The eternal paradox you face
Inside, the fire keeps burning,
Searing every last nerve and sense
And you want so bad to quench the flame
You want to stop hurting yet you need the pain
You try to rationalize and argue, refuse your mind
You think it over and over and try to define
The things that you feel, the scorching of your soul
What happens when the fire finally stops?
What happens when all that’s left is ashes?
And the emptiness is worse than before,
And the pain has branded your very core?
What happens when the emotions spark,
And the flame grows
Destroying not only mind, but also body and soul?
