The **New** Swan and Dolphin Resort thread ~ September 2010 ~ Please read post #1

I tried the "trick or treat" promotion a little bit ago. I was skeptical, because we're using Starwood points and cash, and only staying for 3 nights, Fri., Nov. 5- Sun., Nov. 7.

We won a resort view upgrade! The value is $25/per night, so it's a $75 value. Yay!

I'm sad!:sad2: Somehow I missed the part of the Trick-or-Treat promotion that the offer was only good for reservations until December. I guess I need to do a better job of reading comprehension!:rolleyes1

The good news is this was the second time I have called the hotel and been TOTALLY impressed with the agent I spoke with. Today I was told to make sure I keep my eyes open for future discounts that would be applicable to my stay. Oh, and I went ahead and upgraded my reservation to guaranteed resort view with a patio/balcony.:cool1: I'm STILL saving almost $700 over the Boardwalk!

For those of you who haven't called yet, I called the hotel directly, and I was on hold for less than 5 minutes.

Maybe it's better to call the other number and just deal with staying on hold longer . . . ???

Week before Easter. I should have called earlier. Seems like they are enforcing the expiration date now

I was thinking the same thing . . . that the powers-that-be caught onto to the fact that post 12/10 travel dates we're getting in on this.

I still haven't had a chance to call -- I've been too busy to stay on-hold that long (if it's a long hold) -- I will try soon, though! Also, if it doesn't work, I'm not too worried -- I'm sure there will be some kind of special/discount before my dates in June.

I called an tried to apply it for my April reservation and he said he could not do it as it expired at the end of the year.....

I would suggest trying again...maybe it depends on whoever answers the phone? I got my email confirmation, and indeed it is there for my dates

When are you guys going? I'm going the week after Easter.

Hi summersalt! We'll be there April 22-29, 2011...sounds like the same time as you :goodvibes Try the trick or treat...I don't know if they put a kibash on the 2011 guests, but it's worth a try! I wasn't expecting anything, but was pleasantly surprised! :thumbsup2

I also received my confirmation email for the upgrade. We are going May 2011.

I'm really enjoying seeing all the Trick-or-Treating going on here today!!! Sadly I don't have a ressie, so I can't go Trick-or-Treating!

Just got back from AKL Kidani & I did feel a twinge of "homesickness" LOL when we went to BC for dinner at Cape May & I was right there by The Dolphin. I LOVED Kidani (we had a 1BR villa) - loved the theming, the very spacious rooms & the quietness - but in spring it's back to The Dolphin for me!

When riding EE - when you're going up the big hill - look off to your left - this is what you see:

Resort View upgrade! Yay! Thanks guys....I didn't know "trick or treat" could be applied to an existing ressie and I wouldn't have known if not for the DISers :thumbsup2

The agent did verify my dates to see if I was in the time frame.

I have a reservation for a king "resort view" (not Epcot view) room with a patio/balcony. Would the rooms with resort views be in the wings when you're looking at a map of the resort?

I am curious about the resort view too. Since this is our first Dolphin stay, I am not sure what resort view really means. Also, what is the lowest floor that you can stay on? I have to add a low floor request to my res. I love to stay as high as possible but DH likes to stay low.

This happened to me as well for our Feb reservation. But I am glad to hear so many people were able to get in on this deal. Hopefully they will do another promotion like this again soon

Snap! I was too busy with Halloween to check the s/d thread. I might could have gotten a treat. But I'm a day late. Maybe Karma will bring me a discount.

"Officially" it was just to apply to new reservations but due to the way the press release was written I decided to change it to include existing for goodwill purposes. Glad to see so many DIS'ers took advantage of it!

:cool1: Now that was nice, Mr SwanDolphin. :woohoo:

Yay!! My dates are Apr 23 - 30th. We'll be there the same time. This will be my first visit to the Dolphin. I'm sooooo excited! I'm hoping for another chance at a discount since I missed the trick or treat one.

What type of ID do they want for the teachers' rate? My friend ( a teacher ) is very interested in the Swan/Dolphin....

I made 2 new reservations with the code! :yay: As I posted yesterday, I got the 10% off with the reservation I made at 7:00am! By the time I decided to make a Dolphin reservation for December, it was around 6pm and the CM said "all I have left is the upgrade to Resort view". I think y'all were very busy yesterday!! ;) I hope the promotion was a huge success (seems to be!) and that we will see more of these in the future! :worship:

I believe she would need an official Employee ID from the school/college or a current paystub.

We've requested ground floor. The reservations agent told me there are ground floor rooms at the Dolphin but not the Swan.

I was told either of those things would serve as proof for the teacher rate.
