kerickson ~ Nov 6-14 Dolphin/BLT/Wonder

This will be our 1st trip to WDW and 2nd cruise (we are DLR pros :goodvibes)

Nov looks like a great time of year as we'll get to enjoy some of the Christmas activities. Such a magical time!

Hi Everyone!

This will be our 1st November trip and will include our 1st Birthday day celebration for DS11 and DS4 and our 1st Christmas time trip with MVMCP. We will arrive in the World on 11/27, and sadly will have to leave on 12/4.

Our cast includes: me, DH, DS11, DS4, DS2, my older sister and my younger sister. I am very excited that my younger sister is coming with us, she has not been to WDW since 1989!

This will be my 9th trip.

I was able to secure some great ADR's, I made my ressies before FD was announced and then was able to jump on the FD bandwagon.

My ADR's include:
Coral Reef
Garden Grill
San Angel Inn
1900 Park Fare
'Ohana
Kona Cafe
T-REX
Le Cellier
Les Chefs de France
Tusker House
Boatwright's

I am having an issue deciding which resort we will stay at. First I was all geared up for POR (it would be our first trip here), then when my younger sister said she could come I downgraded to POP to make it more affordable for her. Then I just couldn't stand it and made a ressie for POR for all of us again. The issue really is money, it's a difference of $680, which is a lot. But, I so want to stay at POR, I am talking with DH about it so we will see. Currently we are booked at both POP and POR.

So, that's about it in a nutshell. Can't wait for our trip! 139 more days!

Yay! Thanks for sending me to the right thread!!! :)

We'll be at AKL Nov. 14-21.

We are so excited! We never been this time of year before and never stayed at a Deluxe Resort! :cloud9: Thank you free dining! :woohoo:

bump...

I don't see myself on the list. We're Nov 21-26th Saratoga Springs and Nov 26th to 27th Pop. Me, DH, DS18, DD8 and Dsis, DBIL, DNephew

Ooooh I see why. it was 2 separate threads. I probably never posted to the 2nd one. ?

WOW look at all the new November travelers!! :yay:

:welcome: to all of you!! :goodvibes Come on in and make yourselves comfortable, we'll be here counting down everyday for the next 3-4 months!! :cool1:

He loves zoo camp! This is his second year for a week long camp. We did the mom/dad & me classes for a year or two until he was old enough for camp. They have some wonderful programs.

I took the week off to shuttle him back & forth. He does a morning session then in the afternoons we play at the Carnegie Museum (dinosaurs, of course!), Science Center or Children's Museum. He is already looking forward to next year :)

If your guys have never done one of their programs, they are completely worth it.

We have been to all those places you mentioned. Lots of fun things to do in PHG! :cool1: Do you live nearby?

go for it! We LOVED the cruise we just went on.. granted it wasn't Disney, but it was a blast! We are going to wait a few years, probably until our 3 year old is about 6 or 7.. then we are going to go on the Disney one!

I did some pricing this weekend. :scared1: Let's just say that it's a good thing we have 3 years to save for it!! :upsidedow So if I can just get DH onboard with the plan and then get myself past the price, we will be good! :rotfl:

Good Morning Everyone,

The heat wave finally broke here

We got a 1 day break from the sweltering heat - Saturday. It was a beautiful warm day, but not miserably hot. Yesterday was very hot, but not quite as humid as it had been last week.

I am back, I think.... My surgery was a breeze. And I was feeling pretty good until I decided I felt good enough to wrestle with the kids -3 days post surgery! Yeah, just stamp STUPID on my forehead! I paid for that one! I am feeling better now. But I plan to take it easy. The girls left this am for the beach with my in-laws and DH goes back to work tomorrow. So, I plan to just relax the next week! A nice quite CLEAN house.... ahhhhhhh.....

Glad you are back! :goodvibes Take it easy and get all healed up!

My DD9 & I just got back from church camp & feel SO overwhelmed!! We had a fabulous time, but I was JUST informed that my MIL & nephew want to come on our November WDW trip!!!!!!! :scared1: I'm excited for them, but pretty stressed about getting their trip/dining booked. Not to mention: my Mom & I leave this month for her "Bucket List" trip & she's running 102 fever. :sad1:

YAY for more people on your trip!!:yay: I'm sure you'll get it all worked out and have a great time.

I hope your mom is feeling better soon.

Missed it yesterday but my counter starts with a 3 :woohoo:

party:

Thanks!

We are so excited about AKL we can hardly stand it!

We were scheduled to go a few weeks ago in June, staying at POFQ. After our kids went to bed the night before we were supposed to leave as we were packing, I got very sick. I ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery. Our poor kids went to bed thinking they were going to Disney and woke up with a sick mom instead.

SO... as a make-up for ALL of us, I am pulling them from school for a week to go to Disney! I wont be well enough to travel for a couple of months, so I let the boys choose - Halloween or Christmas. YAY - they chose Christmas!!! :woohoo: I had a trip booked for mid-December when free dining dates came out.... Our dates were blacked out because it was Pop Warner week :scared1:!!! I had no idea! SO... last night DH and I decided to move the trip up a few weeks. We wont have all the Christmas stuff, but I think we'll have enough. We still have the OL and MVMCP. But the best part is that free dining allowed us to upgrade to AKL!!! :yay:

I'm sorry you were sick and had to cancel your June trip. But congrats on being able to rebook. November is great! :goodvibes

Why did we create a "new" one? just curious?:confused3

The old one really wasn't going anywhere and we wanted to get all the lists on the first page and make it more of an interactive thread. So here we are!! :cool1:

Hello girls! Well...I am at exactly 4 Months today!!!!! Cant wait!!! I think the 4s went fast for me...probably because I don't have my laptop and can't keep checking 15 times a day!!! July is busy...August might drag....so 3 hopefully won't be tooooo bad...then there is the whole 'watching for hurricane' season to be gotten thru!!:rotfl: Of course, it'll be here before you know it, and then I will be depressed cuz its over...so I am fine with a little waiting!!! LOL...hope ya'll have an awesome week!!!

