Well, regardless of what they're called, has anyone ever heard of a sighting of these creatures in the lagoon? I think that's some info I may need to know ---- not too interested in coming across one! :scared1: :scared:

Yes, We rented a pontoon and spent an hour or so touring around the lake looking at the resorts, wildlife, flora and yes alligators. It wasn't too large maybe about 6 feet. When we returned to the Poly and checked our pontoon back in they ask if we saw anything "unusual" in the lake? I told them we didn't see anything we wouldn't see in any other Florida waterway. She smiled and said she was glad we were not upset about seeing an alligator. I guess a couple of weeks before they noticed by the volcano pool area that the ducks were being chased by children but WOULD not go back into the water. One of the CM's noticed it and saw the reason. A really big alligator. SMART DUCKS I wouldn't worry about it, just don't go wadeing or swimming. :rolleyes1

Are the buses at the Poly very good for these 2 parks? (I know they share with CR and GF.) Would it be a better option to get these buses from the TTC? What is the earliest these buses begin?

Would we be better off using a taxi?

Slightly off topic, but does anyone have a time machine I can rent or know of a witchdoctor that can fast forward time? I'm not asking for much, just skip April (nobody will miss it) so it can be May already. I've printed out pictures of the Poly and pasted them around the house, set up a hammock in the living room, and even asked my DW to wear a hula skirt but it's just not quite the same as being there. sigh :lmao:

Back on topic.....what's the best way to handle arrival by car? Can I just pull up and drop off DW and the little ones and then go park? Any experience with this? We're driving down from Jersey (road trip!) since none of us are big fans of flying. Plus if you fly you lose the ability to flip off other drivers. Errr.....not that I do that or anything. :rolleyes1

Can I borrow it when you're finished using it? I also just need to skip April!! Graduation and WDW, here I come!

I'm thinking of upgrading to CL. My reasoning is since we are on DDP, we can eat breakfast in the lounge (aside from 2 mornings at Kona!), and when we return to the resort for the afternoon siesta we can stop in for a snack or drink. That saves TS for dinner. I know that sounds crazy and does NOT rationalize an extra $800, but it works for me! ;) :lmao:

Sure thing, but sadly I haven't found one yet. They did advertise a time machine on an infomercial last night, but it sounded a little shady....

"Billy Mays Hayes here to introduce the latest product that's sweeping the nation. From the makers of Swiffer and 'I can't believe it's not butter'....because it's not, comes the Time Zapper 2000! Tired of waiting for that vacation that seems like it will never come? Zap it! Got that Aunt/Uncle/Husband/Wife that refuses to kick the bucket and get on with leaving you everything? Zap it! Wish you could go back in time and relive those glory days of your youth that you falsely built up in your mind? Zap it! That's right, with the Time Zapper 2000 you just enter the machine and Zap yourself either forward or backwards in time. Just sit inside and press a button and the Time Zapper 2000 breaks all the laws of physics for you. But you have to act quickly as this unbelievable price won't last long. The Time Zapper 2000 can be yours for four simple payments of $599.95!

Disclaimer....
The makers of Time Zapper 2000 are not responsible for lost luggage, children or body parts during time travel. Side effects are generally mild and that severe tingly feeling should go away in a week or two. If it doesn't, or you notice that not all of your body parts made it through, then see a doctor. The Time Zapper 2000 has been outlawed in all states but Rhode Island, but let's face it, Rhode Island isn't big enough to be a state. The Time Zapper 2000 cannot transport you to any day ending in the letter "y", such as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.....ect. Some assembly is required and we are not responsible for missing or "extra parts", lack of engineering degree or oil stains on your rug.

Please how much is the cost for this wonderful machine:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I suppose some people will say you are carzy but not me:lmao: I actually am staying club level and have done so but not at the Poly and use the dining plan. This year I am taking the deluxe since last year at the GFRPC we had the similar package and it worked well. We found staying for an extended time (10 days) that we get tired of the breakfast in the lounge and having the plan allowed us some breakfasts out. As well this year I am planning signature dining for the evenings and eithe at TS breakfast or lunch daily. As well we plan on some room service since the view looks beautiful from the balconys or rooms and what a better place to have a quiet meal and still have the avaliability of the lounge offerings.
Keep in mind that the CL food settings other than breakfast are not meant to be meals for you but snacks.

