I am searching for the shipping address for the Polynesian. My apologies if it is somewhere in this thread, but I did not see it on the first page that contained most of the important info.

We will be traveling to the Poly in just 2 weeks. I had toyed with the idea of a holiday tree for in our room, but the Disney Florist prices are way out of my budget. However, today I received an email from Home Depot which included a very nice, decorated tree for just $29.99 with free shipping. Might be too good to pass up, if I can have it shipped directly to the Poly & waiting for us at check-in. :santa:

Here's the address:
Disney's Polynesian Resort is located at 1600 Seven Seas Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.

Be sure to put "Guest Name: --------; Arriving --/--/--"
Congrats on the tree :thumbsup2

OMG I totally agree! I've heard a lot of people make negative comments stating how the Poly looks like "Brady Bunch goes to Hawaii".

For me, it's a selling point!! :rotfl2:

The mysterious tiki, Alice and the girls in hula lessons, Greg's surfing accident, the spider... Ahhh, the memories. :lmao:

Ahh the surfing accident, the necklace and Vincent Price in the cave - priceless, good times, good times!! lmbo!!!

Thanks for the help with the bldg and rooms on the 3rd floor.

I am getting more excited to stay here as the days go by. My kids really want to go back to the GF but I think we should broaden our horizens and besides the Poly is cheaper!!!!

Thanks 'Johnsonet'!

I know I have seen it posted somewhere before, but just couldn't put my finger on that addy when I finally needed it! Thanks for the helping hand. :goodvibes

That's a great idea!! Enjoy your holiday trip! :santa:

As a Type-A personality, it isn't a trip to Disney World unless I have a few 'spaz sessions' before we leave. :lmao: And when we did the Land and Sea with the Poly, I had even more of a spaz attack because passports and other necessities were involved. Don't worry, you're normal and you'll have a wonderful trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much. It is good to know I'm not the only one who has "spaz attacks":thumbsup2 I am positive everything will be perfect. Can't wait to finally be at the Poly. I have wanted to stay there ever since our first WDW visit eight years ago. :woohoo:
Thanks again for your help:flower3:

Love this thread. I had a moment to myself and I thought I'd go down the Poly memory lane. We stayed at the Poly in October 07 and boy has this fall been rough thinking just a year ago we were at Disney. We're thinking of going again next year - we wanted to try CR but boy we had a wonderful time at the Poly. It was just great - the pool, beach, fireworks and the monorail & TTC so close. Not sure I'll be able to book another resort. Hopefully we'll be able to go next fall.

Long story short I'm subscribing to this thread to get all the news on the Poly. For all those that have vacations planned, have a wonderful time. The Poly is awesome and to me its well worth the money.

I have been enjoying this thread and need to thank all of you for helping me make the biggest money decision in my life next to buying our house and getting married :rotfl:. I booked a room at CSR, then switched to ASMu family suite and minutes ago, emailed :surfweb: our TA at Dreams Unlimited to switch to Poly GV AND add a night for 12/4/09 - 12/11/09. I used AAA for 15% off but the sticker shock :scared1: and pit in my stomach  is still there. I wonder if there may be a bigger discount offered between now and then that we could use.

This will be our first family trip (our b/g twins will be 3yrs2mos) and may be one of maybe two trips we'll make to WDW (I can hear the gasps from all you frequent World visitors) so why not do it up right the first time??? I am trying to justify paying more than double for the room by focusing on the ease to MK and Epcot, watching fireworks from the beach, options to eat, etc. My DH even agreed with me (actually you) on all the pros by staying at the Poly and not out in hills. Also my girl has been recently diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), has many food allergies and may be better off at a place that appears to be a little more relaxed, has no Pop Warner and won't be over stimulated. I write all this b/c I just want you all to tell me that we made a good choice and I know you will since this is THE POLY thread ;) . Thanks for reading this, I'm excited :yay:, nervous  and can't believe it's still over a year away.

Don't second guess your decision! Poly is AWESOME for kids in the spectrum. My youngest DD(7) is PDD-NOS, has a mild muscular myopathy, asthma, and food allergies. We have stayed at CR and Poly and Poly is our favorite. You really can't beat the location and transportation. The monorail to MK and Epcot is a godsend. My DD used to freak out on the buses, found that out the hard way going to AK from CR:scared1: . We ended up using taxis to go where the monorail wasn't available.

