The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Good morning ladies. Hope everyone had a good night last night. Natalie had one of her best nights last night. She went almost 5 hours between feedings.:woohoo: She had her first bottle at 10 and I put her down at 10:40 and then she had her next bottle at 3 and was down at 3:25 and then up at 7:00. Not bad at all. I actually feel rested. Of course this means tonight will be BAD.:scared1:

Ok new moms, is it just me or are you flying through diapers and formula too???? I do not remember going through so many with DS. DD is often filling another diaper as soon as the dirty one comes off. Dr. says it is normal for some babies to go so often.

My other complaint of the day is with insurance companies!!! Why is nothing ever easy, getting DD added was like pulling teeth. This one woman just could not grasp the concept that I do not have a birth certificate or social yet. Finally today I get the issue resolved and DD has been added. Now I just have to work on getting claims reprocessed that rejected in error. As a new Mom do they really think I want to deal with this crap?!

Hope all the new babes are great !!!! Even through I came on and complained, I have never been happier and feel truly blessed.

I need to find more time, I have not been on much since Emma coming along.

Okay.. as soon as I went to bed, my kids all started waking up at different times. :sad2: I think I got maybe an hours sleep. Anyways.. I went to walmart for some diapers and baby food. I bought almost 30 jars of food, and I know that will last maybe a week or two. Its times like this that I realize how more expensive two babies are then one. For some reason the diaper thing doesnt bother me.. But buying that much baby food, and knowing it wouldnt last very long really hurt!:lmao: I HAVE to start making my own.

I go through SOOOO MUCH. I have half a giant case of size threes.. a smaller case and 3 jumbo packs of diapers. I figure that should last... 3 MAYBE four weeks. MAYBE. I have a bunch more coupons, but I am wondering if I should get size threes, of fours. What the heck size do threes go to anyways?? I dont know.. And formula?? CRAP. I go through a can in a day and a half.

I'm really grateful that I bought all the diapers that I did... we're still well stocked. Overstocked on certain sizes, he'll outgrow size 1 before we run out. :rolleyes1

Formula we're stocked up on, too. I truly have a problem. :headache:

Staley, I think most stores will swap them out if they outgrow them.. as long as they're not open. I'm relying on that.

ShootingStarMom, sorry to hear about GG. I'm sure you're glad you got to say goodbye.
Enjoy your DH's vacation!!

I know Walmart does, and Im sure that Target does.. I dont know why I am so obsessive about this. I HAVE to have the right sizes!!:lmao:

Patsy, with most insurance co's...they get one fee for the entire 9 months. So if the do a V delivery, they get one if they do section get another. All routine checks are included in that rate. Testing is billed out and for me, when I saw OB in L&D was billed as it wasn't my normal check, it was a hello..let's stop this labor check (at least he go an extra week in there) :goodvibes

Each of the boys I've had different insurance and it's been the same w/all 3. Of course w/us and the csections we'll be getting billed for all the other people too..asst surgeon, anesthia etc etc etc.

If thats true, she is only getting paid $1850. Does that seem right?? For a c-section and all of my care?? :confused3
The EOB was simply for "Surgery"... That doesn't seem like enough to me. :confused3
That is less than the anesthesiologist bill!

Staley, I think 3's go to 22lbs? I was thinking they didn't go as far as size 2's for some reason.

My retarded primary insurance denied the pre-certification for my gallbladder surgery and said it was pre-existing (it's not, I was diagnosed while their policy was in effect!). So I have mess upon mess to clean up with my insurance now... :sad2:

WHAT????? We do!! OMG. GET THE CAR SEATS!! We are going to Big Lots!!:lmao::lmao: Thank you so much!!:worship::worship:

Oh good! Try the food aisles sometimes they are totally hidden with regular food. Our is by the tuna and crackers or the other store has them in the the cookies and cake mixes. I just checked my pantry and the last time I bought was before DS was born. 36 jars of sweet potato casserole, pears & bananas, carrots, and mixed fruit dessert. $9! I've got 100 jars upstairs that were all 60% off that I got when I was pretty early in pregnancy. Those are Gerber, BN, and NG too. Do you save your Beechnut labels (if you use that brand)? They will also have the Gerber graduate meals and sometimes Seasame Street Organic crackers and food items.

