Just to reinforce what WebmasterPenny said, having lots of images and scrolling and colors on a page will eat a lot of server resources, and consequently slow things down.

Every html tag, every image, every scrolling marquee must be interpreted by the web server, and that takes time. On the thread you seem to be asking about, there's an overabundance of all these server-intensive elements.

Simplifying the colors, fonts, and graphics will be the quickest way to see a faster loading time on these posts.

Howdy everybody! Just back from DS-Josh's swimming class (he has been moved up another level!! He was a Ray, now he is a Starfish!!), grocery store & drive-thru at McDonald's for Lilo & Stitch happy meals for the kids.

Cheeringmom, glad you stopped in, you have been missed! I don't think you answered the last question which was "how tall are u?"

I was reading through the posts since yesterday & I think TiggersPal was tagged!!! So, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Well, I am heading over to MGM to hunt you guys down. I think I'll look at Tower of Terror first, as I really want to ride it. Then, I'll look over at the Great Movie Ride. See you in a few....

Whoops! I forgot to answer Bichon Barb's question. Hair: brown Eyes: greenish, blueish, hazelish, depends what I am wearing.

Congratulations on receiving a shiny new tag TiggersPal. Must be a belated birthday present from the TAG FAIRY. How special is that!!!

Eye Color: brown
Hair Color: brown, especially right after I get it colored.

I am with Bichon Barb and RRBB, the Rockin Roller Coaster WITH a cold Becks in hand would be an adventure. The first loop may be a test of whether any of us had a drinking problem---spilling the drink. We may also need a dentist after the ride.

ohanafamily it seems that they are telling you gently to tell everyone to drop all their colorful and vivid stylish posts. They were quick to give the answer of how many posts is too many for a thread and seemed to have shifted at length to slowing down the size of things around here. I guess I am already in compliance by virtue of having few computer tech skills. Being in the dark has some benefit.

HAHAHA I screwed up again!! That "valentine" was supposed to be just a blushing smilie. But Deadheadbelle
you can still be my valentine-if you bring the strawberry margaritas!!! :)

Hey everyone! Just got off the phone with Deadheadbelle, she's going to take a nap! Well, she was but now her DH is home with a sick belly.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_2_5.gif' border=0></a>

Ohanafamily I think the answers you got are particularly funny because when I took their survey a few days ago and they asked what would improve the DIS for me I told them to allow MORE smilies in posts.:teeth:

Quick answer to the question of the day - dark brown hair, DARK brown eyes. I will NOT be participating in any weight questions, forget it!

Gotta go pick up Holly!:wave2:

Thanks everyone for the support during my nervous breakdown! :earseek:

llebrekniT, I'm not exactly sure what Disney's turnaround time is for professional positions but I've read that for hourly positions 24-36 hours is their goal. Pretty amazing for a company that size. I have read that it's difficult to break in, and I'm prepared for that, but at this point I'd settle for getting some calls from some of the many non-Disney companies I've applied to.

I would definitely take a temp job if I had to (already registered with OfficeTeam) but there is a minimum amount of money I have to make since my partner will most likely not be working while he's in school. So, I couldn't do it for too long.

Oh, and about where to live. We came across an apartment that we fell in love with not even realizing where it was actually located. When we were leaving and asked how to get back to the Disney area the lady said: "Oh, you just take a right at the traffic light and you'll be right there." After we picked our jaws up off the floor, we got in the car, did what she said and wound up in Downtown Disney after about two minutes. :hyper: We think we can alleviate the frequent visitors by only getting a 1-bedroom apartment. ;) The only problem is that it's not exactly close to the school my partner's going to. So, we're looking at some others as well.

Barb, you're right, I am looking for HR jobs. I really appreciate your offer but I wouldn't want to put you on the spot. One thing that's bothering me is that if I do end up in a non-Disney job at the time we move, I don't know how long I'd be there. Like I said, I am determined to get a job with ::MickeyMo so I plan to take that opportunity if I have it, whether I've been at the other company for 2 years or 2 months. And, believe me, that is totally not my personality. I am usually loyal to a fault, which is why I've ended up in some really bad situations work-wise. So, I wouldn't want someone to recommend me to someone else because I'd feel really bad if I ended up leaving after a short time. I wouldn't want that to reflect on the person who recommended me. Good grief...did I make any sense at all? So, I really appreciate your offer but I'm not sure you'd still want to do that.

Sorry for yet another long, rambling post...

Deadheadbelle, mine are like that too! I've also been told by a certain someone that they change according to my mood...you know, like the Hulk!! (Wishing I had a Hulk smiley...I'm sure llebrekniT or RRBB will come to my rescue! ;) ).

Oh, and about the hair. See, thanks to my father I have this receding hairline thing going on (started in high school!), not to mention that my mop is continually losing its strings. So, I keep it very, very short. I've found it's the best style for what I've got (or, rather, don't got :teeth: ).

What's there is light brown and, unfortunately, it grows really fast, which is not good.

Hi all, Brown Eyes, Dark Brown Hair...

Oh, and I think the mods were just trying to be helpful, they are upgrading the systems to speed things up, so these problems are on there minds...I will have some further discussions with them about the better ways to do things...More Later...

HuggaBaloo, I would take her offer for help and be straight with them up front. Most of the Opening Disney jobs are Part time, etc, so it may take a while. If you are up front with the company, they know what to expect.....

Back to PMing the mods...

:bounce:

OMG , we're on page 2 again. Here's a little