The pool at Poly is great having the zero entry because little ones can just sit and play in the shallow areas or wander over to the beach area and dig thru the sand. The food is very tasty and CC's (as ALL the Disney eateries) was very quick to let us know which foods were safe/unsafe. We find it helpful to order some safe staples from GG too to keep in the room.

The rooms are very spacious and quiet with soothing darker colors which is essential after sensory overload in the parks. The lighting is also quite low and you may need to bring a flashlight to read pill bottles and such at night when there is no sunlight.

If your little ones have sensitive skin, I would recommend bringing your own soap/shampoo from home. My DD broke out from the spa line toiletries.

You will love the Poly:love: If you want to know more, feel free to pm me.

Thanks Grace&Carolinesmom you really helped us out as well. I am glad to know about the bath products. Our daughter is highly sensitive and sometimes we forget in the rush to get things ready. I am putting that on my pre-planning list. Also I was trying to find out about the pool...so the entry is great. Are there any photos of the pool anywhere by chance or beach?

Yes, that's great advice that I have NEVER ever thought of or read in any of my lurking. My DD has eczema and we use all fragrence free stuff from lotion to soap to shampoo. Thank you for that nugget. Now let's see if I can actually retain this information between now and next December! :thumbsup2

Vincent Price in the cave... When he ties Greg Peter and Bobby up and tries to make them tell where they found "the idol". He says, "You think about it. While I go reheat my beans." ROFLMBO.. :lmao: Seriously. I just you-tubed it.

Ok, I'll stop. I hope the Poly can live up to my Brady expectations. LOL. :lmao:

I was thinking of Vincent Price, too. The Brady Bunch was the first thing I ever saw him in, and he scared me! Whenever I see him (or hear him in "Thriller" I always think back to that scary old man in the cave with the tikis!:)

Thanks for the memories!:)

Now I'm looking forward to my trip even more!!!:)

I just wanted to chime in with my agreement that the rooms at the Poly are darkly soothing and peaceful, thanks to the decor. After a day at the parks coming "home" was so nice. DH and I felt so calm and pampered staying at the Poly in Sept.
Once you were rejuvenated all you needed to do was step outside and get back into the action of the pool or watch Wishes or grab the monorarail...the Poly is the perfect resort:lovestruc

Also I was trying to find out about the pool...so the entry is great. Are there any photos of the pool anywhere by chance or beach?

Do you think we will be able to enjoy some pool time first week of December?

Thanks for the great pictures of the pool!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to chime in and say how excited I am to be staying at the Poly this coming April, and how much fun I have been having reading everyone's entries! I am truly indebted to everyone who has contributed information to this thread -- it's the best!

We are a family who only goes to WDW every several years (stayed at Ft. Wilderness cabins and AKL, which we loved, before), so we have decided to splurge! Got the 4/3 deal for Poly LVCL (is that the correct abbrev????)! We have three daughters, 11, 9 and turning 3 on the vacation, so the ease of being on the monorail really appeals to me. I haven't been to the Poly since the late 1970s! (I know that dates me!) Has it changed much? (joking).

Question: can anyone tell me if certain rooms/floors in Hawaii are noisier than others? My youngest daughter takes after me, and is a light sleeper, so this is information that would be useful for us to know!

Can't wait to go! (My husband thinks I am obsessive about planning for WDW, and probably nuts. I, however, really enjoy it!)

Annie, you're going to love the Poly!! :)

I've only stayed on the 3rd floor of Hawaii, but if I had to guess, I would think that the 2nd floor *might* be the noisiest (if it's noisy at all), if only because that's also the main floor of the lounge. And also because you'd have people in rooms above and below yours.

Honestly, though, we've stayed on all 3 floors of different buildings at the Poly and only ever noticed noise coming between the rooms where there was a connecting door, and even that was slight.

Hope this helps a little! :goodvibes

Wee Annie We were also on third floor of Hawaii. It was very quiet. We were GV however and we were the last room in the hall with no neighbors on one side. After a fabulous, rockin day at the parks it was heavenly to grab a drink in the lounge and go back to our quiet room:thumbsup2 I think the second floor would be noisiest too..maybe just a little at the lounge end. You'll love the Poly:)

:welcome:

My family also goes to WDW just every few years. We're trying out the Poly LVCL for the first time in April, too! If you want a quieter room, I would suggest requesting one from the Poly IPO (and maybe asking not to be too close to the lounge).

Have fun planning!:)
