Online is always the best place for star woods members to get the best deals. Login and see what's available. I'm platinum and they give the same deals to my dh who is gold and the discounts are way better than the other deals ive found. If you areuncomfortable with online, call spg direct, they should be able to assist you in the same way.

I love the s/d.

I haven't ever stayed at the dolphin, but I love the swan. I checked online and the discount I could get isn't that great-- 269/night. I am going to call as well and see if there is something that might be available that I am missing. I am hoping so at least- or that some of these other discounts will carry over into next year.

Hello from the 7th floor of the Dolphin! Weather was very rainy this morning, but stopped 3 or 4 hours ago. Not a pretty weather day, by any means, but it's a great day to be at the parks! ;)

The hotel is full - there's a convention here till Wednesday. They're tied up in meetings all day, but the lobby is hopping around 5pm!!

My room is very clean, in good shape and no mustiness or dust! :thumbsup2

Well, that is a lot to be thankful for! :thumbsup2 Have a great day!

Sounds good to me, RT, enjoy!!

I'm debating on staying at Dolphin for 4 nights in November as it is approx 500 cheaper than BWI... :teacher: Can someone tell me if there is the free service to move your luggage from BWI to Dolphin? Also, I could only book a traditional room with a king size bed (no other availability for king)... Which rooms should I request?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

We are coming in early on a Saturday morning. What is the chances of the Swan having our room ready? Would it be better for us to just go straight to the park? Or can we check in and get our room assigned but wait for it to be ready?

I would check in first! ;) When I checked in to the Dolphin Monday to a very full resort (I'm still here - the convention is leaving today), I arrived around 9am and they had a room ready for me. :goodvibes

I check in when I arrive on property and am always prepared to hear the "room isn't ready", but more often than not, it is! :thumbsup2

Hey, I see that we arrive on the same day! :thumbsup2

Not that anything is a given, but we've arrived at the Dolphin (2009) and Swan (2010 and 2011) around 11am, and our room has always been ready.

Even if it's not, though, you can certainly leave your bags with Bell Services and have them call/text you when it's ready.

Absolutely check in first! :-). I think only once our room wasn't ready, and we always take the first flight so we are in early! Have fun!

hi guys!

Well, I have a BIG problem with the current condition of the swan-dolphin grotto pool. In 1 word GROSS! I am here now Aug 28-Sept 4.

Anyway here's a link to a thread I started on the resorts board all about it : very interesting what my husband & I found out...

Does anyone else concur? If this is the case, that's HORRIBLE! It's not at all the condition of the pools when we went last summer...we LOVED the grotto pool.

I would be on the phone with Starwood corporate complaining right now! You'd best get those wristbands to the Beach/Yacht Club pools soon.

I was there July 30-August 4 and went to the pool every afternoon and it was fine - crystal clear. I was at the Swan last summer too and no problem with the pool then. As a matter fact, in all my previous stays the pool has been fine.

This seems to be so unlike the S/D. Let's hope they address it quickly. Not good for their reputation.

So I read your other thread...Gross! Question- when is the grotto pool supposed to close for refurb? We are going to be there Sept 20-22. I wonder if they will let us pool hop to the Boardwalk or to Stormalong Bay? Anyone know?

Wow...that's all kinds of disturbing. And the fact that it's happening during the hottest, most humid part of the summer adds insult to injury.

S/D management need to make this right - and fast - or this will haunt them for a very long time.

I'm sure having access to SAB would help assuage the disappointment of the guests who were looking forward to the Grotto Pool. Personally, I don't think I'd schlep all the way over to the Y&BC just for a swim...I mean, the water is just as wet in the lap pools at the S/D. I can see how the kiddies would be all about the slide and the waterfall, though, so the lap pool probably won't do it for them.

I agree that Starwood needs to be brought into the matter ASAP. Lots of squeaky wheels might spur action sooner than later.

OK, let's put this rumor that the Swan/Dolphin doesn't care to rest! I am at the Dolphin and just spent over 2 hours of my precious vacation time walking the grounds and talking to every CM, Asst Mgr and Mgr I could find.

I'm not sure who tuckerkeys' source is, but I did not come away with the same information at all. Granted, the pool is not in the pristine condition many of us have found it to be in in the past, but it is open and I was told it is safe for swimming -- it is checked every couple of hours and would be closed immediately if the ph levels did not fall within a certain range.

The surface of the pool does look dirty, and I was told it is ready for a resurfacing and they plan to do that during the upcoming refurbishment -- where they will also create a zero entry to be in ADA compliance. The date of the refurbishment is not yet known. (The original date has been temporarily postponed.)

I do want to stress that EVERYONE I talked to at the Dolphin DID CARE and I'm sorry tuckerkeys experience was different.