ETA: thanks Patsy for the note about GG. PS - didn't know you were obsessed about formula too!

Rite Aid had the bigger tubs on sale for $19.99 a few weeks back.
I bought 15 tubs... :rotfl:
He can't do generic, we tried. So when I saw it on sale I bought a ton. We go through it like crazy. I'm already down to 10 tubs.

I got an email that Huggies will have coupons in the paper this weekend. So i'll be taking advantage of the Huggies/Rite Aid deal next week. I need to decide which sizes to buy.

Between school, selling our house and my 3 boys, I haven't had time to keep up with the deals. What's the Huggies deal next week? You can post anytime you see good deals on anything! I won't mind!;):goodvibes

It goes for purchases through July 25th.
I'm hoping that Huggies go on sale next week at Rite Aid but I'll price it out as though they're full price.

It's all through Rite Aid's single check rebate program. Easy, easy, easy to use-- you just go online and enter the numbers off the receipt, they pull it up in their system, see that it was "qualified" and you request the rebate be mailed out.

The first rebate is rebate #800:
Buy 5 packages of Huggies get a voucher for the 6th free.
(Must buy: • Huggies Supreme, 22-46 ct.
• Huggies Snug & Dry, 26-60 ct.)
Regular price they're 11.49/package... so 57.45 for 6 packages of diapers.

Rebate #61
Spend $50 on Kimberly-Clark/Bayer/Schick/Unilever products get a $25 Rite Aid gift card.
(Must buy specific product: • HUGGIES SUPREME® or HUGGIES® Snug & Dry Diapers, 34-60 ct. )
So... $57.45 before tax for 6 packs + a $25 gift card coming back.

You can also print the $5 off of $25 coupon and use it. I plan to buy 3 packages of diapers, use the $5 off $25 and then buy 2 packages and something small (toothpaste maybe??) and use another.

Since Huggies e-mailed me and told me that there will be coupons in Sundays paper, I'm holding out to use those too. :thumbsup2

Ahhh..... Somebody pinch me, but I am actually rested:scared1: My husband took the baby out to his parents this morning so I got back into bed from 9 to 12. That was wonderful!!!! Next I am going to take a long hot shower and deep condition my hair.:woohoo: Also last night his mom came over to watch Natalie while we went to see Harry Potter. What a wonderful weekend I am having. Hope everyone else is having a great one too!

I posted this on the other thread but:

Okay, it's official. I'm going to be induced on Wednesday!! I'm totally freaked out, because I really thought there was no way I would progress enough in 5 days. I'm 2 cm and 80% effaced and Lily is "very low." It was funny, because my dr was so excited that I progressed. She barely even examined me compaired to last week's grope fest. I guess all the pineapple really helped!! I also walked a little yesterday--though anything I'm on my feet for more than 30 minutes I started getting cramps on my side...it's weird. But I think it was mainly the pineapple...and that other #1 thing they tell you to try. ;) Today is my last day at work and I'm wrapping everything up.

We're going to see if we can bring our laptop, especially if the hospital has wifi, so hopefully I can post more.

Oh and my Dr and I had a very long discussion about the risks of a c-section. She told me that there was no way that she would induce me if I wasn't ready and that she considers my condition to be HIGHLY favorable. I plan to eat more pineapple and do some more walking and stuff. ;)

Congrats! I'm glad you posted here. I unsubscribed from the other thread so I would stop posting there!

I had a good cry today. I am making myself give Katie one bottle a day this week. She starts daycare 2 wks from today, and I'm already dreading it. I pumped this morning, then took her paperwork to the daycare (I did all of this in May, went by last week to verify her spot, and they had lost everything! They do have a record of me paying the $40 registration fee thank goodness, and told me that I have a spot). Anyway, I decided to have dd9 give her the bottle every day around noon. She woke up from her nap around then, and was in such a good mood. She was smiling and cooing at me like always, and then started rooting. I started crying (for no good reason) and called dd9 in to give her the bottle. She took it, no problems, but I cried the whole time. Just the thought of her waking up at daycare without me there is killing me. I know the women in the baby room are wonderful, and she will be fine. And I've done this twice before. I guess since she is the baby, and I've had so much time with her (she is 9 1/2 wks old), I'm having a harder time thinking about leaving her. :guilty:
