Sorry to ask again but does anyone know how check-in is on a Saturday? We'll be arriving Dec 5th so not peak season or anything but just wondering how long to expect the process to take on a Saturday that time of year.

THANKS!

I haven't been to the Polynesian since 2005. This June I'm planning breakfast at Ohana then DH has a Segway tour in Epcot at 9:30 am.

So here are my questions:

What time does Ohana start serving breakfast? 7 or 7:30?

Would it be faster to walk to the TTC to get the Epcot monorail? Do the paths to the TTC have signs leading the way? Looking at the resort map, we can get lost amung the longhouses.:lmao:

I need to get to Epcot at 9am for DH to check in at GS at 9:15. We could always split up and he can run ahead, but I'd like him to at least eat before his tour.

Thanks in advance for your help! I know I walked from the TTC when I stayed at the poly and remember it felt so far from our Samosa room! :rotfl:

Oh, we plan on taking the boat over from the GF. :thumbsup2

Ohana opens at 7:00 AM and it's faster to walk to the TTC. You should also not worry about getting lost since there are signs saying which way to go, so follow them and you will be fine.

Do you recommend a time I should make the ADR for? Would 7:30 be okay?

The Torch Lighting ceremony is around 6pm if I remember correctly. In December, Lipoa blew the conch to let people know it was time for the ceremony to begin.

I don't know about the Tiki mask but I'm guessing that's in the Keki Korner (the area in front of the HDTV) in the GCH.

You get your leis at check-in or you can get them at the bell desk where an island guide usually has a bowl full of them.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

thanksss!! :)

I noticed the breakfast menu at Capt Hooks has a kids breakfast plate. Does anyone know if this plate includes mickey waffles? Or is it just bacon and eggs?

Here's another 'food' question....On allears it says Captain Cooks has Polynesian Chips. Are these french fries or acutally some type of chip?

I'm sure others can elaborate (I never eat them) but they're like a tortilla type chip. Not fries...

There are no balconies on the second floor of Rarotonga :)

:rotfl: I didn't think so, but I was having a "senior moment" on that building--guess it's been too long since I was there last. :rotfl2: That will be rectified in a little over 100 days. :thumbsup2 Thanks Sea Turtles!

Hi. We are going to the Poly in 1 week. I know that refrigerators are available, but do I have to request one or are they automatically in the room?
Thanks.

PS I thought I read somewhere that the torch lighting ceremony didn't happen anymore. Was that just a vicious rumor?

It was 21 degrees today,,,can't wait to go to my second home in September!!!:goodvibes

I've been making payments faithfully, and the balance is going down slowly but surely. I toyed with the idea of going back to a regular room but I just can't do it!! I guess that means more overtime for me!:lmao:

Hello,
I have read that the 2nd floor rooms in hawaii do not have balconies but can you still open the doors or are they windows that don't open. Thanks for the information.

no balcony but yes the sliding doors do open. My girls stood and looked out a lot from there.

We are heading down in 41 days:cool1: :cool1: and I just got flights yesterday- FINALLY!! Our flight doesnt arrive until 5:35. Does anyone know what time we might make it to the hotel with DME? Also, does this mean we will have less of a chance of getting our longhouse request-Tokelou?

Also, does the room fridge have a freezer?

One more question--can you get fries instead of the chips that come with the meals at Cpt. Cooks?

Can't answer your first questions, but I can help with the last two. :) Fridges don't have freezers in them, but things get pretty cold. Also, yes, you can substitute fries, but we were unable to do it at the ordering station -- had to follow up with the cashier when reordering the food.

HTH a little! :) Have a great trip!!

The rooms don't have a freezer however you can make the temperature in the fridge colder, although I don't think that is recommended since some items can completely freeze.

Finally french fries can be ordered as a side item at Captin Cook's because that's what I did when eating there. Unless you can ask them to substitue the chips for the fries so you don't pay extra for them, however I don't remember seeing an option on the ordering screen how to do that.
