I got a subscription to Celebrations after Shelly mentioned it and read it cover to cover. It had some really neat info, and there is a great kids section with puzzles and stuff that my kids really enjoyed! I also get Disney's Family Fun magazine which has cool projects and holiday stuff (that one you can get really cheap too!)
My inlaws decided last night that they might like to join us for Thanksgiving for a few days (I've only been asking them for a year). So now I'm scrambling to see what's available and affordable. We'll see!

it only took you one year to convince your in-laws to join you?:lmao: It took me about 20!! MIL finally joined us in July 09 but FIL still didn't. We had a great time. She brought our niece who was 10, a great time was had by all.

Have you found a resort yet? We'll be at Saratoga in a 2 bedroom villa. My sister and her family are joining us. The villas have lots of room, full kitchens and washer-dryers! :thumbsup2

Hello! Today we just added a quick, last minute trip since I found out schools are out in our area the entire week of Thanksgiving.

November 21-24 @ SSR

The trip will be DH, myself and our two girls (5 and 1). This is approx my 30th trip and we have ressies for Kona (23rd) and Liberty Tree Tavern (22nd). Main goal is to see Osbourne and Castle lights again.

We are driving down from Virginia and taking the Autotrain back.

Oh, so you don't have anything for Thanksgiving day itself. Keep trying. We've got Chef Mickey for Thanksgiving dinner. It'll be our first CM.

We actually leave the day before Thanksgiving!:sad2:I'm hoping something else opens up at SSR or another resort but if not, no prob...we weren't expecting to go until May again, so this is truly an early Christmas Present!

We booked Liberty Tree Tavern since they have what sounds like a great Thanksgiving meal for dinner and I know I won't be cooking once we get home on T-day! I hope it is as good as the menu makes it to be!

Good Morning Everyone !

Another beautiful day in Connecticut, the humidity is still low, sunny with a nice breeze.

Today marks 9 months since I quit smokeing

&

In 103 more days I will be on the plane flying to WDW ! :dance3:

Hope everyone has a Great Day :goodvibes

Hey ... did you call the other non-DVC resorts? Maybe something is available and you can just transfer over. We do that all the time! Its way better than leaving!:rotfl2:

Liberty Tree has that Thanksgiving meal every day all year! It should be great since its their special theme ::yes::

Good morning! Nice here too, what a relief after that heat and humidity last week. Whew. I was almost wishing for a one day blizzard. ;)

Congrats on your 9 months of no smoking. I wish I could do it...I quit last year for 3 months and then started again. I have another prescription for Chantix, just have to get it filled when I'm ready again. I tried everything else: the patch, gum, getting hypnotized but Chantix seemed to work the best for me...at least for 3 months it did. :guilty:

I decided last year after my trip to Disney to finally listen to my Dr's and quit. I hated having to run around to find the smokeing areas in the parks, making my morning coffee and having to take it outside to the smokeing area outside our building in OKW, I tried quite a few times before this last time when I suceeded.

I also tried Chantix, took the first weeks pills and started the second week of no smoking and week 2 of the pills but I was having the freakiest dreams and my family all said I was a Major B**** with the worst mood swings so I quit Chantix and of course started smokiing again not that I really quite that time since I think I only went 2 days :rotfl:

This time I picked a day and went for it cold turkey, I did not drink coffee for 5 months since that was one of my "triggers" , Now I enjoy a cup or two of coffee each morning (since March) but drink decafe since I no longer need that jolt to wake me up in the morning .

I wish you the best of luck in quiting and hope Chantix works for you, for myself it was mind over matter

Yep, it really is a pain looking for DSAs in the parks all the time. Absolutely a time waster! :headache:

I had bizarro-world dreams with Chantix too, but they were kind of interesting. ;) I've read and heard that cold turkey seems to be longer lasting..that people stay quit more often than not. My big problem is the habit part, once those first days of walking into walls as the nicotine gets out of me, I go crazy when I talk on the phone or other times when I'm usually smoking. It's a booger, if I knew this back when I started I'd have never started at all.

There are so many "Triggers" talking on the phone as you mentioned, getting in the car, sitting at the computer, they are have you wanting to reach for that smoke , my worst was the coffee, I use to drink coffee all day long

Hey, labdogs!! So you booked the AT -- did you do coach or get a room? We did 4 coach seats just last week for our return from WDW. In November we got a great deal for Family Room ... will be nice to compare the two.

Overall, we found the train to be a great option -- even with coach seats to sleep on we felt more relaxed than driving for 2-3 days.

I will recommend that each family member take their own pillow, blanket, toothbrush, something to read/play with, and a drink or two...they provide snacks (salty munchies, apples, oranges and cookies) and the food is Really good! (I was surprised by that!).

Also, many congrats on those who quit smoking -- what a life-saving accomplishment!!:cool1:

Absolutely worst for me was the morning coffee. Ack. I'd like to get started maybe next week with the quit so at least I'll be (hopefully) finished with it by Nov. now that this knee thing has been resolved. Last November I ended up paying $10+ for a pack at the resort. I can think of much better uses for that money.
