Sounds great, MBELSANTI. Enjoy your trip.

As for the clown smoking on his balcony, just report him to the front desk, they will handle it. There is NO smoking anywhere on S/D property except in the actual designated smoking areas, which are clearly marked. A balcony is NOT a designated smoking area. No need for him to impinge on your trip like that.

See policy in right column and the areas marked as SA on the resort maps at the bottom....

UGH, I absolutely hate when some clown thinks the rules apply selectively. :sad2:

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

Dan- when bell services came up to deliver my Owners Locker, I told him and he was going to report it down to them. The balconies are pretty close together and he was just the second one over from us..we walked out and the wind blew it right in our faces .:sad2:

Hi everyone. We will be arriving to WDW around 10:00am on a Saturday morning.
I am wondering if it would be a good idea to go to Swan to check in or if we should just go straight to the park?
What are the chances of a room being ready that early in the morning?

Thanks!
Robin

One thing to consider about driving to the park: you'll need your Swan room key to avoid the parking fee at the theme parks.

As far as the room being ready, I guess it depends on how busy the hotel is. I've never stayed there in June, but in September and October our room has always been ready for check-in, as early as 10:30am.

We will be coming in October.
Well, I guess if we try to get our room and it is not ready, can the concerige keep our luggage? Will it magically appear in our room when it is ready?
Also, would it help if I told Swan ahead of time that we would like to check in early?

Ooops...I misread your post as arriving this Saturday.

Yes, they will hold your luggage until you return. I'm not sure about the luggage magically appearing, but a quick call to Bell Services will have them brought up to the room in no time.

You can add a notation to your reservation about your early arrival time. They're usually really good accommodating guest requests.

I am so glad things are going well for your trip! :goodvibes. What was the charge for having your Owners Locker delivered to you at the Dolphin? Curious since we have not done it before. Make it a magical trip!

Just back from our trip and our first stay at the Dolphin.

I loved it. It is a great option for a family of five. The rooms are much bigger than the regular Disney value and moderate rooms. I had a small inflatable bed for the youngest and we did not even have to pick it up during the day.

We also got the free upgrade. We had a beautiful view of the pool area and the Studios. Also could see Mount Everest and the top of Blizzard beach.

Being so close to Epcot and the Studios is great. Also so close to the Boardwalk. We had a great meal at ESPN the day we arrived-the service and food was the best we had all week. Who knew?

Thanks everyone for the great information on this thread. It's nice to know we still have onsite options for our family of five for a reasonable price.

HI Elin,

They didn't charge anything! I was worried as I heard that the charge to pick up a card was $3 and small boxes $12 :faint: I sent a message to John at OL and he said the Swan wouldn't charge and they didn't
charge a thing!
We arrived yesterday at 11am and went to check in and were given our room keys. The room wasn't ready and we asked for early check-in and they said that they would call us when the room was ready. We checked our bags in at the bell stand and they put them with the OL and we headed to the pool and changed in the Health club locker room. We swam and had lunch and browsed the shops. When we were over at the Dolphin the candy shop called to see if they had our room # and they said the room was ready. This was about 3:30PM. We headed back over and told the bellman and they met us up in our room with bags and OL. I forgot all the stuff we had in there and was glad to have it!

The bell stand told us yesterday we could either stop by there and ask them to bring the bags up or we could call from the room. We went straight to bell stand once the room was ready and they said they would meet us upstairs. In less than 5 mns our bags and Owners Locker were up in our room! pixiedust:

I was told package pickup was $10 , for sent packages held by the business area.

We arrive at the Dolphin this Saturday too.
We do not plan to have our room ready till after 3pm, so we have a lunch planned at Chef de France at 2pm.

In the past - Easter weeks at the Dolphin, our room was not ready til after 3pm.
1st time for us in the summer.

As for weather - for most of next week into 4th of July is it in the 90's and 40% chance of rain every day. I guess we need to be ready for the afternoon thunder boomers.

Our Mickey rain poncho's are packed in case it is raining when we arrive.
40% chance of rain on Saturday.

We pack our clothes in large plastic bags and then place them in our soft sided suitcase. I hope our clothes stay dry on the tarmac.

Hoping for sun sunny :beach: days next week !

Thanks, Marie! Good news. I always feel like it is Christmas when we open our OL. :rotfl: Have a great time today!

We live in SC, and normally EVERY day of the summer is around a 40% chance of rain, but this week has been rare with NO rain chances at all. It does look like we might get a little rain, but rain in Disney is better than rain at home, right? ;)

Hoping for sun sunny :beach: days next week ! Yes! So excited!

Pooh2001 & MBELSANTI:

Oh no! It looks like we're all going to potentially get Tropical Storm Debby! We bought cheapo dollar store ponchos to use and throw away as needed, but I guess we need to pull out the big guns! Travel Safely, Pooh2001, and MBELSANTI, enjoy the days of sun leading up to it ;)

The good news is that the S & D have SO much to do inside that if we're trapped for a day, we'll be fine :) The last time I experienced a Tropical Storm in WDW we were staying at Pop Century. We were basically just stuck in our room for a day and it was difficult to go anywhere.

Just FYI [and sorry if this is posted already] - I received an email response today from the Swan confirming that they do NOT accept deliveries from Garden Grocer. Their response is below :( I do not personally find the selection from the Personal Pantry offered here to fit our needs.....

Thank you for recent inquiry of The Swan and Dolphin Resort. The hotel offers the personal pantry which is an in house delivery service of food and snack items.
They may be contacted at 407-934-6087 for further information. Our guest rooms are equipped with mini refrigerators.
The Swan and Dolphin does not accept deliveries from Garden Grocer or any outside vendors.
Please feel free to contact me if I may be of any further assistance.

Have a refreshing day !

Yes, unfortunately, that policy was put into effect a few months ago.

Have you made arrangements for your transportation from the airport to the hotel yet? Most of the towncar companies offer a free 20-min stop at a grocery story (Publix), where you can pick up whatever you need.

We haven't secured transportation yet [I actually keep forgetting about this bc we're accustomed to using DME!!], but that's a great idea!!! Thank you!!!
