:goodvibes Thank you for the Tikiman information! His site is so full of information:goodvibes

Question: DH would like to know - Since the Poly has no gym, is he able to take the monorail over to the GF to workout in the morning? Thanks

Yep, he can use the gym at the GF! I think some people even say they walk over there, but I have no idea where the path is.

Hey guys, Last minute question.

I see the coffee pot on the first page, it looks like it has coffee packs there. Do they supply those and what type of coffee do they have?
Wondering if we should bring filters and our own coffee!! THANKS!

There are signs on the grounds which say where the walkway to the Grand Floridian is, so it's very easy to find and a very easy walk to do.

Yes, it is an easy walk. In fact, it is faster to walk there than to monorail to the GF and walk back to the Spa as it's located between the Polynesian and GF.

Yes, the Poly does supply those coffee packs. It's some kind of generic brand of coffee used in hotels-in regular and decaf blends. If you're not picky about coffee it's good enough. However if you are partial to a certain kind of coffee I'd highly suggest bringing your own and filters.

They do sell Kona blend coffee at the Kona Island coffee bar (and sell 100% Kona cofee beans in bags) but it's not the same as having your own in the room. :goodvibes

Thanks so much! DH is the coffee drinker (I can't stand the stuff) he's decided to bring his own since he's a bit of a coffee snob.

Can anyone tell me please - is it better to go to the TTC to catch the buses to AK and DHS? I'm curious because the last two times we stayed at the Poly we avoided the buses altogether because of the extremely long lines and overcrowding.

Hiya! :goodvibes I would say yes, definitely go to the TTC to catch the buses to AK and DHS. I've found that the buses also seem to come by more frequently for these parks than at the Poly. It's a nice walk there--around2 - 5 minutes depending on how far away your longhouse is from the TTC.

You're welcome! I remember the bit about bringing your own coffee as last Christmas I meant to bring my Starbucks ground coffee and forgot about it. Definitely put a 'bug' in his ear about the pressed pot of 100% Kona Coffee. Coffee snobs/addicts like me would inhale the stuff if we could. :thumbsup2

I would keep that in mind as a 2nd option which is good to have incase the buses are taking to long to arrive. In December when my family and I went to DHS we had no problems with the buses and did not need to walk over to the TTC.

Ok all you Poly vets out there. What is the easiest way to get over to the boardwalk if we do not want to go through EPCOT? In all the years we have been we haven't been over there and my DM is wanting to this year. We will have a rental car for part of our trip so that maybe the easiest option.

Thank you MsStinkerBelle and CR Resort Fan 4 Life for the info regarding the TTC. We actually walked from the TTC a few times last year back to the Poly after taking the monorail from epcot - just seemed easier than going through the whole transfer issue late at night. So we will definitely try and catch the buses from there rather than spending extra on cabs back and forth. :)

Well, it's official. My DH and I are staying at The Poly - Club Level Lagoon View Dec. 9-14. :woohoo: This will our first stay at The Poly. SeaSpray's last Poly TR with all those beautiful pictures convinced me.

we are official now too :) Booked March 20-28, but I think I'll call back and add the 29th. I'm now hoping for a code since I can't use the code I got last week as it expires at the end of 2008. ((biting nails nervously))

Anyone else going for Columbus Day weekend?
My DH convinced me to get his ticket to go down the day before I go. I'll have school that Saturday, and I'm not allowed to miss, so he said he will go to "prepare" First he said he'll pick me up from the airport, but after I booked his ticket, he said, "isn't there a bus that'll pick you up?" :rolleyes1 Man, did he finagle his way! I told him I don't care if I interrupt his pool/bar time, he better be at the entrance to the Poly with a Pineapple drink w/umbrellas in it, a set of Happy 40th Birthday Mickey Ears (I told him he has to research that) waitng for me at the entrance when I step off that bus!:rotfl:
My husband likes to have a good time, so if you see Big Ed at the Poly Barefoot Bar on October 10th, pull up a seat alongside of him - he loves to talk!

Have a great time and good luck with getting a code.

Kathy, I am so very happy for you. :cheer2: :jumping1: Woo Hoo your doing my two favorite resorts. I am sure they will be yours too! (I know you love, love the AKL, but a stay at the poly makes it even better. What a wonderful way to start the Christmas holiday.

Wow that man is good :rolleyes1 You are going to work and he is heading to WDW! I bet you he has something very special planned for you and he has to get there early to set it up. :goodvibes Congratulations on your first trip in 16 years. party: :bday:

Question for you Poly vets...how many watts are the in-room hairdryers/blowdryers? We went on a Disney cruise and the blowdryer in the cabin was not too powerful and took forever to dry my hair. I don't want to have to carry a hairdryer, but also want to be able to do my hair in a reasonable time. Not that it will likely matter given the heat and humidity in September!
