Our stay at the Dolphin is now less than 5 weeks away!

Has anyone ever used the VIP Concierge Services (at the www.swananddolphin.com website) to request a room upgrade? Was it successful?
We're a little over 6 weeks away...so excited!!

I used the standard S/D email address...info@swandolphin.com...to make requests for my past two trips. Both times the S/D were gracious enough to upgrade us...first to an Epcot Fireworks View room with balcony (Dolphin) and last year to a Deluxe Alcove room with balcony (Swan).

I'm hoping for a three-peat this year for our anniversary, but will be happy with whatever room we are assigned to.

Awww...we were just teasing. I didn't realize that you could connect to a new thread from an older, closed one. Always learning something new around the DIS! :teacher:

You found us! Sorry - but it looked to me like you were happy about a 90% off deal at Restaurant.com that was for last year.

I just used it last week and they replied to me within an hour! Our trip is not for another 10 weeks so was surprised they got back to me so fast.

Quick question: I made our reservations at the Swan back on 2/3 of this year. We will be checking in a week from Saturday (9/17). I tried to check on our reservation online a few times over the last couple of nights using the confirmation number I got in Feb., and it doesn't show up online (it did a couple of weeks ago - I know, I'm paranoid). I called, and the woman at the desk said our reservation was there. Should I be worried? I don't get why it showed up online before but doesn't now...

Were you logged in on the SPG/Westin site at the time? When I log in, it automatically pulls up my existing reservation.
 
Yes, I was logged in. It usually pulls up for me too - that's why I was confused!
Hmmm...that's strange. Do you have the confirmation email? I know that would make me feel a little more secure, having something in writing, so to speak.
 
The 3 restaurants that do the 2-hour comp are Shula's, Blue Zoo and Il Mulino! :thumbsup2

There was no charge for the kids' meal at Picabu. :goodvibes (they will give you the information as to approx what time they will take the kids to Picabu and what time they will return to Camp Dolphin.)

On our recent trip we did the Camp Dolphin package at Il Mulino and Bluezoo. We were able to easily dine in the 2 hours provided. Even while taking our time and enjoying dessert. One time we even went to The Fountain for ice cream after dinner. The kids eat at Picabu at 7pm, so they need to be dropped off about 6:50. They will need all your info (cell #s, restaurant, allergies etc.), so that takes about 10 minutes to get together. I'm not sure they start the clock while you're filling out the forms, I think it starts when you leave. Anyway, on the second dinner date Camp Dolphin still had all the kids info on file, so all we had to do was sign them back in. Very easy process. I'd also like to perhaps clarify the deal a little more. For each entree you purchase you will get 2 free hours of Camp Dolphin. So if you have one kid, and you order two entrees, you can leave that one kid there for 4 hours. My wife and I had our two sons and a niece with us. So we each picked an entree and then picked one to share (instead of an appetizer). In turn we got 6 hours free. Which meant 2 hours for each kid. We did tip the caregivers very well, because the kids didn't want to leave and begged to return. So they must treat them special. I do know that they also take the kids to The Fountain for ice cream after the dinner at Picabu. It's a really great deal. And we did use the Restaurant.com $25 coupon. We got it with a pin code that made it only cost $2 to purchase, further adding to the super deal. Good Luck, and Enjoy.
 
On our last day in Disney, we are hoping to have a resort day. Our plane doesn't leave until 7 (so we'll probably leave for airport at 4). Will it be a problem for us to hang out by the pool for a good part of the day? We might only do it until lunch time, but we may in the afternoon as well. We are only staying for a long weekend, so we will only have carry on baggage and a car to store it in after check out. No flames, please. It's just a question. :thumbsup2

Hi neighbor. Sure, you can use all the resort facilities up to and including your day of departure. Enjoy.
 
Has anyone recently sent their 3yo to Camp Dolphin? I see on the CD site it says 4-12, but disney.com and other sites say 3-12. I also found references to other's taking their 3yo's to the camp, so I'm wondering if either this is a recent change, or if 3yo's are officially accepted?

Responding to my own post. I heard back from the Camp, and it's ages 4-12.

Thank you for your interest in Camp Dolphin at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Unfortunately, we are only licensed and insured to take children who have previously celebrated their fourth birthday. I do apologize about the confusion with the different websites, we are currently working with Disney to correct the minimum age on their website.

What kind of reservation is it? Did you call and make the reservation? Is it a special room like AP or an executive suite? The reason why I am asking is because in the past if we made ressies like the ones I mentioned, I can't pull them up online. If you called and they say its there I would not worry (It's when they can't find you go into panic mode!!!)
