we went to david's bridal and bought the balck hat that says "groom" in white and then the white hat that says "bride" in gold. he put mickey ears on his hat!! he's going to attach white ears to mine along with a little veil on the back. he looks so adorable in his groom ears! and then we should be finishing up our shirts this weekend...then all's we'll have left to do is to work out the ceremony details with the chapel and pack our stuff!!

did i mention that i just can't wait? :Pinkbounc oh! we still have to get his wedding ring too...i keep forgetting that minor detail...

hope everyone has a good day!!! and thanks for asking about me Teri!

Um, Sue?? thanks for the congrats...I need a bigger monitor to read it though :p Glad everything was OK at home upon return under the circumstances! I need a good book...is that a novel or what? Who wrote it so I can find it?

Temps "cooled" off a bit today to the eighties and not as humid thank goodness! DD started soccer tryouts..totally out of shape and blames the hot/humid weather last week (not that she'd have been able to whip herself into shape in a week ANYWAY but do you know ANY teenagers who LISTEN to their parents ggggggggrrrrr) Now I have to listen to her complain about her shin splints, sore knee, new coach, pushy underclassmen, "I'm just going to quit" and so forth. One of the coaches told her today to have me buy her the custom made $300-400 orthotics (NOT covered by insurance) that the podiatrst mentioned over a year ago, that will help her over-pronating ankles which in turn will help the shins and knee alignment issues. She has the nerve to tell me this right after she says, "maybe I'll just quit"!?!?! I told DD last year there was no way I was investing in those orthotics unless she was going to seriously train and stay in shape, using the gym membership we have to work on leg muscle strengthening and toning all year long, and not go into tryouts gasping and panting and then having the over-use injuries to her lower extremities. grrrrrrrr Mehinks I need to have a cold beer and then go see the baby again. :)

cold beer sounds good Sue, get me one ;)
My boys have been having captains practices about 2 weeks now
Coach's practice starts Thursday...4 hours a day

I'm beginning to suspect something about this thread.....that I'm the mouthy one.

We already knew I was the long-winded one, but, when I'm gone this thread seems awfully quiet. so, I must begin to suspect that I'm also the mouthiest cheerleader. And all this time, I thought it was Debbie
It think it takes at least 2 mouthy people to make a mouthy thread!!
SO how the heck are you??? glad to hear you had a nice weekend ;)

Scarlett....I hope the time to your wedding passes quickly...you're making me anxious and I'm not even going :D

Oh and I'll have some of Sue's cookies to go with the beer Ann is getting me :D

I almost forgot....
So far, I highly recommend it.
It might be a little "R" rated in places, though
well then....I simply must read it ;)

Just stopping in to say hello...

I have been busy with.....

No ring sighting. ......:( :( :( :( :( :(
But The Chief of Cardiology said, "The important thing is that the marriage is intact" So I keep thinking the positive....

NOTE TO SELF: mail those pins....

Sometimes I am so scatterbrained..................

ok, good night everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Fellow Mouthy Cheerleader!

The Book----The Sweet Potato Queens' Book Of Love --
not a novel; rather a light, humorous, read. Slightly over 200 pages. Southern outrageousness at it's best.

BT would be a fabulous Sweet Potato Queen.

The author is Jill Conner Browne.

I have yet to visit the site (but soon will, I am sure), but, you can learn about the Sweet Potato Queens at

their web site

Yes, they are a real group of ladies, in Jackson, Mississippi. There is another book I want to read when I finish this one- (God Save The Sweet Potato Queens

Funny stuff

Hey Everyone - Happy Monday to you all :)

Sue - so glad your weekend with the boys was fun and that your return was uneventful. I wish you the best in continuing to manage your difficult situation with Amanda. Glad to hear the boys are off to a good start at school.

Scarlett - here's wishing you a quick three weeks until your exciting day! Your hats sound adorable and I am sure your WDW trip will be a wonderful honeymoon!

Happy Belated Birthday Amber - 22 - that is a great age - enjoy it!!

I need to read the Sweet Potato Queen books - those sound like fun. I love to read so I am always looking for good books to add to my list.

Went to Parent Orientation for dd's preschool tonight. She will be going on Wednesdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. I may have to go pick her up early most days though as she generally takes her nap from noon - 3:00pm. I think she will enjoy the kids, crafts, etc. and I am sure it will be good for me to have the free time. Once again, it will probably be a harder emotional adjustment for me than her :)

Time for bed - see you all tomorrow. Sweet dreams for you all :)
