Well I haven't posted in a while here just because I wasn't sure whether it was all going to come together or not, but we booked the Poly yesterday!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

And thanks to this thread and a great rate from our travel agent, the whole family was on board to stay Club level!!:woohoo: :woohoo: They'll be 13 of us in all!

So now all I have to do is wait until December. :faint:

Thanks to everyone on this thread!!

i checked out the menu for capt cooks breakfast...doesnt look there is much there. do they also have the normal hot breakfast items?

That menu used to be incomplete but I just looked at it and I think it may have everything on it. The counter service spots at deluxe resorts don't have the selection that food courts do. But kona and room service are two other options.

How exciting!:cool1: Good to see you back on the thread and happy planning!:goodvibes

Any idea on how long it will take to CHECK IN on a Saturday in early December? We're thinking of arriving on Dec 5th but if check-in on a Sat is going to be a HUGE hassle then we can wait till Sun or Mon. Any thoughts or words of wisdom? (We'd be in regular rooms, not club by the way!) THANKS!

Anyone who has been to the Poly before know if there are over the door hooks in the bathrooms? I want to take a hanging organizer for the bathroom for everyday essentials, and put it on the back of the bathroom door.

If there are not hooks on the doors I can bring my own over the door hook without a problem, I just thought they might already have them to hang robes and such on.

Silly question, I know...

We are leaving for the Poly in 9 days! can't wait! We hope to see a Steeler Victory Parade at MK!

There are wall hooks inside the bathroom next to the tub for robes, etc.. There are also cubby holes under the sink for makeup bags and vanity kits.

Been lurking, first time posting. Our fam will be staying at the Poly at the end of Feb, so 30 days and counting! I'm still catching up on all the posts on this thread, but I do have some questions I'll post after I get through the entire thing. DH and I haven't been since the 80s when we were kids, never stayed at the Poly, and this will be my DD's first trip to DW. She's 4, very into the princesses, and extremely excited (as am I).

i have a question about resort happenings.

when is the torch lighting? and what other fun things are there? i know kaleo is gone :( but what about that create a tiki mask thing? where is that? and where/when do we get our leis?

thanks! :)

Well, we just booked a last minute (almost literally) trip for Feb 1st to the 8th. I actually just booked this Tuesday since we wanted to get one last use out of our annual passed before they expire in April. We started out at POFQ because the Poly was sold out for our dates. The poly opened up later that day and I changed over to the Poly concierge :cool1: I love the Poly and this will be our 10th stay here and our 2nd in concierge.

This is where my question comes in. We are there from the 1st to the 8th. We have friends flying down and staying at Shades of Green from the 6th to the 13th. I really want to show them the concierge lounge at the Poly - I don't want to feed them or anything - just give them a tour, and not during the fireworks or anything like that. Are we allowed to bring them in and show them around, or is it STRICTLY for guests only?:confused3

Thanks for any official rules or opinions :)

It should not be a problem to give your friends a tour of the concierge building. I would inquire at the concierge desks if it would be a problem and I'm willing to bet it will not be an issue.

Someone earlier posted a question about bathroom hooks that BCV answered. I would also add that there is a full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door in case the OP was planning to use an over the door type organizing bag.

The Torch Lighting ceremony is around 6pm if I remember correctly. In December, Lipoa blew the conch to let people know it was time for the ceremony to begin.

I don't know about the Tiki mask but I'm guessing that's in the Keki Korner (the area in front of the HDTV) in the GCH.

You get your leis at check-in or you can get them at the bell desk where an island guide usually has a bowl full of them.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

I've seen children working on masks at a table across from Boutiki. The schedule and location for activities will be in your checkin info.

Thanks for adding that, Tess. I almost mentioned it but just couldn't remember for sure if the mirror was on the inside or outside of the door!:upsidedow

Hey Fellow Poly Fans!

Just some good news for us going next month. I just got an email from "Passporter" saying that the new MK afternoon parade is going to be starting on Jan. 27th! :cool1:

Hello to all of my Poly fans.... :wave2:

I have a question....

Will I get my room by 3:00pm??? Our plane lands at 6:04AM, we plan on just hanging out around the hotel and letting the girls swim and stuff. We are planning on taking the girls to dinner that night around 4:30. I will need to give them showers and do their hair and stuff for dinner. I am just worried that if my room is not ready by 3 that maybe I should make my PS for later???

Thanks for any input!

Thanks for letting me know about the mirror on the back of the bathroom door, I guess I will find somewhere else to hang my bathroom organizer.

For those who were asking about CONNECTING ROOMS in the Polynesian, I just spoke to someone at the front desk of the Poly and was told there are connecting rooms available in every longhouse. He did say that there are a limited number in each longhouse. I had already requested Samoa and he did say there are connecting rooms in Samoa but he also mentioned that it is the most requested building so the request is not guaranteed.

I have been looking through the posts but can someone help me?

I am wondering if anyone can tell me the longhouses that have balconys for all the floors. It is important for us to have someplace to go while the kids sleep. We have no problem requesting 1st floor for the patio but to be even more sure we have a place to go, we will request a place that has all balcony's - if that is possible.

Thanks. :)

If the balcony or patio is your only big wish, I would request just that and let the pixie dust fly as to which longhouse you receive. This will give the request for a balcony or patio priority.

If you must request a longhouse, Tokelau, Tahiti, and Rapa Nui all have patios/balconies. Someone help me out here, does Rarotonga also have patio/balconies on all 3? I'm drawing a blank. . .
