Can some of you see Ewan and some of you can't? I still can't see him.
OK
Mad4Mickey, this is kind of a long story, but here's what happened to us last summer at a hotel in Louisville. (Lou-a-vul) Holly always travels with her own pillow, BB (blankie) and purple bear when we drive to a vacation. We had a suite at a Radisson in d-town Louisville for one night. We had packed up and were headed back home when Holly reached inside her pillow, which is where we always put them, and BB and bear weren't there. Of course, this WAS the end of the world, for all of us. Complete devastation. We had checked out only about 15 minutes before, but were already on the interstate, so I called immediately and told them exactly where they would be in the room. They said they could ship them to us.
Got home and called to check on them and they said they couldn't find them, they weren't in the room. I knew without any doubt, 100% sure that they were. I couldn't imagine that anyone would #1 want them, as they had both been "loved" quite a bit, or #2 anyone would even think about taking a child's loved belongings. They promised a full investigation and another look around.
We went back and forth for a couple days - they can't find them, I
know they were there and someone took them. They said they had trouble communicating with the woman who had cleaned the room due to language barriers. They offered to call in the police if I wanted to file a report. At first I said no, that's silly, they're bound to turn up, I'll wait it out. I told them to let everyone know that if they have them to just drop them off annonymously (sp?), and there would be no trouble. Finally they started stonewalling me and being less willing to make ammends and I got irritated and told them I wanted to file the report with the police. Everything changed at that point. Oh, they said, you do? We'll call you back.
Next morning the manager called and said "guess what I have?". BB and purple bear had mysteriously shown up once INS and the police were mentioned. Manager asked for address where he could ship them right out to us and apologized again for the trouble. The next day Fedex knocked at the door and they had sent them - COD!

After all that, they charged me for the delivery.
Not nearly as expensive a loss, but for us, especially Holly, very devastating. I say get the police involved immediately, don't lose any time or let them tell you they'll handle it. Even though you can't prove the money was in there, they probably won't want to have the police notified. Good luck!
I'll be back in a bit - round up some more guys for my consideration!
