I forget but they have rates on the S&D website and you can book all transportation through the website.

That is SO GOOD to know! Thanks a million!

OK, I found the transportation link, here it is:

http://www.swandolphin.com/feedback/transportation.html

So for my family of 5, Mears shuttle would cost $154, an SUV or van would cost $163-- and make no other stops, and not wait for any other passengers.

If we do book the Dolphin, we'll go the SUV/van route.

Thanks once again for the info!!

ETA: WAIT-- I found a better price:

Wow, is that one way? Your almost better off renting a minivan if it is.

Here at the Swan now. Getting excited for our first MNSSHP tonight. Rain is supposed to clear by the evening. We have done MK, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon, and AK. We are in a 2 br grand suite with a view of the Dolphin. I will be online for awhile so everyone else can sleep late. Any questions?:thumbsup2

Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations go up at the Swan and Dolphin?

I'm getting married at the Swan on 12.22.12 and will be at WDW this November (11-13th) and thought I'd stop by to see how it looks if they'll be up.

Thanks!

The Dolphin's tree has usually been up by Thanksgiving weekend when I've been there right after the holiday. I highly doubt their decorations will be up by Nov. 13.

Yep ... probably will start going up the Monday before Thanksgiving.

Thanks!! I could've sworn I saw a recent picture of the Swan fountain with wreaths around their necks.. maybe it was from a couple of years ago!

Thanks again!

Ok- we are home:mad:
We stayed at the Swan from 10/28-11/2. Here's a brief review.
We had a 2 br grand suite on the 7th floor of the East wing. Our view was of the Dolphin resort. It was basically a king room and a 2 queen room with a big parlor in between. The parlor was the size of 2 guest rooms put together. There was a sitting area, a dining area and a large wet bar. The whole suite had 3 full baths and 4 small balconies. Rooms were clean with no musty smells. 3 average sized closets.
Housekeeping was great except for 10/31 when they did not come at all. We were out until 3 pm and when we returned to the room for a nap, they had not yet arrived. Maybe they came later and didn't disturb us. I did call the next morning for an early housekeeping which worked out well. We loved having all of the extra space.
We used Camp Dolphin on 2 nights and the kids loved it. We dropped them off while the adults went out to eat.
The resort had great Halloween activities at the pool over the weekend and the kids had a blast.

We ate at the resort at :
Shula's (very nice)
Kimono's (good sushi)
Blu Zoo (good)
Garden Grove (just ok breakfast buffet)

Buses seemed ok from Resort. We usually used a taxi. Very easy to get a taxi t/from the Swan. Boats were VERY slow, but it was better than walking after a long day at Epcot. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a boat. I have NO idea who said it was a 10 min walk to Epcot---but I walked fast to get to our room for a change of clothes for our daughter and it took me 30 minutes from International Gateway to Swan!! I did that once and that was enough!
We spent our days at MK, AK, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon and MNSSHP.
Our kids loved the grotto pool and we would definitely stay here again.
I will post the rest of my dining reviews on the Disney restaurant page. Feel free to send any questions:thumbsup2

Sounds like you a had a great stay! I'll check out your dining reviews. I'm not sure why it took 30 minutes from the IG to the Swan . . . it's only like a 1/2 mile. :confused3

It takes me about 10 minutes from the Swan to the International Gateway, but I walk at a pretty good clip. I go by way of the Boardwalk rather than via the Beach Club and Yacht Club.

This afternoon I was just informed at Picabu that the refillable mugs with all of the resort restaurant logos on them are now for COLD beverages ONLY. If you want refillable coffee or tea, you must buy the new silver-toned hot mug with the javabar logo on them. Has anyone else heard this? I was charged $3.00 for my tea.

Hi! Staying at the Swan 11/18 for 5 nights and am wondering if they have a laundry room??:confused3 I don't want to have to pack tons! We also leave for the beach for 4 nights after our Swan stay and would like to leave with clean clothes!:rotfl:

There are no laundry facilities at The Swan, they are over at The Dolphin. It's on the same floor as Picabu - in the hallway where the arcade & gym are, on the way out to the pool. It's a very large laundry room, I use it every trip. It's never full (I'm usually there alone) and always clean.

Speaking of laundry, we just got our power back after being off for 6 days. I'm on my 7th load of wash & have at least 3 more to go!

Ditto and we don't push it--just walk at our normal pace. A half an hour to get back seems a bit overstated. We walked back in a torrential downpour in October, took a tour through BC to get out of the weather, and it still only took 20 minutes. :confused3