The better option would be to get these buses from the TTC. No stops at the GF. :) Bus transportation usually starts running at least 1 hour before the parks open.

A taxi is always the fastest and most convenient option. :thumbsup2 There is a taxi line right in front of the Poly...with plenty of them waiting for hire.

You're not crazy at all! :thumbsup2 I'm planning a CL trip and am using the DDP for the same reasoning.

LOL! No way! I am going in just 9 days so no skipping April!!!!!

No worries, well take you along with us!:thumbsup2 Then we can travel back in time and you can go again in April. Hey....wait a minute....if we do that then we can go forward in time and do Disney, then travel back in time before we leave and then cancel our trip and save money, yet still have the experience! It's a win-win situation! Sure it might wreak havoc with the whole time continum thingy, but who cares, we'll leave that to the Disney Imagineers to figure out. :lmao:

Hey, I somehow brought time travel into a Disney thread. I earn double geek points for that. My DnD friends would be so proud.:wizard:

Thanks BCV and SeaSpray for the Tangaroa Terrace/Snack Isle info. It would be cool if they put a full-on lounge over there at TT. Drop the kids off at Neverland and go down some Lapu Lapus, listen to some live music. I mean Tambu Lounge is great but it's just so out in the middle of it all. I need another Captain Cook's Hideaway. ;)

I am assuming that this is the correct discussion to ask for some help. We are staying at the Beachclub in June, Sun-Th.........well, that is just not going to be long enough for me. I have been working on trying to stay two more nights, F-S and I can't believe I booked the Poly! I am so so excited, since it is the only Deluxe (besides Wilderness Lodge which I would not stay at since I live in Cinti and need to feel like I'm in Fl, not Montana or home) we have not stayed at.

I booked a garden room for $399.00 w/out a discount! I am AAA and Annual Passholder so hopefully it gets a discount before my stay! Hard on the pocketbook. I need to get the most out of that money which means I need to request the best room possible that is in the garden view category! I would love to be close to the main pool, since I have teenagers and we are going to focus mostly on getting the most out of this resort for two days. Any help would be wonderful, and thanks for this thread it has been so very helpful to me.

Hi there!

Both Samoa and Niue have garden views of the main pool and are real close to GCH, with Niue being right next to the GCH. :thumbsup2 You could also do Fiji as it has garden views of the main pool, but it's on the other side of the marina and a little farther away from the GCH.

I sent you a PM with info on Steve's site so you can get all the information you need.:thumbsup2

Subbing!

I'm so excited! The Poly is my DREAM resort and because of the Free Dining promo released yesterday, we were able to take the savings and upgrade from our original booking at the WL.

I'm not one to wish time away, but if only time would speed up a little bit (except for those of you with visits to the World between now and then).

We're booked in a Garden View room (which is fine by me; I'd have taken the broom closet with no sink if it meant staying here). It's just two of us traveling, both adults (best friends), no kids. We don't have to be near the pool, but we would like something with a balcony or patio (I know some of the 2nd floors don't have this). It would be nice to be in a quieter area, but we don't want to be 6 miles from the GCH either.

Your opinions on room requests would be greatly appreciated. I know they aren't guaranteed and I wasn't sure what to put, so here I am turning to the all-knowing DIS population for help. (ETA: I was thinking Tokelau or Tahiti.)

Thanks in advance!

:flower3:

Just got off the phone with Disney, and they'll be expanding the photo shoots to the Poly on April 27!! I am super excited. GF seemed like a nice backdrop, but the Poly?!?! Gorgeous!!

It also expands to Saratoga Springs on April 15.

This is awesome! It'll be great for me and DD8 to do when we go for Christmas.

We stayed in Tokelau and thought it was a great location. Not too far from the GCH, and a 5 -6 minute walk over to the TTC if you wanted to head to Epcot. We requested this building and a room on the third floor. We had both requests honored.

The Poly is beautiful...my fave!

We requested Tokelau and it was full upon arrival so we got room 2801 in Rarotonga, after upacking we decided it was not worth the hassle of repacking just to switch rooms but were regretting that almost towards end of trip, the room we got was too close to AC central unit? and we heard and felt (floor shaking noise!) and big bang every so often before AC would come on, never complaint about it but towards end of trip did get to us, at times the bang was so loud it would wake you up in your sleep. Does anyone else ever experienced something like this?
