The Dolphin has rooms for $99 a night on my dates. It also happens to be my birthday that week, would I also one night free?

Is $99 a night a great rate for the Dolphin?

My family of five is going to Olrando in September and I can't decide where to stay...I was either going to stay at Port Orleans free dining or Portofino Universal(family has never been to Universal). Now with $99 a night at the Dolphin, I'm thinking of it as an option.

I have not seen the 99 dollar rate for years. It's a great rate. Even though Port Orleans is also nice place to stay. The Dolphin is about location...location...location!

Thanks for the info! I'm going to try and call them back and have them tell me the break down of the rate....it's hard to believe that one free night plus two nights at whatever other rate they give you is not cheaper than 3 nights even at a discounted rate (not to mention the free b-day dinner!). Although I guess it could be if they charge you a very high rack rate for the other nights? When I do a search on reservations and don't put in any kind of code, I still come up with some rooms as low as $149/night.

I made my decision! I booked the Dolphin.

I just called and they were able to apply the free birthday code to the $99 a night rate.

My dates are Sept 1-8 (7 nights). I am paying $99 a night plus free birthday night. Total is 742.86 including taxes and resort fee. I think that's awesome!!!

I love free dining, but I think this is a much better deal for my family of 5.

Thanks, guys!!!!! You are AWESOME!!! The third time was the charm...I called and asked about the b-day special and she put me on hold and came back and said YES, I *CAN* get it with the discounted government rate!!!!!

WOW $99 a night? Unreal! A group of DIS ladies & I are just about to book a Treehouse Villa for our November trip - I think I need to look into these $99 rates - and it's the birthday of one of the ladies during the trip too...this could be fabulous!!!

Nothing, actually. When I plugged in my dates (Sept 5-9), that was the lowest rate that came up. It's one of those pre-paid deals.

I thought the AARP rate of $129 was great, but this just blows me away. I'm beyond excited!

No special code, the rate just came up for the dates.

Online it's a pre-paid deal, however, if you call in you only have to pay the first nights accomodations and the rest at check-in. You have up to 5 days before check-in to cancel or change your reservation.

If you are using the BDAY code, you have to call in, can't do it online.

Congrats on getting the $99 rate. They had a similar deal that ended Monday but now they have another one. I wish they extended the dates a little so my cousin could get the same rate for her trip at the end of October. I'm looking all around for a great deal for her. After hearing us talk so much about the Swan she wants to stay there, but they are on a tight budget. I'm crossing my fingers that they release another deal next week with dates that go through October.

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive your confirmation email? I booked earlier tonight and haven't received it yet. I thought it would only take a few minutes.

I recently received my "Welcome Back" email (we check in this Wednesday). They send this out a week before your arrival. Such a nice touch.

Minniemom- I did receive my confirmation email within a few minutes of booking the rooms. Sometimes when there is a complex reservation (points, codes, etc.), it may take a little more time.

Have you joined spg? If so, you can see your reservation online at spg.com.

hmm...I too did not receive a confirmation email last nite even though she said I would get one to show the change to the BDAY rate. I think I will call them back....

Not only is the $99 deal not available for my November dates, both Swan & Dolphin are showing not available, booked solid. Oh well, I was excited there for a moment! I'm loyal to S/D but am excited to be trying a Treehouse Villa with friends. Next time I'll be back to S/D...

Good luck to everyone who gets the $99 rate.. I just had to play around on the spg website with dates to see it come up for some in September. I couldn't find anything beyond that, but keep checking, we all know these things (rates & availability) change daily!

I still haven't received the email as of this morning and I don't see my reservation on spg.com.

I just called and it's in their system, they are going to send another confirmation out. Hopefully, I will receive it soon.

Got the confirmation. Thanks for everyone's help! I'm so excited! I've never stayed at the Dolphin or Swan before. I look forward to staying so close to Epocot, my favorite park.
