The New Segway Tour - Fun, Fun, Fun til

So the cost is $99?

Do you make reservations just 30 days ahead of time?

The tour lasts 3 hours so by 10am you done, correct?

Does the tour run every day?

Hi MissKitty, yes the cost is $99, it lasts three hours and you are done by 10am just as the park is opening, I'm assuming the tour runs everyday. I don't know how far ahead you can make reservations. The tour is so new, that I made a ressie for barely a week ahead. If you call the number on the first post they will tell answer any questions you have 'for sure'. :)

It was a lot of fun! I hope you get a chance to enjoy this new tour.

I just called the reservation number and the person I spoke to said the tour runs about 2 hours.

When I asked if the tour ran every day she said they had to check availability. I guess that means if only 1 person signs up they probably won't do the tour.

She also told me that you could only make reservations 30 days ahead.

Thank you! Our trip is in Oct. so I will call back in Sept and see what my options are. I plan to have DH do the tour as a surprise and I will take the kiddies out to breakfast or something. Hopefully it will work for him to take the tour on a non-EE day and then he can join us over at DL.

We are booked for 7/1 and can't wait!
A few things we were told - there is a 2 person minimum and 12 person max (it was posted 20)
the tour is 3 hours total - 1 hour of learning and 2 hours for tour
the min age is 17, but somebody else was told 16

the CM I talked to was really nice but did not know much about the tour and kept having to ask others.

I thought 20 seemed too many, but the first person I spoke to did say that. The paperwork that was given to me and printed from Disney states 16 as the minimum age and our tour guides said 16 too. I think there is some confusion from the tour bookers as people are getting different information.

Do you need to bring you own Segway? I don't own one and have never ridden, but would love to learn how to ride one.

Are they difficult to learn to use? Should a newbie even attempt to tour at DCA?

Will I be the only "younger" person in the group. (Im 23). Not sure if this is for older people or for young adults as well.

Thanks

:rotfl: Sorry, that made me giggle! No, DLR provides the Segway. You get an hour of training on how to use it, then a 2 hour tour of DCA. Anyone over 16 or 18 (whichever is the correct answer) can ride, so I would suspect you won't be the youngest who has taken the tour and I would suspect many people over 55-60 wouldn't be interested.

LOL...made me chuckle too! BYOS...bring your own segway!! Hey, its a good question though!!
Since Dangermouse already answered that one...I'll add that you learn everything you need to know in the first hour. I did the Epcot tour last year and LOVED it. I was a bit nervous, but they have you practice every step over and over, then once you are comfortable moving on it they have you practice turns and stopping/starting etc.
I think the segway is great for young & old! My son has rented segways with his girlfriend and loved them and he just turned 23. Our group that is going is 22-47.

I am calling today, that sounds like it is different and fun :)

This may be a stupid question, so I apologize up front.

Do you just ride the segways around the park for the 2 hours, or are some of the rides open for you to ride early?

It is a tour of DCA on a Segway. You do not ride any DCA attractions, you do not get preferred seating later in the day for anything and you do not get fast passes.

You DO get a great tour of DCA while riding a Segway with no other guests in the park. It's a really fun experience. (ages 16 and older, guests under 18 must be with parent/gaurdian, guests must weigh between 100 & 250 lbs., must be able ot maintain lateral-side to side- balance, must wear closed toe shoes, athletic shoes recommended)
no need to bring your own Segway, they are provided ;)

No, you don't need admission. You will be escorted to the gate to exit (or at least we were) but if you want to stay, they will scan your ticket or AP for you and let you stay in the park. They asked us as we went to get our picture.

Hey us older ones love the Segway tours too! DH 50 and I 45 have taken the Epcot tour twice. If I can do it pretty much anyone can, I'm not the most coordinated person in the world.
