The heat wave finally broke here

Thank You , did not hear anything from the Dr's office so I say No News is Good News !

I am back, I think.... My surgery was a breeze. And I was feeling pretty good until I decided I felt good enough to wrestle with the kids -3 days post surgery! Yeah, just stamp STUPID on my forehead! I paid for that one! I am feeling better now. But I plan to take it easy. The girls left this am for the beach with my in-laws and DH goes back to work tomorrow. So, I plan to just relax the next week! A nice quite CLEAN house.... ahhhhhhh.....

It seems the heat wave broke here too, for atleast a couple days. I just about LMAO when the news reported the other day that AEP (our electric company) was asking everyone to run their a/c on 78 or above. YEAH RIGHT!

And yes, I always go with the "No News Is Good News". Esp when coming from a dr office!

Glad to hear your starting to feel like your old self again, it is so easy to over-do things when your feeling better

.....I totally agree about the thermostat I have to run my a/c due to my asthma but I still keep it between 68 and 70.........78 is just a little too warm for me

Px4 glad you are feeling better. When you feel better you want to conquer the world until your body says NO!!! Enjoy your time and sit. That is what my husband usually says. Do I listen....sometimes!!

As for heat...it has been rainy. I look forward to days filled with sun. The A/C is something my husband and I have great discussions over. He likes it at 70 and I like it at 76. So we compromise on 74 and I wear a sweatshirt. Being in Kansas, I just step outside to thaw!!

SJS314 Thanks for the question about Undercover Tourist. I hadn't thought about them for ordering tickets but have since changed my mind after all the info that was given.

As for being forty, it's better than I thought!!! If something doesn't go right I just blame it on being forty and it doesn't expire till next may.

I don't post much but love, love, love all the discussion and info.

We had a one day reprieve from the heat too, and it's not too bad today-but in the 90's again next week. Whew!! I'm not sure I could enjoy a WDW vacation in this kind of heat (though I'd probably be willing to give it a try) I'm so glad to be going in November!! (Our trip in 2008 had some really chilly nights though-as low as 40 degrees-Burr!)

Just a friendly warning to those advised by their power companies...around here (SE Michigan) they only post advisories when they're really concerned about brown-outs. I figure it's better to be a little less cool than have a whole area burn out and everybody sweats while they fix it. (We had one last over 24 hours last year---miserable!)

My DD9 & I just got back from church camp & feel SO overwhelmed!! We had a fabulous time, but I was JUST informed that my MIL & nephew want to come on our November WDW trip!!!!!!! I'm excited for them, but pretty stressed about getting their trip/dining booked. Not to mention: my Mom & I leave this month for her "Bucket List" trip & she's running 102 fever.

Roommate A and I (Roommate B is also going but he was busy playing Guitar Hero) looked at a bunch of the Food and Wine Festival info and some of MVMCP stuff too. So excited we get to experience both!

This will be our 1st November trip and will include our 1st Birthday day celebration for DS11 and DS4 and our 1st Christmas time trip with MVMCP. We will arrive in the World on 11/27, and sadly will have to leave on 12/4.

Our cast includes: me, DH, DS11, DS4, DS2, my older sister and my younger sister. I am very excited that my younger sister is coming with us, she has not been to WDW since 1989!

This will be my 9th trip.

I was able to secure some great ADR's, I made my ressies before FD was announced and then was able to jump on the FD bandwagon.

My ADR's include:
Coral Reef
Garden Grill
San Angel Inn
1900 Park Fare
'Ohana
Kona Cafe
T-REX
Le Cellier
Les Chefs de France
Tusker House
Boatwright's

I am having an issue deciding which resort we will stay at. First I was all geared up for POR (it would be our first trip here), then when my younger sister said she could come I downgraded to POP to make it more affordable for her. Then I just couldn't stand it and made a ressie for POR for all of us again. The issue really is money, it's a difference of $680, which is a lot. But, I so want to stay at POR, I am talking with DH about it so we will see. Currently we are booked at both POP and POR.

So, that's about it in a nutshell. Can't wait for our trip! 139 more days!

I think with a ressie at Pop you'd only have quick dining free and with Por it would be regular disney dining. That might actually save more money.

If it were me I would go with the POR ressie , I know how I am and if that is where I really wanted to stay I would not be happy at another resort, plus as pp mentioned the DP is better at a MOD so for the difference you will save that in the TS meals I should think.

I have only been to two places on your ADR list Coral Reef and Garden Grill-We loved Garden Grill we have been there 3x I think , Coral Reef I have gone to twice and last time was not as pleased as the first visit.

We were scheduled to go a few weeks ago in June, staying at POFQ. After our kids went to bed the night before we were supposed to leave as we were packing, I got very sick. I ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery. Our poor kids went to bed thinking they were going to Disney and woke up with a sick mom instead.

SO... as a make-up for ALL of us, I am pulling them from school for a week to go to Disney! I wont be well enough to travel for a couple of months, so I let the boys choose - Halloween or Christmas. YAY - they chose Christmas!!! I had a trip booked for mid-December when free dining dates came out.... Our dates were blacked out because it was Pop Warner week !!! I had no idea! SO... last night DH and I decided to move the trip up a few weeks. We wont have all the Christmas stuff, but I think we'll have enough. We still have the OL and MVMCP. But the best part is that free dining allowed us to upgrade to AKL!!!

Oh so sorry to hear about your illness, I can not even imagine the disappointment the kids woke up to in addition to worrying about thier Mother but I guess it was a blessing in a way that it happened before you were all the way in Florida and actually on vacation.

Yes, and thankfully I bought trip insurance. We only lost the $140 or so that we paid for the insurance - well, that is - if I ever send in our claim for the $200 Disney keeps when you cancel at the last minute. I'm still recovering from the surgery, and haven't felt like dealing with it.

We were there last year during the last weekend of the F&W (Nov. 7 & 8), the morning at Epcot wasn't bad, we had lunch at the Biergarten and then WS was PACKED, shoulder to shoulder. We left Epcot even though we had planned to stay through Illuminations, just didn't want to deal with the massive crowds. The good news is that when we went back that Monday it was pretty empty, that night we walked on at Test Track and Mission Space. We're arriving on the last day too and will be spending the afternoon at DHS.