Yay! Thanks for sending me to the right thread!!! :)

We'll be at AKL Nov. 14-21.

I'm sorry about disappointment of cancelling your first trip. :sad2:

Have you called to see if you have a pin attached to your name? I booked my MIL & nephew yesterday & saved them OVER $500 by changing from Free Dining to 40% off Poly. I had THREE different discounts attached to my name & thankfully there was one that wasn't just "room only." The room only code would allow for MYW tix, but NO dining. Then KATHLEEN (the CM who was EXTRA helpful) kept checking & found a code that allowed us to add dining. You may just call in & see. When staying deluxe, a 40% off code is definitely better than FD ;)

YAY for more people on your trip!!:yay: I'm sure you'll get it all worked out and have a great time.

I hope your mom is feeling better soon.

Thank you :cloud9: I was able to book ALL of the same ADR's except Le Cellier (surprise, surprise!!) So, their trip is booked (40% off POLY!!) and all of their dining is booked :cheer2: And, Mom's temp is under 101. :woohoo: I think she's decided to skip chemo this Thursday, so her body will be feeling pretty good for her "bucket list" trip.

Why is your mom getting chemo? Mine is, too. Last year she was diagnosed with 2 primary Stage 4 cancers - Breast and Colon. She went thru the breast cancer chemo first, then they found the colon cancer. She's doing that chemo now, and it is HARSH. They are giving her the shots to increase her white count, and she runs a fever every time. :sad1:

Oh, I have another November question...
Since MVMCP will be going on, will the castle be decorated with Christmas lights? If not, we might have to move our trip again. DS8 wants to see that most of all. :)

Last year the castle was all lit up when we were there - the second week of November. A friend of mine that works down there said the MK lights & decorations went up late in the week the first week of the month! :santa:

I think as soon as the Halloween stuff goes down (I think the last MNSSHP is on Nov 1st), they put up the Christmas stuff! Which reminds me - last year during the first part of our week we would get Halloween/Fall cups and Christmas napkins at our CS meals! :rotfl: Guess it was an in-between time! By the end of the week everything was Christmas.

Yay! :yay: We're going the week before Thanksgiving, so we should be fine! :santa:

I will definitely call and see if I have a code! Thank you!!! :goodvibes If you don't have a code, try all the tricks....register for the free planning DVD; start a "mock itinerary on WDW site & save it, then delete it a few days later; sign up for the free maps. This is what we did & it worked!!

WOW!! What a fighter your Mom must be  My Mom has stage 4 breast cancer. It's in her liver, bones & lymph nodes. She is on a clinical trial of ixabepiline/carboplatin (spelling is BAD!) She's just started running fever the past month or so. We are praising GOD everyday for her being alive! I am taking her (by myself) on her top "bucket list" request, which is whale watching. We leave next week for Monterey & San Francisco. We're just praying her fever will go down! :cloud9:

Well, I hoped it would happen and it did... I added anothere night to our trip to AKL. Now we are staying the 15th - 20th. Now I need to figure out where to eat. Just when I thought the planning was over.:cool1:

Congrats on the extra day!! :woohoo: Now you better get working on those ADR's!

We will be at Sports from November 28th thru December 12th.

Hope to see you all there!

WeHEARTmickey and TruBlu, I am sorry to hear of the cancers in your families. Your family members are blessed to have you both to watch over them and help them through this difficult time.

:welcome: And thanks for the sweet words  We've had so many family members with cancer (FIL just passed away in March w/ it & so many others have it) But we've found that it has actually brought us closer & reminds us to make EACH day count! :grouphug:

We are about an hour south of Pittsburgh. My office actually used to be downtown, but now I am in Greensburg for work. So much better, free parking & much less traffic :)

My mom IS a fighter! It sounds like yours is too!! :lovestruc I wish I was half as strong as her. With her breast cancer she was very lucky. They said that it appeared to have grown out instead of in. It had spread to her skin and lymph nodes but not her liver and bones. She was just finishing up chemo and recovering from her mastectomy when they found the colon cancer. Again, she was lucky. The tumor was HUGE. It had caused a 98% blockage, but it had only spread as far as her lymph nodes. She recovered quickly from the surgery, and they started chemo right away. She is supposed to have 12 rounds, but she is really having trouble this time. Her counts stay so low that instead of getting it every 2 weeks it ends up being every 3 or 4. She's had 5 rounds so far.

She asked my boys to bring her a new hat from Disney since she's bald again. They can't wait to pick one out! :goodvibes

They had the one she wears now made for her. It is pink with "Fight Like A Girl" one the front and "Chemo-Sabe" on the back. DS8 has been calling her Chemo-Sabe since she started the chemo, and she loves it!

You added a day and I'm subtracting one. The flights are crazy expensive for us to stay the extra day. BUT, my DH is very happy. This means we can get home in time to make it to the college football game we were going to have to miss. :)

Wow! What a wonderful long trip!!! This will be our shortest one ever, but hopefully it will be just as fun. :goodvibes

Thanks for the kind words about my mom. She is so strong that she is getting US through it. :)
