Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

I do have a question of all you veteran Starpoint users: I am at gold level, can I still ask for a room upgrade even though I'm staying on points?

Absolutely ask...all they can say is no. However, I have never been refused some type of an upgrade when I politely ask at check-in. You are Gold level - :thumbsup2that's really good.

Just recently, DH and I stayed at the Sheraton in Boston. We booked a standard room. Upon check in I asked if we could have a complimentary upgrade. The CM said of course with no hesitation - placed us in a corner room / high floor with a beautiful view of the Charles River, the ocean and Fenway Park.

Gotta love spg!

Thank you all who answered my questions.
Just one last ones (ha ha, I'm sure I'll have lots more before our stay in October), can I bring and use innertubes from home or are only rental tubes allowed?

 I am so excited!!! I just rebooked out trip in September 23-30th at the Swan for $129 a night!!!!!!

:dance3::dance3:

I could not be happier!

I love the Swan! Our last trip we stayed at the Yacht Club (only because we were ableto get the buy 4/3 free deal) and DH was not happy at all with it. He prefers the Swan! It has been 4 years since we stayed there so I am excited!!!

The 4/3 deal was kinda' sweet, but I agree with your husband!

I am SO EXCITED to be trying the Dolphin at the end of April! We will be there 4/24-4/29!! I am using SPG points and tried to call yesterday to upgrade to a room w/a king bed + pull out sofa, but the person helping me on the phone said that you can only request these rooms as an upgrade when I get to the hotel...that seemed odd to me! I thought I had seen on this thread that a few people had booked this type of room with SPG points?!? Maybe it's called an Alcove Room? Does anyone know? I would LOVE to have this booked upfront instead of just hoping for it and I am willing to pay more points for it...
Thanks for the help! :goodvibes

Depending on availabilty they might just give it to you upon check in

I returned home from 6 nights at the Swan a week ago today  - and it went by way too quickly!

Go back in May. :woohoo:

I'm actually going back on Easter! I originally booked 8 nights to get every last day out of my annual pass. Then I booked a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale that departs midway through my WDW trip, so now I'll be at the Swan only 3 nights. I don't plan on returning again until December, but you never know. :)

Will you be there in May, Dan?

I'm baaacccckkkkkk!

I haven't even uploaded pics, will try to get to that later. Another wonderful stay at S/D. Parks were PACKED. I mean PACKED. We did rope drop & evening EMH and even that didn't help. We did the KTTK Tour which was great & thankfully that got us front-of-the-line access to 2 attractions. When we left MK at 1am last night it was still a 45 min. wait for Space Mountain and 25 min. for Haunted Mansion. There was a queue line for TTA. Yes, TTA. The line for the 10pm Fantasmic show was out to the main street of DHS - by 8:15pm. The 8pm show was full to capacity. Weather was perfect - highs of 80 and lows of 55, and no humidity. Today was going up to 85 & there was some humidity in the air as we were leaving.

Off to unpack so I can re-pack for our Dolphin trip in 6 days! Hopefully the crowds will thin out but that's doubtful considering it's Spring Break time. At least I know what to expect!

We had the 2 BR executive suite & it was really nice. There were 5 adults sharing it & it worked out perfectly. Yes Mike I have lots of pics I will post hopefully later tonight or tomorrow!

I can't wait to see pictures and read your trip report. Thanks for sharing. I hope the crowds won't be bad in 3 weeks. Maybe we will be between the college and the younger kids' spring breaks?! I hope!

Ok here are the 2BR Executive Suite pics...

The main room with double sofa bed & queen murphy bed (might have been a king) - we were told originally this room would only have the sofa bed & not murphy bed, so it was a surprise to see it made up when we walked in. This room had a balcony:

This is the attached 2-bed room for the Executive Suite - the entrance to this room was just inside the main room, to the right. This room did not have a balcony:

This is the attached king room for the Executive Suite - the entrance to this room was over near the murphy bed, by the sink area. This room did have a balcony:

The outside sink area in this room was smaller than the outside sink area in the other 2 rooms. I slept on the double sofa bed in here, and it was actually very comfortable. Or maybe the Heavenly pillows just made it seem that way. Or maybe after 16 hours in the parks each day I really didn't care where I was sleeping!

Hey, welcome back, Tara!

Great pictures of the suite...looks like you had plenty of room to spread out. I think that's the first time I've seen a photo of one of the rooms with a Murphy bed. Did your fellow traveler say how it was to sleep on one?

Sorry it was so crowded. For some reason, I didn't associate the middle of March with Spring break, I guess because Easter is so late this year. At least you had nice weather. <<<*silver lining!*

What was the view like from the suite?
